I have in this thesis looked at the reasons for why boys, in upper school classes, read so little fiction. Several surveys show that boys in their teenage years stop reading fiction. If they read fiction it is only as a school assignment and not as leisure. There has been research done in boys attitude towards literature, but there hasn?t been any research done asking them about why they don?t read fictionI have interviewed a group of boys about their reasons, and attitude, for why they don?t choose to read fiction on their spare time after school.

This is an essay about love and gender representation in Håkan Hellström?s and Veronica Maggio?s lyrics. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how lyrics of indie-pop music represent gender, sexuality and love. The lyrics used is from love songs performed by Håkan Hellström and Veronica Maggio. The method for examining the lyrics of the love songs is discourse- theory and analysis.

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att identifiera könsbinära normer tillsammans med kontroll i den svenska debatten kring steriliseringar vid juridiskt könsbyte. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna består av Michel Foucaults begrepp "biomakt", Judith Butlers begrepp "den heterosexuella matrisen" och Beatriz Preciados teori kring kontroll av queera kroppar. Med hjälp av kritisk diskursanalys har debatten analyserats genom en tredimensionell analysmetod. Resultatet och analysen i denna uppsats visar att flera könsbinära diskurser kan identifieras i debatten. Dessa diskurser kan delas in utifrån antaganden om identitet, kropp och funktion.

This essay is about literature instruction in the last three years of Sweden?s compulsory school from one teacher?s and six of his pupils? perspective. The research is analysed from a socio-cultural perspective on learning and literature reception.The empiric material is based on interviews with the teacher and six of his students.The research shows that there is a difference between what the pupils read on their spare time and what they read during Swedish instruction. It also shows that the pupils wants literature full of action where descriptions of people and the setting don?t slow down the reading experience.The teacher is successful in finding literature the pupils appreciate but sees the value of literature on another level ? in the processing of the reading experience.

I uppsatsen undersöks verket Proposal av konstnären Allison Katz utifrån campbegreppet och ettperformativitetsteoriskt perspektiv, med syfte att utforska hur verket kan läsas som en kritik avexisterande estetiska kategorier och hierarkier. Analysen av verket utgår främst från CharlesSanders Peirce teckenlära. Resultatet av denna analys tolkas sedan genom ettperformativitetsteoretiskt perspektiv, där campbegreppet förs samman med Margaretha Rossholm-Lagerlöfs estetiskt grundade resonemang om performativitet och Judith Butlers normkritiskaperformativitetsteori. Analysen och tolkningen visar hur Katz i verket Proposal genomför en radförskjutningar av existerande konsthistoriska kategorier och hierarkier, och hur betydelsen av dessainkongruenser är både semantisk och performativ. Dessa två nivåer går inte att skilja från varandra,utan är intrikat sammanvävda i Katz verk där kritiken av hierarkier och kategorier framträder justgenom verkets rumsliga gestaltning och betraktarens sinnliga och kroppsliga upplevelse av det..

Syftet med denna studie är att få en inblick i verksamma lärares föreställningar och förhållningsätt kring genus. Samt skolans syn på begreppet och vilka faktorer som påverkar arbetet kring genus. Vår huvudfrågeställning är: ? Vilka föreställningar har lärarna kring genus och hur förhåller sig de till detta? Våra underfrågor är: ? Vilka svårigheter anser lärare att det finns för att arbeta genusmedvetet? ? Vilket stöd ges åt genuspedagogik i skolan för läraren? Vi har utgått från Hirdmans och Butlers teorier kring genus. Tidigare forskning visar att lärare anser att genus är ett komplext och komplicerat begrepp. De anser att tidsbrist och saknaden av didaktiska övningar som negativa faktorer. Kvalitativa intervjuer och observation har gjorts med sex lärare i grundskolans tidigare år. Resultatet i studien visar att lärarna arbetar väldigt hårt med att behandla alla lika, men det saknas kunskap kring genus som perspektiv.

The education curriculum states that one of the tasks for schools and preschools are to promote gender equality by discouraging traditional gender roles. Gender equality is therefore a part of the fundamental values of the education system. In order to be able to work with the issue of gender equality, the employees need help and further education. Therefore some schools and preeschools contact a teacher specialized in gender equality work.In this essay I have chosen to do a field study of such a teacher at work during different workshops with nurses and teachers. The aim is to examine how she discusses gender ideas and what discussions arises from the meetings with the attendents.

Through a critical discourse analysis this study explores the gender norms that students on Kvinnofolkh?gskolan produce, reproduce and experience. Kvinnofolkh?gskolan is built on the understanding that the world discriminates against women politically, culturally, economically and socially, and thus intends to give women, non-binaries and trans people an education with a feminist alignment. Despite studies being made on gender segregated schools as identity forming, I argue that there is a lack of studies that show how gender discourse and theory is produced in contexts where men are excluded.

Att motverka traditionella könsmönster är ett uttalat mål inom förskolan såväl som skolan. I denna uppsats analyserar jag den statliga offentliga utredningen Jämställd förskola, SOU 2006:75. Mitt syfte är att undersöka hur traditionella könsmönster framställs som problem och vilka konsekvenser som kommer från denna framställning. Ett mer övergripande syfte är också att ta reda på vad som händer med så kallad emancipatorisk kunskap när den införlivas i en politisk diskurs. Metoden för undersökningen är en slags diskursanalys som kallas för What's the problem? och som är mig behjälplig för att undersöka just problemrepresentationer.

Man och kvinna är två separata och distinkta kategorier som används för att representera mänskligheten medan de som inte kan grupperas in i någondera osynliggörs och stigmatiseras. Uppsatsens syfte är att synliggöra transpersoners upplevelser av att vara könsöverskridande. Fokus ligger på bemötande från omgivningen och hur samhällets genusdikotomi påverkar erfarenheter av transpraktiker. Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ intervjustudie med tre transpersoner som växte upp som män men idag har en kvinnlig könsidentitet eller ett kvinnligt könsuttryck, d.v.s. transvestit och transgender.

The aim of this thesis is to examine interactivity in the context of performance-based interactive art. The questions asked are: what are the conditions of interactivity, how interactivity happens, and what artistic results it may yield. The method is an analysis based on close studies of three performance-based interactive artworks by applying theories of interactivity, audience participation, and collaboration.First, current theories are outlined, after which, the three artworks are introduced in detail. Next, the artworks are examined, thematically rather than individually, expanding on parameters such as the degree of artistic direction of the artwork, the degree of agency allowed to the spectator in their interaction with the work, and the idea of the ?passive? spectator as being ?activated? by interactive art.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur genus kan konstrueras i läroböcker och utgår från frågeställningen: Hur kan genus konstrueras i läs- och arbetsböcker för årskurs 4-6 inom ämnet svenska? Arbetet utgår från Judith Butlers analys av genussystemet och hur det upprätthålls genom de centrala begreppen binära konstruktioner, performativitet och den heterosexuella matrisen. Genusteorierna kopplas samman med den kritiska diskursanalysen som bl.a. presenteras av Norman Fairclough samt den funktionella grammatiken. Detta är ett analysverktyg som tar sin utgångspunkt i begreppet diskurs vilket syftar till sätt att se hur språk och idéer konstruerar världen.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how theory and practice intertwines through theactivism of the feminist punk performance collective Pussy Riot. I have also focussed on the political tools with which the activism is performed. Within the academic context of gender studies, I believe there is a need for research that aims to reduce the gap between scholarly and activist feminism. The theoretical framework for the analysis in this essay consists of material feminist theory and postmodern theory. The empirical material is a diversified assemblage of images, court excerpts, newspaper columns, interviews, lyrics and videos.

A qualitative interview study how the normative gender images affects on women, their roles and positions in a drug abuse. The purpose of this study aims to shed a light at the consequences that the normative gender scenario inflicts on women with drug abuse and how these prejudices affects these women. Based on interviews with four different women who all lived with a drug abuse we have problematized how the gender system and the normative gender images affected them. We have used gender perspectives and social constructivism theories while analyzing the empirical basis. More specifically we use the theories of Butler about how gender constructs through performative actions and Hirdmans theories of the gender system.
