The store manager can make great benefits of having an eye on how the staff works towards the customer, because the personnel is an important tool when competing with other stores. This paper is focusing on the part that relates to the staff in the store, which is one of the key tools in the competition for customers after the customer made it to the store. Many stores have guidelines which the staff should follow when they meet with customers. If the staff is too tightly controlled by these guidelines, customers can perceive the first encounter with the staff as artificial and as if the genuine friendliness does not exist. It is important that the staff looks at the individual customer and treat every customer in a personal way and that the staff can see the customer?s needs.

Eight libraries, seven public libraries and one college library, in the northeast of Skåne serve as foundation in a collaboration where students and adult learners are placed in the center of attention. The aim of this Master's thesis in library and information science was to study how the students and adult learners in the northeast of Skåne perceive the library services that are developed with their needs in mind.Our method for this thesis was a quantitative interview study. We aimed to conduct interviews with users at the public libraries within the cooperation and thereby find out whether or not users within the target group were aware of the services that are developed and established within the northeast Skåne collaboration.The results showed that only a few respondents in the key target group did in fact know about certain parts of the library services especially developed for the northeast of Skåne-collaboration. The majority of the key target group also thought that study-related literature and reading rooms were the most important means that the libraries have to offer them in their studies. The northeast of Skåne-collaboration had many ideas concerning library services.

Den svenska hälso- och sjukvården har förändrats i takt med att välfärdssamhället har byggts ut sedan andra världskriget. Trender och modeller har påverkat styrning och organisering vilket har fått konsekvenser för arbetets utformning för dem som är verksamma inom området. Denna studie har, med hälso- och sjukvårdens förändring som bakgrund, undersökt hur personalfunktionens uppdrag förändrats i organisationen Landstinget i Uppsala län under drygt trettio år. Metoden har varit empirisk studie i form av intervjuer av individer som varit verksamma inom personalfunktionen i organisationen under en lång tid. Studien har lett fram till följande slutsatser:Personalfunktionen inom Landstinget i Uppsala län har under drygt trettio år gått från att vara administrativ till att vara en typ av expertfunktion.

The purpose of this study was to explore nurses' experiences of obstructed airways in the prehospital work.A qualitative interview study with a descriptive and explorative design was used. The sample consisted of nine registered nurses whereof three were women and six were men, with or without further education and varying length of experience in the ambulance service.Prehospital personnel builds up a vast plan of action based on the emergency information provided by SOS. Simple methods for managing obstructed airways were stated often enough. Problems with obstructed airways are considered so unusual that it never becomes a routine. Several factors affect the identification and managing of obstructed airways, both external factors and the different patient categories are considered important.

A Large part of the education provided at colleges and universities of today requires for thestudent to be more independent in their studies. This demands that the physical space,where the students choose to study, is designed in a way that can encourage and supportlearning. It seems as though that many of the learning spaces of today don?t always meetthe students? needs. The university library at the University of Umeå is currently planningto design new learning spaces for the students.

In this critical situation the nurse has an important role for the care. Many nurses lack of knowledge about how to take care of the bereaved relatives. Aim: The aim of the literature study was to describe aspects of caring for suddenly bereaved relatives. Method: The data for the study were scientific articles found in the databases PubMed and Cinahl and from a manual search.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att beskriva erfarna sjuksköterskors reflektioner om hur deuppnår ett gott bemötande av patienter. Studien hade en beskrivande design och genomfördes somen semistrukturerad intervjustudie. Sex erfarna sjuksköterskor verksamma inom somatiskavuxenvården intervjuades. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet avdenna studie visar att sjuksköterskan vill skapa en öppen atmosfär.

It is now increasingly common for organisations to work actively with HR issues. Furthermore, it is a constant top priority for organisations to remain profitable. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether so called soft HR values, as manager?s communication skills, has an actual impact on hard values in terms of costs for the organisation. Leadership is largely characterised by emotional communication, which together with personnel costs were the main focus of the research.

Bakgrund: Kommunikation är en grundläggande förutsättning för patientsäkerheten inom vårdorganisationen. Tidigare forskning inom området handlar till stor del om kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och patient eller sjuksköterska och läkare. Forskning som studerar kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och omvårdnadspersonal finns i betydligt mindre omfattning.Syfte: Att ur omvårdnadspersonalens perspektiv kartlägga kommunikationen med sjuksköterskor inom korttidsboende samt beskriva erfarenheter av kommunikation mellan sjuksköterskor och omvårdnadspersonal i omvårdnaden av patienter som vistas på korttidsboende.Metod: EnkätstudieResultat: Resultatet visar att omvårdnadspersonalen har både bra och mindre bra erfarenheter av kommunikation med sjuksköterskor. Enligt omvårdnadspersonalen är kommunikationen betydelsefull för att patienterna ska få en god vård, men även eftersom olika yrkesgrupper arbetar i team. Rutiner för kommunikation finns och omvårdnadspersonalens erfarenhet är att dessa fungerar bra.

The purpose of this study was to describe how women with fibromyalgia experienced their quality of life. The method used was a literature study with a descriptive design. The search for scientific articles was done by the databases Academic Search Elite, CINAHL, Medline via PubMed and Cohrane Library. The articles were quality-tested and the content studied, resulting in four categories as follows. Research involving the physical aspects of the quality of life showed that sleeplessness, tiredness and pain was commonly occurring symptoms in women?s daily life which affected their life-situation.

Background: Contracting asexually transmitted disease is strongly associated with stigmaand shame. Stigma associated with these diseases has a significant impact on self-image andpropensityto seek care. Despitehigh incidencethere is a generallack of awareness about therisks and theeffectsthatthese diseases have on both mental and physical health. Health carepersonnel are experiencing difficulties to meet and care for these patients. Aim: The aim ofthis studyisto describe patients'experiences of health care after they were diagnosed with asexually transmitted disease.

Family centres are established to serve families with children and the personnel usually consists of units of social-workers, preschool staff, paediatric nurses and midwives. The purpose of the study was to examine the social-workers preventive work with families at the family centre. To fulfil the purpose, a qualitative interview with five social-workers was conducted. The theoretical framework referred to attachment and empowerment theory. The results of the study showed that the main part of the work consists of giving advice and support to parents.

This Master?s thesis is about the public library development in a rural district, in this case Bergunda, a large rural district in Kronoberg?s County in Småland in Sweden, existing 1952 ? 1970. The main question is; how the public library develops in Bergunda large rural district 1951-1970. The main question is divided up in sub-questions: the district uniting in 1952 and 1971; personnel; lending; library housing and the public library structure. In 1952, there is one public library, Bergunda public library, and four study circle libraries.

The study aims to describe, compare, and analyze how managers and basic staff in disability care reflects on education and competence in the organization and from an organizational context explain how the professionalization efforts can be understood at different levels of disability care. Highlighting these questions can stimulate discussion within this field when it comes to the evaluation of competence and skills of staff working with people with various disabilities, which is also sought after in society even more today. The study is qualitative and the result is based on five semi-structured interviews with managers and basic staff in disability care. The interview questions were categorized according to the concepts that are central in this essay: competence, training, professionalism and organization.The results show that there is some doubt about what a higher competence of personnel in direct contact with the users would mean. Among the basic staff uncertainty seems to be highest.
