Motstridigt samspel mellan ord och bild : En kvalitativ undersökning av samspelet mellan text, bild och omgivande komponenter i Sydsvenska Dagbladet

Med denna uppsats undersöker jag med kvalitativ metod om, på vilket sätt och i vilken utsträckning som en svensk dagstidnings text, bild och i viss mån även omgivande komponenter samspelar. Undersökningsmaterialet består av fem nyhetsartiklar publicerade i Sydsvenska Dagbladet mellan år 2005 och 2007. Artiklarna behandlar ämnet hemlösa personer. Resultatet visar att bild och text ofta har en liknande form om man jämför bildkomposition och textdisposition. De hemlösa skildras något oftare som objekt och upplevare, både i text och i bild, medan de icke-hemlösa framställs som subjekt i bild och har i texten främst funktion som agent.

Redovisningens utveckling av kortsiktig rörlig ersättning - en dokumentstudie av bolag noterade på Stockholmsbörsens A-lista

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om och i så fall hur redovisningen av kortsiktig rörlig ersättning för ledande befattningshavare har förändrats i årsredovisningen samt om informationsasymmetrin mellan mindre aktörer och företagsledning har minskat till följd av detta. Metod: Undersökningen är gjord ur ett agentteoretiskt perspektiv. Dokumentstudiens underlag består av årsredovisningar från 16 börsbolag under åren 1996-2004. Undersökningen är av deskriptiv karaktär och ansatsen har klara deduktiva inslag. En analysmodell har skapats för att undersöka samtliga företag, skapandet av analysmodellen har varit av iterativ karaktär, där både regelverk och det empiriska underlaget varit utgångspunkter.

Lawsonia intracellularis : utvärdering av provtagning med tops : utvärdering av provtagningsteknik med tops vid diagnostik av Lawsonia intracellularis hos tillväxtgrisar

Lawsonia intracellularis is an important pathogen in the intestine, causing diarrhea and retarded (or poor) growth in pigs. Diagnostics is based on sampling of small amounts of faeces. Several publicated scientific papers mention the use of faecal swabs as sampling material for diagnosis in experiments and in prevalence studies. Therefore the need of an evaluation of this sampling technique is urgent since, to our knowledge, this has not previously been done. Here reported work compare the use of rectal swabs for feacal sampling, with sampling and analysis of 0.1-0.2 gram of faeces. The studie included twelve herds with a case history of earlier or ongoing problems with diarrhoea where Lawsonia intracellularis could be suspected as the causative agent. A total of 120 growing pigs where examined.

Do CEOs Get Paid for Performance?

Agency theory describes the conflict of interest between the principal (stockholders) and the agent (CEO). Aligning the incentives of executives with those of the owners is the most direct way to mitigate the agency problem. If there is no meaningful link between CEO compensation and company performance, it is doubtful that the large sums of assets in public corporations are being managed efficiently. In theory the solution is simple reward the CEO when shareholders wealth increases. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if there is a relationship between company performance and CEO compensation among Swedish companies, in materials and information technology industry.

This study is a qualitative content analysis which sets out to examine the representation of stereotypic masculine traits amongst the main characters in two films from The Swedish Institute of Film's (Svenska Filminstitutets) selection for ?School Cinema? (Skolbio). The study is operationalised through the use of a scheme, constructed by Lorraine Evans and Kimberly Davies for their study No sissy boys here, which maps stereotypical masculine and feminine traits and originates from Sandra Lipsitz Bems ?Sex Role Inventory?. The masculine traits in the scheme are: aggressive, competitive, argumentative, decisive, assertive, risk-taking, self-reliant and adventurous, and the feminine are: affectionate, emotionally expressive, impetuous, nurturing, panicky, passive, tender, and understanding.

En studie av rörelsen mot en processorienterad sjukvårdsorganisation - eller hur man får upp strutsar ur sanden

Health care costs in relation to GDP are escalating all over Europe and the Swedish health care industry is not an exception. Between 30 and 50 percent of resources used in health care are considered waste, in the sense that they don't contribute to increased health. This illustrates the big need for hospitals to become more efficient which is why many hospitals today are trying to move towards a process-oriented organization. This paper therefore aims to identify the elements necessary for this type of organizational change, the barriers encountered when moving from a functional to process oriented hospital as well as how to overcome them. The case study was conducted at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset and shows the importance of not just transmitting a sense of urgency but also communicating that the upcoming change is long term.

The aim is to describe and analyze how the branch of real estate works with confidence and codes of conduct.Method:I have an qualitative approach in which interviews have been used to collect data and literature studies to collect theoretical information. The collected material have been analyzed from a hermeneutical perspective.Result & Conclusions:To some extent the real estate branch works with the establishment of Codes of Conduct to strengthen the confidence. This is shown by increased transparency to increase customers commitment in the bidding. As confidence has been risen for the part of the process this indicate that Codes Of Conduct has the ability to strengthen the confidence for the real estate as a branch.Suggestions for future research:One topic that is interesting to study is how the real estate brokerage companies could controll their stakeholders to follow the company´s guidelines for social responsibility.Contribution of the thesis:The thesis gives people involved in real estate branch suggestions on how a trust could be built up by working with Codes of Conduct.Key words:Corporate Social Responsibility, Code of Conduct, confidence, real estate broker, the bransch of real estate..

Känslan i bilden : Sociala taggars användbarhet vid bildsökning i Flickr

Image indexing research today is either conducted on a visual attribute level or on a higher semantic level, forming a semantic gap between the two. There is much to gain if research progress from the two fields is combined. Image retrieval using access points in both visual and semantic significations could improve retrieval and bridge the gap. In social media today, images are often the primary communication agent and the number of images on the web is increasing in an uncontrolled way. New and efficient ways to index and retrieve the images are needed.The purpose of this study is to examine if emotions could be a semantic access point for image retrieval and if folksonomy indexing is useful when searching for images that represent emotions.

Att vara eller att icke vara agent? : En analys av flickor och pojkars texter ur ett genusperspektiv

Denna studie syftar till att bidra med kunskap om vilka betydelser som skrivs fram i yngre elevers narrativa texter. Hur pojkar och flickor förhåller sig till genus när de skriver berättelser och hur deras berättelser kan förstås i förhållande till den systemiskt funktionella grammatiken är denna studies huvudfokus. Genom institutionen för pedagogik, didaktik och utbildningsstudier fick vi ta del av redan insamlat material. Data för vår studie utgjordes av 18 texter skrivna av elever i årskurs 2 vid ett enskilt tillfälle. Med systemisk funktionell grammatik som teoretisk bas utfördes en transitivitetsanalys och en ergativitetsanalys, för att besvara följande frågeställningar: Med vilka processtyper realiseras mening i de olika elevtexterna? Hur skrivs agentivitet och påverkanskraft (ergativitet) fram i processerna? Hur samspelar agentivitet och genusidentitet i texterna med skribenternas kön? Vi fann att relationella och materiella processer är vanligast förekommande i både pojkar och flickors texter.

The etiological agent is the obligate intracellular bacteria Lawsonia intracellularis. L. intracellularis infects enterocytes from jejunum to colon. The bacteria is taken into cells and start to replicate and cause a massive proliferation of immature enterocytes.

The method used to meet the objective was qualitative. The qualitative study was conducted with a hermeneutic basis, where individuals were asked to describe their experience of empowerment and how they feel affected of it. This thesis has a deductive approach, where existing theories dealing empowerment formed the basis for the design of interview substrate, which is then paired with the empirical evidence, based on this the conclusions was drawn.Result & Conclusion:What separates the different kinds of empowerment and how it affect the staff depends most of all on how the management chooses to communicate and share information with their staff.Suggestions for future research:A study regarding managers that works with different kinds of empowerment, and how that affects them, could be regarded as an interesting future research.Contribution of thesis:It shows that different kinds of empowerment affect the staff in different ways, which I made clear to the readers.Keywords:empowerment, thinking skills, relations and organizational - structure and theory.

This pilot study describes a therapy method for persons withBroca´s aphasia. This method is based on the mapping hypothesis (Schwartz,Saffran & Marin 1980). The mapping hypothesis is based on the assumptionthat agrammatism is caused by an inability to combine syntactic structurewith thematic roles. This study describes a combination of the therapymethod mentioned above and the Everyday life activities photo series (ELA,Stark 1992). The aim of the study was to investigate if therapy based on awritten sentence/picture format is a viable starting-point for future research.The therapy presented combined written sentences with pictures describingeveryday life activities.

Gränslösa broar och besvärande barriärer! - en studie om gränsöverskridande samverkan i ett franchiseföretag

Problemformulering: Organisatoriska gränser orsakar i viss mån ett hinder för företags målfokusering; i ett franchiseföretag blir detta problem ännu mer komplext då gränserna tydliggörs i form av skilda ägarförhållanden. Vi vill i denna uppsats undersöka hur franchiseföretag hanterar de problem som uppstår på grund av dessa gränser. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att öka kunskapen om svårigheter och möjligheter med gränsöverskridande samverkan i ett franchiseföretag. Forskningsfråga: Vilka problem kan organisatoriska gränser ge upphov till och vilka möjligheter finns det att överskrida dessa? Teori: Vi använder oss av teorier kring bland annat agent-principal-problematiken, gränsöverskridande samverkan, informella och formella styrsystem samt belöningssystem.
