Communication between people who already know eachother, and who use a social online platform to do so, have been thouroghly studied for years. Thus, the majority of the people we connect with on a day to day basis are friends and acquaintances. As children we were taught not to talk to strangers, and as we grew older we learned to avoid people who act suspiciously. These and many other factors are part of the reason we avoid strangers, but are we doing so wrongfully? Studies have shown that there are many benefits in everyday interaction with strangers, some of which are an estimated increase in happiness and letting people seemingly forget about previous grievances.

Background: Many people within the health care system experience uncertainty. Uncertainty can be described as a feeling, a condition or as a phenomenon. Uncertainty is often associated with stress and an emotional burden among patients. It?s important for the nurse to have knowledge about the expressions of uncertainty to get a higher appreciation for the patients? situation.

Homelessness has always been and will always be a problem in every society. How should we organize the work and care for these people? There are three different types of welfare states, the liberal, the conservative and the social democratic. In the liberal welfare state the market is the supplier of the public good. In the conservative state the family and church and in the social democratic the state is the supplier of the public welfare.The Swedish welfare state has been the archetype of social democratic welfare with de principal of ?Folkhemmet? in focus.

The aim of this two years master thesis in Library and information science is to study the foundation Centrum för lättläst and its work regarding information use with focus on information structures and information needs. The aim is also to examine how Centrum för lättläst cooperate with Swedish libraries to promote the work concerning people with reading disabilities. This master thesis applies a domain analytic theory and method inspired by Birger Hjørland. The domain analysis is confined to examine ontology, epistemology, sociology, empirical user studies, document and genre studies and studies of structures and institutions in scientific communication. The main source material consists of information from the homepage of Centrum för lättläst.

This paper supports the thesis that creative consumer advertising also can be used as a recruitment tool. By increasing the level of creativity used in their communication, a company can affect the attractiveness of themselves as future employers. The creative advertising influences the brands perceived creativity. It also increases the perceived social, development- and reputational value as well as the future intentions with the brand. By being more creative the brand is also viewed as making more marketing effort, which in turn affects the perceived potential of the brand in a positive way.

This study is a comparative analysis of how Hollywood portrays people from the Middle East before and after 9/11. The films used to conduct this study are True Lies (1994), The Siege (1998), The Kingdom (2007) and Body of Lies (2008). With a qualitative methodology, discourse analysis and postcolonial theory this study analysed not only how people from the Middle East is portrayed, but also how the Americans in the films are presented and how the characters in the films changed in the movies produced after 9/11.     The results show that people from the Middle East are portrayed in a negative way and that Hollywood uses stereotypes. However, people from the Middle East are more gradated in the films post-9/11. There is a bigger focus on Islam in the movies produced after 9/11 and the study also shows that family values play a less central part in the story in the films made after 9/11 and that work is of more importance.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om samtidiga höga krav och låg kontroll vid användning av informations- och kommunikationsteknik (IKT) är associerat med en upplevelse av mental stress hos individer som arbetar i kontorsmiljö. Metoden som användes var en kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie med ett deskriptivt förhållningssätt och undersökte 40 yrkesverksamma individer som mestadels arbetade stillasittande på kontor där arbetet innebär att de dagligen använde sig av IKT-verktyg. Resultaten bearbetades i statistikprogrammet SPSS med hjälp av en deskriptiv beskrivande statistik. Resultatet från studien visade att respondenter upplever mer stress vid samtidiga höga krav och låg kontroll vid användning av IKT än respondenter som inte upplever höga krav och låg kontroll när de använder IKT. Slutsats: Om resultat som framkommit i denna studie kan styrkas i framtida liknade studier bör insatser syfta till att öka anställdas känsla av delaktighet och möjlighet till att styra över användningen samt inlärning av IKT-verktyg. Vidare forskning för att undersöka hur socialt stöd på arbetsplatsen påverkar upplevelsen av krav och kontroll kopplat till stress vid användning av IKT skulle vara av intresse..

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur instrumentallärare bemöter och undervisar nervösa elever. Fyra lärare har intervjuats, två från en kulturskola och två från en musikhögskola. Resultatet visar på vikten av att sätta relationen mellan läraren och eleven i centrum. Läraren har stora möjligheter att påverka en elevs nervositet både på ett positivt och negativt sätt, beroende på hur man är som person och genom sitt sätt att bemöta eleven. Det är viktigt att lära känna eleven och vara uppmärksam och lyhörd på hur denne är och mår.

This study is an evaluation of one course given by the Swedish Forest Agency in Uppsala.

Many reports in recent years are suggesting that young people should be involved in the development of the digital society. The Swedish government's Digidel campaign launched in 2011 involved adolescents to train elderly people. This thesis builds on the campaign with its major aim being to investigate how young people think about digital society and their own knowledge and skills to promote digital inclusion.The research questions were set to examine how adolescents look upon the competencies needed in today's digital society, what specific skills and capital the adolescents suggest that they have which can promote digital inclusion and how projects in this direction are perceived by the participants. The theoretical framework is based on theories about social capital. It encompasses Bourdieu's theories about symbolic capital and people's habitus, Putnam's theories about social capital and the power of the organization and Gidden's vision about how people are organizing themselves in the modern world.

Regarding death in youth movies,analysis of Hunger Games and I Miss You  Today, death is not as present in our everyday life as it was before when everyone knew how death both looked and smelled. This means that media today has a different role and that media can help their viewers to mourn and become aware of death in a completely different way. In this study, death is analyzed as an representation; how it affects and is experienced in two selected youth films, The Hunger Games, (Gary Ross, 2012) and Jag saknar dig/I Miss You (Anders Grönros, 2011).Previous studies mostly analysis death as a figure, and in accordance with these studies have concentrated on different physical descriptions of death; often about diseases or how death is portrayed in the news. In my opinion, these studies lack the perspective of how death is presented, but also how young people respond to these deceptions of death. This essay highlight different perspectives and show more of how death occurs, how the cinematic look is described and how young people react to what is happening on the screen.

This paper aims to create a better understanding for how executing private matters during work hours affect the individual worker. In todays world the access to social medias, the Internet and all your friends is easy to access due to smartphones and computers. Prior research as described this both as a threat against the productivity of the worker and the moral of the workplace. While others mean that it is a source of recovery and something positive.This thesis uses a qualitative method and fifteen interviews where conducted with people between 20-30 years, who where working and living in Sweden. It doesn´t matter if you are an immigrant, suffer from dyslexia or just don´t like to read.In this study I test the difference between a normal written and an easy-to-read routine. I want to know if there is a way to improve a routine in such a way that even people without pre-understanding can comprehend the content.Routines are an important part in many organisations. Staffroutines in nursinghomes don´t exist just to ensure that caretakers are being taken care of in the right way according to the rules and wishes of the organisation. They also exist to make the work with people who suffer from dementia easier for the staff.Routines are in other words very important.

This essay examines resident experiences and notions of the Gotland countryside and their ideas about the future. In particular the countryside is studied as both space and place. In space and place people interacting. People are therefore important components in the study of the landscape. One can say that the landscape and the interaction between people affect resident experiences and notions of the countryside, as well as people certainly affect the landscape.
