Den svenska invandraren: En studie om utlandssvenskar och återvändare
Should I/we move abroad or not? This is a question that surely many of today?s expatriate Swedes asked themselves and was probably largely debated by most. How does is feel to move back to Sweden? I have chosen to contact a number of expatriate Swedes and some that have returned, in order to receive answers to these questions.The aim with this thesis is to study the experiences and thoughts of people living in a different country as to were they were born and also those of people returning to Sweden. I have used a hermeneutic analytical method alongside a socio-psychological identity perspective when I studied the replies of my 69 respondents.
Ett aktivt val? : En studie om äldre personers boende och vilka mekanismer som styr deras val av boende
The objective of this study was to explore the mechanisms controlling elderly people's choice of staying in there own home.The main questions were: What makes some people move to retirement homes while some people stay in their own home? What is the emotional relation to housing for people in general and elderly people in particular? How does the assessment of aid and application of the law affect elderly people's possibility to choose their way of living? What mechanisms during the twentieth century have controlled the society's way of looking on elderly people's housing? What future scenarios can we expect concerning elderly people's housing?Our method consisted of a literature study combined with qualitative interviews.The authors found a complex picture concerning elderly people's relationship to their housing and the will, wishes and possibilities to move to a retirement home or stay in their own home. One factor that affects elderly people's will to move is a deteriorated health. Another is the increased need of a safe living and access to personnel at all time. Also the assessment of aid and application of the law affect elderly people's possibility to stay at home or to move to a retirement home.

The purpose of this essay was to analyze if and how teenagers think about immigrants and Swedes, the relationship between them and to find out where these thoughts originate from. The essay consisted of four main questions; do the teenagers think in terms of immigrants and Swedes? How do the teenagers reason in terms of who is an immigrant and who is Swedish? What do they think about the relationship between immigrants and Swedes? Where do these opinions originate from?The study was based on eight interviews conducted with teenagers born in 1987. Our conclusion of the study was that it is not easy to determine who is Swedish and who is not. It was clear in this study though that looks and behaviour were utterly important.

This study examines the connection between social capital and urban and rural areas. The study divides the environments into two categories; metropolises and rural areas. Metropolises are defined as any of Swedens largest cities Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö. The study also examines if there is a difference between these groups in how high social trust they have to people living in the same areas as themselves versus people who live in other areas. The studie also focuses on the urbanization that the world is going through, where people move from rural areas into the cities for work and education.

Common questions that show up when a company is making it´s businessplan are how to target the market and how to use marketing as a tool to reach a specific customer or segment. It is difficult to know wether to target the market in different ways and what processes that can be used in the choice how to select the most potential and profitable customer. Another important question is how a company can positioning themself in a way so the customer will get a positive understanding of the company and what different positive abilities to mention in a possible businessproposal. This study is made on a small company in Sweden called AYEN Technology.

Between 1814 and 1905 Sweden was in a union with Norway. During this time the two countries collaborated in many ways but there were also several differences between them. Swedish people went to Norway, often to find work, and this essay aims to examine who they were. An archive in Värmland, which people returning to Sweden during the years 1894 to 1903 were registered in, gives information about these people. From this we learn that they were mostly men in the ages 15 to 44 and they came from all over the country.

We are also going to revise which aids visually impaired people use today, and how they work in practise. What problems can you run into when you use these aids? We are also going to revise how the webpages design affect the use of the Internet for the visually impaired people.

Ethnic discrimination is still a problem in the Swedish employment market. The Ombudsman against Ethnic Discrimination received 154 complaints relating to discrimination due to ethnicity in the working life in 2012. In addition, reported unemployment rates in Sweden differ markedly between native-born and foreign-born. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how protection against ethnic discrimination in recruitment looks like in Sweden and describe different methods an employer may use to prevent that ethnic discrimination occurs in recruitment situations. The first and second issue of the essay concern what protection there is in Sweden against ethnic discrimination in recruitment situations, based on international and national law. The traditional legal dogmatic method, which describes the valid law, is used in these sections.

The LSH-study started in 2003 at the department of Health and Society at the University of Linköping. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between life condition, stress and health. A total of 1007 people from ten different health centres in Östergötlands län participated. At the follow up, a couple of years later, 795 of the 1007 participated. 127 of the 212 in the attrition turned down the follow up, twelve people were not invited (for example in case of death) and the rest did not respond at all.

This thesis is about how the library can help immigrants integrate into theswedish society. By studying leading documents of the libraries in Malmö,Stockholm and Umeå in search for how the relate to work consideringimmigrants and integration I have studied the library as a bridge betweenbeing included and excluded in the society. The thought is that the libraryopens the door to new worlds both for immigrants and born swedes toobtain knowledge about a culture different from their own.In my thesis I reached the conclusion that library on a day to day basisworks with the integrationprocess for immigrants. Although the leadingdocuments should evolve since they show gaps and seem somewhatmisguiding in their presentation of the libraries function. The librariesshould work more with analysis of the environment that they are active in sothat they are more individualized for the people around it.
UxU : En kvalitativ analys av uppfattningar om, och kommunikationen kring, en musikfestival i Umeå
This bachelors thesis examines how av new musicfestival in Umea is communicated on thefestivals website and how the communication is beeing percepted by people who have boughttickets to the festival and people who have chosen not to. The material is based on qualitativeinterviews with theese people and a discourse analysis of the website. The methods beeingused in this thesis are discourse analysis and qualitative interviews. The interviews focuses ontwo groups, people who have bought tickets to the festival and the ones who has not. Theresults of the analysis shows that the website uxufestival.se communicates the vision of aunique festival who brings people together.

The city contains a great multitude of people of different ages and different lifestyles and the urban environment should be planned and designed for everyone to take part in the social life of the city. The main reason among people for heading towards the city centre is to make purchases or to run errands, but also the social aspects are very important. A socially active city is worth striving for as an empty city can lead to unsecurity, fear and hostility between people. This paper discusses mainly the possibilities to encourage people to do physical activities on public places in the city. In Sweden the lifestyle of people in general has changed to the worse in aspects of health over the last decades which has led to the fact that many people in Sweden today suffer from obesity.
Världsvan från födseln? : En explorativ studie av hur uppsalabaserade entreprenöriella programvaruföretag kommer i kontakt med utländska kunder
I inledningen förklarar vi vårt intresse för svenska företag som har framgång utomlands, och hur vi utgick ifrån detta, våra personliga perspektiv och ett intresse för så kallade born globals då vi valde fokus för uppsatsen. Vi avgränsade oss till att undersöka entreprenöriella uppsalabaserade programvaruföretag med utländska kunder, vilka kan sägas vara bra representanter för born global kategorin. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur dessa kommer i kontakt med sina internationella kunder.Teoriavsnittet inleds med en orientering av traditionell internationaliseringsteori och varför denna inte är applicerbar på born globals, varpå en definition av detta begrepp följer. Därefter presenteras en modell för att förklara uppkomsten av born globals, där vikten av intern kunskap framhävs. Vad avser specifikt hur själva kontakten med kunderna uppstår, är ett område där vi inte funnit några förklaringar i teorin.Vi har ur en företagsdatabas sorterat ut de företag som stämmer in på våra kriterier för studien.
Hunter demography, trends and correlates of hunting participation in Sweden
The concerning issue of declining number of hunters in North America is also apparent in Europe and Sweden. When the bulk of research found on human dimensions and hunting participation has almost exclusively been done in the United States, this report seeks to add to the needed knowledge on a national level focusing on the causes of hunter declines related to social factors within Sweden. Using hunter data reaching from commune, county to National level, this report describes the correlation between a number of variables and the hunting participation in Sweden.The typical Swedish hunter lives in an area with low population density, the person usually has higher education, the living situation is stable with no recent moving and there is relatively good access to forest land. Persons with weaker connection to the Swedish culture such as foreign citizens, people with foreign background and people born outside ?the Nordic countries? are less likely to start hunt or participate in hunting.A strong relationship was found between the favorite game, moose (Alces alces), and the amount of hunters participating in the hunting.
Den svenska modeindustrins internationalisering : Fem branschspecifika företag
Den svenska modeindustrin spås en ljus framtid och har trots 2000-taletslågkonjunktur nått nya exportrekord. Den tuffa inhemska konkurrensen har gjort attetablering på utländska marknader blivit avgörande för de svenska modeföretagen.Det finns dock endast begränsad kunskap om internationaliseringsprocessen för dennabransch.Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka metoder som används av små ochmedelstora svenska modeföretag vid internationalisering och de bakomliggandeorsakerna till dessa metoder.Studien baseras på en kvalitativ undersökning av fem svenska modeföretag som sedananalyserats med ett teoretiskt ramverk av internationaliseringsprocesser.Resultatet visar att det inte finns en applicerbar modell för branschensinternationalisering. De studerade företagen har alla inlett internationaliseringen medetableringar på enstaka närliggande, lågriskmarknader. Företagen har därefter ändratriktning i sin internationaliseringsprocess då marknader längre bort penetrerats. Vidvalet av dessa marknader har tidigare erhållen intern kunskap och nätverk, varitavgörande.
