The purpose of this study is to give a picture of the current status for the recruitment to forest machine operator educations in Sweden, how many the educators are and the outcome of this activity. The three at present different types of education are upper secondary school, polytechnic school and vocational school. The method used for the survey is telephone interviews, pre-broadcast issues were discussed and the responses were recorded. The results are then compiled and presented in linear form. The conclusions one can draw is that education is desirable and important. To get young people interested in forest machine operator education it is very important that the forest industry continues to develop attractive employment..

Länge har det inom den svenska integrationsforskningen funnits en efterfrågan på kun­skap om kvinnor med utländsk bakgrund på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Följande upp­sats avser att besvara denna efterfrågan genom att undersöka kvinnor med utländsk bakgrund, deras arbets­status år 1991 samt karriärsmobilitet mellan åren 1991 och 2000. Studien riktar huvudsakligen fokus mot humankapital i form av utbildningsår och dess samband med arbetsstatus för kvinnor med utländsk bakgrund. Med anledning av famil­j­­en som betydelsefullt socialt kapital riktas även ett särskilt fokus mot föräldrars human­kapital och dess potentiella samband med arbetsstatus. Utifrån levnadsnivåundersökningen (LNU) har studien utgått en urvalsstorlek på 5430 individer för undersökningsåret 1991 samt 4395 individer för undersökningsåret 2000. Genom multi­nomiala logi­s­tiska regressioner redogör uppsatsen för de relativa risk­kvot­er­na mellan arbets­status och sociodemografiska faktorer hos kvinnor med utländsk bak­grund respektive svensk bakgrund samt män med utländsk bakgrund.Resultaten visade att humankapital tycktes vara av mindre betydelse för kvinnor med utländsk bakgrund och deras arbetsstatus år 1991 samt att kvinnor av utländsk bakgrund i högre utsträckning än andra befann sig utanför arbetsmarknaden år 1991.

Könssegregationen på den svenska arbetsmarknaden är stor, av de trettio största yrkena har tre en jämn könsfördelning. Brytprojekt är en del av det arbetsmarknadspolitiska jämställdhetsarbetet med syfte att öka möjligheterna för varje individ att använda sina resurser oberoende av könstillhörighet. Vi har utfört fyra kvalitativa intervjuer med killar som deltagit i ett brytprojekt. Det aktuella brytprojektet är ett samarbete mellan kommunen och den lokala högskolan med syfte att bidra till ökad jämställdhet och bredare rekrytering genom att få fler killar intresserade av kvinnodominerade yrkesområden. Utifrån detta är syftet med studien att undersöka hur killar som deltagit i ett brytprojekt talar om sitt deltagande, samt att studera hur de resonerar kring sina framtida studie- och yrkesval efter deltagandet i projektet.

The debate about women and equality is a very burning issue in the Swedish society today. There are a lot of articles, TV-programs, books and web sites treating the position of female leaders today. There are also a lot of myths strongly attached to our minds hindering the equalization process between men and women.The main purpose of our study was to look at women as leaders and identify potential tendencies in businesses sectors dominated by mainly men or women. We also wanted to find out whether leadership behavior is more or less oriented towards relations- or task in any of the chosen sectors. It was even in our interest to see if our chosen respondents supported the myths in our society about male and female qualities.We interviewed 20 women in four different sectors, two dominated by men (Computer/It, Transport) and two dominated by women (School, Healthcare).

In this thesis I try to examine the consumtion among people that are retired and therefore can be considered as being in the third age. This studie is carried out in Norrköping, with interviews of people living in or close to Norrköping. I have used theories about the third age, consumtion and the space of the city. I have examined the importance of the city space as a meeting place and where the elderly buy the things they need for there everyday life. I also try to examine if the things they buy has an importance that goes beyond the immediate use, such as communicating a persons status to others.

The climate at the labour-market in Sweden today means that students who have recently passed their examinations find it quite difficult to find work. The competetiveness calls for a strategy to find advantages in the employment process. The strategy explored in this thesis is called personal branding. We believe that by building a strong personal brand you can increase the possibilities to influence the decisions of those responsible for recruitments in our society. The question we ask ourselves in this essay is how to build a personal brand with the power to give students a competetive advantage in the employment process.

This paper concerning the regional architectural term known as the Tjust Empire style analyses manor houses built in the Tjust area by the east coast of Småland in the period 1810-1860. The term Tjust Empire style was invented in 1937 by PhD. Manne Hofrén in his dissertation on architecture in Kalmar län in the period 1650-1850. The aim of the paper is firstly to determine whether there is a distinct difference between the regional Tjust Empire style in architecture and the common Swedish empire style or as its Swedish equivalent is known; the Karl Johan style. Secondly, the paper strives to analyse why and how the Empire style became so popular in the area during this period, focusing on architecture as a means to express social identity and status.

Bakgrund: Borderline personlighetsstörning karaktäriseras av stark impulsivitet, långvariga känslor av tomhet, självskadebeteende och destruktiva relationer. Suicidrisken uppskattas till 8-10%. Orsaken till borderline personlighetsstörning är ej helt känd men studier har visat att barndomstrauma och negativa händelser i livet kan vara en bidragande faktor till insjuknade. Majoriteten, 75%, av de som utvecklar borderline personlighetsstörning är kvinnor. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med borderline personlighetsstörning. Metod: En litteraturstudie genomfördes där kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar granskades.

Today's unsustainable resource use is influenced by many factors. One key factor isproduction methods and patterns. Trough change of production patterns enterprises can bepart of the solution to a more sustainable society. This case study has analyzed environmentalperformance of the printer company Edita Västra Aros Ltd (EVA), who has gained awards forits environmental work, and what driving forces they have had during this work. The survey isbased on a qualitative method and the collected data consists of documents and staffinterviews, which have been analyzed with content analysis.

Good conditions in the workplace, fairness in the workplace and the social differences contribute to a general improvement in public health. A health-promoting leader is working to create a workplace that promotes health, supports its employees and contributes to their wellbeing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the first-line managers in the city of Västerås experience and deal with their conditions and obstacles in the health-promoting leadership. A qualitative approach was chosen and the selection was six first-line managers working in three different areas of the City of Västerås. Managers were interviewed by an interviewguide and the material was analyzed with a manifest content analysis, with an inductive approach.

The freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) is a large freshwater mussel. Because of its sensitivity to human impact, such as eutrophication, acidification and alterations of hydromorphology, the species is considered as a robust indicator of stream water quality and biodiversity. Moreover, due to the species complex life cycle, including a larval stage on the gills of salmon and trout, and sensitivity of early life stages, regeneration is often used as an indicator. The freshwater pearl mussel is also used in the expert judgement of status classification of benthic invertebrates according to the European Water Framework Directive. The purpose of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of the freshwater pearl mussel as an indicator for Swedish streams. It was made with two types of association analyses.

The purpose of this essay was to develop a conservation program for the outdoor environment at the Zorn House (Zorngården) in Mora, Dalarna, situated in the upper central part of Sweden. In the conservation program the Zorn House garden?s origins and development process has been studied by historical studies of various kinds. As a result a status report also has been made and a description of the garden's values. This has resulted in an objective discussion that provides guidelines for how the garden can be developed in the future.

SammanfattningDet är svårt för företag att konkurrera i dagens föränderliga värld där globalisering och ny teknologi driver på vikten av att vara konkurrenskraftig. Företagsledare har insett vikten av att ha en väl fungerande supply chain, där inköpare har visat sig spela en väldigt stor roll. Det är en av orsakerna till att inköpsfunktionen gått från att vara en ren administrativ funktion, till att vara mer strategisk. De behöver hantera en mängd olika processer och ta många viktiga beslut, som har betydelse för hela organisationen. Om skickligheten hos inköparna har betydelse för hur processerna och besluten hanteras, kan det i sin tur påverka hela organisationen.

There are an increasing number of pupils leaving school with incomplete grades. Research indicates that the causes to this phenomenon may be individual- as well as school related and complicated to illuminate. The purpose of the study is to examine the processes of exclusion that have resulted in pupils´ incomplete degrees. Two research problems have been formulated. The first one is about the identification of exclusion and branding factors for pupils with incomplete degrees.

Respiratory disease with airway inflammation as main characteristic is common in the horse. It is a syndrome that is not yet fully understood. The etiology, pathogenesis and classification into different disease states are subjects for discussion and under continuous revision. Despite a number of modern techniques, the diagnostic procedure is challenging. There is no test considered to be gold standard when diagnosing these diseases.
