The aim of this thesis is to accomplish an understanding on how librarians experience their professional role at private companies. The study is based on qualitative interviews with persons who have a degree in Library and Information science, but does not work as an ordinary librarian. To answer why the respondents work at private companies, this thesis dwells on how the education in library and information science prepares their students to face an alternative career; why the respondents wants to work at private firms instead of a library; if the salary is a key factor in order to choose a career; if the respondents think the companies appreciate their qualifications, and finally, if the respondents think they intrude on other professions' territory? Working at a private company, with a degree in library- and information science, is not, according to the respondents, easy. Although appreciated by their knowledge in the field of information, the interviewees think that the title librarian is hard to cope with.

The management of information is a significant competitiveness in companies. Companies stored and save information every day, and it is very common to save de information in different sources. This makes de management of information complex. To mange, monitor and analyze the information, companies can use a system called Business Intelligence. BI system is an analytical system that extracts and converts data into useful information that helps employees to make informed decisions.

Syfte: Att belysa patienters behov av information postoperativt. Bakgrund: Flera hundra tusen operationer genomförs varje år i Sverige på patienter som läggs in på sjukhus. Många av dessa patienter är stressade och oroliga och behöver få information för att minska deras oro. En av kärnkompetenserna för sjuksköterskor är att kunna ge information. Metod: Kunskap om vikten av patientinformation införskaffades genom vetenskapliga artiklar.

Syfte: Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka hur information kan hanteras med ett integrerat affärssystem till stöd för controllers och personer med ledande befattningar.Metod: Vi genomförde en fallstudie där vi intervjuade controllers och personer med ledande befattningar på WSP. Detta för att kartlägga de informationsbehov som finns utifrån deras centrala arbetsuppgifter. Med utgångspunkt från en teoretisk referensram och med vetskap om deras informationsbehov analyserade vi hur information kan hanteras med hjälp av ett integrerat affärssystem till stöd för dem.Resultat: För personer med ledande befattningar handlar det ofta om att få information för att ta sig till beslut, och de behöver oftast olika sorters information. Controllern har en central roll för att hantera och vidarebefordra information, och det är viktigt att det finns bra verktyg för att hantera och distribuera information. Ett integrerat affärssystem kan vara till stöd för hantering och spridning av information, och vid utformandet av affärssystemet är det viktigt att skapa en presentation av informationen som stimulerar användaren och ger möjlighet för användaren att förstå dess innehåll.

This bachelor thesis is about communication problems and treatment during the reference interview. The purpose was to investigate the reasons of why users? information needs are not always understood by the librarian and what to do about it. I have also investigated what kind of skills that can be useful for librarians to have and how a librarian can act in a way that makes the user feel welcome during the reference interview. The method I used was a literature study and an own study through interviews of library users.

Background: Heart failure is a complex condition which means that the hearts capacity topump blood is reduced. The aim of this study was to investigate how patients with heartfailure considered their knowledge and the information they received about their disease andself-care.Method: Patients suffering from heart failure, hospitalized at section 30 E (n=13), andpatients visiting the nurse led heart failure clinic (n=4) at Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala,were requested to participate in the study. The patients answered questions about knowledgeand information concerning self-care and their disease. Data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0.Results: The patients valued their knowledge about the disease as lower than their knowledgeabout self-care. The study showed that all the patients found the information they hadreceived about their self-care better than the information they had received about theirdisease.

I denna uppsats undersöker vi hur tre olika tidpunkter för visning av information på en secondscreen uppfattas av personer. Målet med undersökningen är att få en inblick i hur tittare upplever information som visas på en second-screen. Vi hoppas att resultatet ska kunna bidra till utformingen av kommande second-screenapplikationer. Dessutom har vi undersökt om tidpunkten av när information visas påverkar minnet av det personer ser på second-screenen. Vi utförde tester på totalt 18 personer med hjälp av tre stycken prototyper och varje testperson blev intervjuad efteråt..

En enkätundersökning sändes ut till tandhygienister (n=79), som arbetade på samtliga Specialistkliniker för Parodontologi i Sverige under maj månad 2005. Syftet var att undersöka vilka faktorer som ansågs vara av betydelse för att uppnå goda och bestående resultat av munhygieninstruktioner hos patienter som behandlas för parodontit, samt vilka faktorer man ansåg försämrade möjligheten att uppnå framgångsrika resultat. Följande faktorer undersöktes; patientfaktorer, instruktionsmetoder, hjälpmedel vid munhygien och vårdmiljö. Resultatet visade att stressituationer hos patienten och återbud till bokade behandlingar var betydande faktorer som försvårade goda och framgångsrika resultat för att uppnå god munhygien. Extremt viktig faktor ansågs tandhälsoinformation vara, speciellt personlig sådan, där tandhygienistens engagemang och även vårdmiljön spelade stor roll.

Utvecklingen av teknik och tekniska hjälpmedel har lett till att det finns fler sätt att lära ut på än de traditionella klassrumslektionerna. Studenterna behöver inte vara bundna till en specifik tid eller plats, när lärandet kan göras mobilt. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur studenter vid distanskurser upplever att kommunikationen fungerar samt vilka för- och nackdelar de finner. Åtta intervjupersoner har intervjuats i arbetet och de utförda intervjuerna har transkriberats och tolkats. Det framkom att intervjupersonerna till största del använde e-mail och icke-verbala chattar för att kommunicera med varandra och med lärare.

The fast developments in information and data technology during the recent years have accentuated the need for the business manager to interpret and act on information from the surrounding environment. Today we know little about what information is really used in the unique decision-making. Further, little is known about how information should be designed to fit people with a more intuitive approach to interpreting information. This study is therefore about the difference between peoples approach to interpreting information and how information should be designed to fit those with a more intuitive approach to interpreting information. The application is made to dairy farms in Sweden. The literature review describes the strategic leadership, the decision-making process and the intuitive and the analytic thinking.

Background: For an individual a surgery may involve strains and risks. Many patients experience a loss of its own identity and often an inability to control the situation while going through a surgical operation. Fear of pain or to not wake up from the anesthetic or that the surgery will fail are worrying factors that some people experiences. Purpose: The purpose was to describe patients? perceptions of preoperative information in connection to elective surgeries.

Med stöd av Precede-Proceed-modellen syftar denna studie till att kartlägga invånarnas intresse för ett kommunalt hälsofrämjande kostarbete i Kungsbacka kommun. Utgångspunkt finns i de nationella folkhälsomålen såväl som i Kungsbacka kommunfullmäktiges prioriterade mål för demokrati och hälsa. En i huvudsak kvantitativ enkät utformades för att svara på om invånarna är intresserade av kommunens kostarbete och i så fall hur de vill ta del av ett sådant arbete. Enkäten delades ut i pappersform på valda platser samt publicerades som en webbenkät på kommunens hemsida och Facebooksida, i ett försök att nå ut till invånare från olika delar av kommunen och i olika åldrar. Sammanlagt 167 personer svarade på enkäten varav 100 var intresserade av kommunens arbete.

The purpose of this paper is to examine different attitudes regarding freedom of information and how libraries should fulfil their information-task represented by four organisations. The organisations are important in shaping the Swedish public libraries in different ways. The purpose is to examine in what ways their definition of information freedom may differ from one another and what that means in defining the public library. For the survey the qualitative textual analysis has been used for examining the documents and websites that are part of the debate about the public library and information freedom. We chose to interview representatives of four organisations that in different ways influence the shaping of the public library.

Bakgrund: På senare tid har arbete fått en stor betydelse för individer och är mer än enbart ett försörjningsmedel. Arbetsterapeuten har en central roll för rehabilitering inom psykiatrin eftersom aktivitetsförmåga är avgörande för att en individ ska klara av ett arbete. Arbetsinriktad rehabilitering utgår ifrån olika modeller med mål att främja individens funktioner som krävs för att arbeta. Det har gjorts få studier som beskrivit individers upplevelser av arbetsinriktad rehabilitering.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva betydelsen av den arbetsinriktade rehabiliteringen för individer med psykiska funktionshinder utifrån deltagares upplevelser och uppfattningar.Metod: En deskriptiv systematisk litteraturstudie genomfördes med sökning i olika databaser och manuell sökning till ett underlag på 10 vetenskapliga artiklar.Resultat: Resultatet presenteras under 11 olika teman av betydelser som deltagarna beskrev: Avlönat arbete, Delaktighet, Hjälpsam arbetsroll, Samhörighet, Normalisering, Personlig utveckling, Nya rutiner, Aktivitet, Hälsa, Betydelsen av stöd, Arbetshinder.Slutsats: Mestadels positiva betydelser av arbetsinriktad rehabilitering kunde ses i resultatet. Betydelse av delaktighet, ökad livskvalité, personlig utveckling och arbetets potential att skapa en strukturerad vardag lyftes fram i resultatet.
