ST-läkares identitetsarbete: En studie av läkare under specialiseringstjänstgöring
The results from 13 interviews and one opinion poll answered by resident Physicians were interpreted as stories about identity as primary material for this thesis. The resident Physicians stress the importance of considering whether their work primarily concerns curing people from diseases or if the process of working with sick people also includes how to handle the pressure of work, either by adapting to it or changing it, and the search for balance between work and private life. Residents separate themselves from older Physicians by saying that younger Physicians accentuate empathy to a greater extent while older Physicians emphasise a high work load. Identity seems to effect how the residents perceive and relate to their work, themselves as residents and different types of patients..
Euthanasia: A Critical Analysis of the Physician's Role
Sometimes relatives have taken me on one side and told me they cannot bear it any more:"Isn't there something you can do to end it all?"More often requests for euthanasia have come from those who are ill. I remember visiting a man with lung cancer. He asked his wife to leave the room. As she closed the door he leaned over and grabbed my arm.
Zoonoser hos sällskapsdjur : en risk för immunsupprimerade personer
Our companion animals can, with or without symptoms, carry infectious agents which have a potential to induce diseases in man, so called zoonoses. An immune compromised person has an increased risk of becoming infected by various agents, and thus also has an increased risk to become infected by one?s own companion animals. A study was carried out within the veterinary program at SLU, Sweden, based on a questionnaire answered by 31 Physicians, 31 veterinarians and interviews of 30 immune compromised persons in Sweden.
The study investigated the following questions:
Which zoonoses do Physicians and veterinarians consider to be the most important to inform immunecompromised persons about?
How are immunecompromised persons being informed by their Physicians about the risk of catching zoonoses from their companion animals?
How are the owners of zoonosis-infected animals being informed by their veterinarians about zoonoses?
Does veterinary medicine and human medicine communicate about zoonoses, in order to take the best care of immunecompromised persons in contact with animals?
The results of our study imply that:
- Physicians and veterinarians differ about which zoonoses immunecompromised persons should be informed about.
- Only oral information is passed to immunecompromised persons and animal owners.

Today's patients are turning increasingly tothe Internet before they visit their doctor, this is due to the electronic healthinformation is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while the regulardoctor usually have several weeks of waiting. Problems that can arise with theWeb-based information is that the patient does not have a medical educationto know whether the information is appropriate or not. Method: To explorethese questions, I decided to use both qualitative semi-structured postalquestionnaires and telephone interviews in which the Physicians preferreddifferently.

Dokumentation vid vård av patienter med demenssjukdom i palliativt skede på särskilda boenden : -En retrospektiv journalstudie
Abstract Background: End of life is difficult to establish in patients with dementia and many patients die due to complications related to the disease. To document that care are palliative in this group of patients is not common among nurses and Physicians. This may depend on that the palliative course is extended and not similar to the palliative course common among patients with cancer. Aim: To describe how the registered staff in nursing homes document the care of persons with dementia in a late palliative phase. Method: A retrospective record study with a deductive approach.
Sjuksköterskors och läkares delaktighet i kvalitetsutveckling : En fallstudie vid Karlskoga lasarett

Systemtid eller vårdtid? : En arbetsplatsstudie i vårdens digitala arbetsmiljö
Swedish healthcare systems have endured harsh criticism from healthcare professionals because of their inability to understand healthcare processes. These systems have been identified as significant time consumers, and Swedish healthcare is therefore facing a major challenge to assure patient safety. The following paper is based on a workplace study, which aims to examine healthcare systems? impact on Physicians? practices. Our findings show that Physicians spend substantial amounts of time chasing information, rather than managing information and pursuing healthcare.
Kännedom om och handhavande av Vocal Cord Dysfunction : bland logopeder och läkare i Sverige
Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD) is characterized by paradoxical vocal cord movement during inspiration or expiration, and generally affects adolescents and predominantly women. Previous studies have shown a large inconsistency concerning terminology, definitions, etiology, assessment, differential diagnosis, co-morbidity and treatment. The purpose of this study was to map knowledge on and management of VCD in Sweden. The study was conducted as a written survey addressed to speech-language pathologists and Physicians, and attained an answer percentage of 79 percent. The results showed that several professions were involved in the management of these patients, but no clear pattern of referral could be observed.
EN STUDIE AV AT-LÄKARES INFORMATIONSSÖKNINGSBETEENDE I OLIKA PRAKTIKER
AbstractInformation and information seeking have always been important parts of society. How behavioural patterns of information seeking manifest themselves are partly due to individual prerequisites and partly due to the practice where the seeking of information is conducted. The aim of this study is to investigate a group of newly examined Physicians? experiences of information seeking behaviour in their educational practice and in their professional practice. The two practices are related to each other but still very different. This makes it interesting to study whether individuals? information seeking behaviour changes when they move from the educational practice to the professional. The theoretical framework for the current study is a socio-cultural one.
