Då medellivslängden bland Sveriges befolkning ökar stadigt samt att vi idag är friskare och piggare i högre ålder har frågan om pensionsåldern åter gjorts aktuell. Mot denna bakgrund har regeringen tillsatt en utredningsgrupp för att analysera för- och nackdelar samt konsekvenserna av ett längre arbetsliv. Då detta väckte många negativa reaktioner i media fångades vårt intresse för frågan, särskilt då den genomsnittliga pensionsåldern idag ligger på ca 63 år bland människor som anses fysiskt och psykiskt friska att arbeta fram till 65 års ålder.Syftet är att undersöka om och i så fall hur äldre människor kan motiveras att stanna kvar längre i arbetslivet samt om det finns ett behov av motivationsteorier för äldre människor. Denna kunskap ska förhoppningsvis sedan kunna användas av arbetsgivare som är intresserade av att behålla sina äldre anställda samt bidra till vidare forskning runt åldersbaserad motivationsteori.Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie med induktiv ansats. Forskningen har bedrivits med tvärsnittsdesign och empiri har huvudsakligen samlats in med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer.Det vi kom fram till i denna uppsats var att äldre människor, under rätt förutsättningar, kan motiveras att stanna kvar längre i arbetslivet.

Many organizations utilize decision support systems in order to handle different tasks and tosupport the decision-making process. Decision support system is a broad term used to referto several different types of systems. These types of systems can handle a wide range ofoperations within the organization. Consequently this will have an impact on differentoperations within the organization. The main aim of this study was to create a betterunderstanding regarding the impact of decision support systems on the various operationswithin the City Council's procurement units which in turn will increase effectiveness.

The aim of this essay is to examine three separate Swedish public libraries and their respective websites on the grounds of the usability sciences. I firstly had to summarize the main properties of the usability-field in order to gain an extended knowledge of its purposes and possible usage for today?s library systems. I was then able to apply the extended knowledge in the examination of the three library websites and the purpose of determining whether or not they were designed according to the standards set by the usability-sciences.Usability is a rather new science that deals with the dissection and examination of computer-based systems, in order to find the key components that make systems user-friendlier. With user needs being the main focus of its research, usability tries to meet all the different needs of the modern user and construct systems that are less system-centered and more user-centered.

Wastewater handling of private sewage systems has become an all increasing matter. In Stockholm region the 90 000 private sewage systems contribute with larger phosphorus flows to the Baltic Sea than the two biggest sewage plants in the area, Henriksdal and Käppala, contribute together, even though these two plants purify wastewater from more than one million inhabitants. When summer house areas turn into areas for permanent living ? transition areas ? the load on the existing systems increases, systems that already often are unsatisfying. In those areas it is not clear what the best system choice is; On-site systems for single households; Local collective systems or Connection to central systems.

Detta examensarbete är den avslutande delen av utbildningen inom maskinteknik på Linnéuniversitetet i Växjö under våren 2013. Arbetet utfördes i samarbete med Rottne Industri AB där skogsmaskiner utvecklas och tillverkas för skogsbruk. Projektet innefattar utveckling av en hjulupphängningskomponent kallad ?hjularm? tillhörande företagets ledande produkt, skördaren H-8. Resultatet slutade i en ny design av hjularmen med hjälp av CAD-modellering, Systems Engineering och FEM-analysering..

Earlier studies of musculoskeletal problems with milkers working in milking parlour operators have shown that it is a physically demanding occupation. The extremities that are most exposed are neck, shoulders, hands and wrists. Those systems that have been studied in present cases are fishbone and some tandem barns. There have been changes in the working environment during the past ten years. The mechanisation has been developed for the better with automatically removers of the milking units and vertically adjustable floors in almost every daily milking barn. In other hand the milk production are more industrialised and more related to stress today.

ABSTRACTThis pilot study examines the knowledge about tree root systems amongst five treeplanting professionals. The aim is to find out the professionals? collective knowledge ofthe nature of root systems of various trees used in green areas. Furthermore; to explorehow the professionals adapt landscaped green areas to the tree root properties in asustainable manner. Questions: Which tree species have special root properties toconsider and how do the professionals utilize this knowledge? And: How do theprofessionals in general adjust planting according to the root systems of trees in areas tocreate sustainable green environments?Interviews with the professionals were performed.

There exist several known methods for calculation of radio coverage for ground-based systems. As far as we know there are no equivalent methods for the case of flying platforms when the altitudes and speeds are significantly different to those of ground-based systems. This thesis describes the theoretical concepts behind calculations of radio coverage for flying platforms. An investigation is made to sort out what is important and possible to employ in a model for simulations. A method is described and implemented in a program for evaluation of flying radio systems.

The impact of computer programs in safety-critical systems has increased in the past decades and computer-based systems can now be found in a wide range of applications. A new approach for developing dependable systems is documenting all design rationale that affects safety using Intent Specifications. A recent approach for developing complex systems efficiently and in an upgradeable manner is Component-Based System Engineering. In this thesis, these approaches are combined in the development and upgrade of a Remote Robot Control Unit by using the tool SpecTRM. The case study showed that Intent Specifications and CBSE could successfully be combined.

This master thesis project will describe and evaluate the interfaces between applications and Controller Area Network, CAN, interface boards from different manufacturers. The interfaces have corresponding functions but the usage of parameters is different. The simply communication of sending and receiving messages is more alike than the supplementary functions between the different interfaces. The CAN communication is more controlled by the CAN protocol and is therefore more alike. The evaluation shows differences and similarities between different interfaces and also difficulties and options to translate them.

This thesis describes the new construction of a small house and it includes studies of three heating systems: geothermal heating, district heating and pellet. The purpose of this thesis is to project a small house which can manage Building Regulations, BBR conditions and then examine three possible heating systems for the small house. This thesis is a literature study which gives an understanding of the heating systems technical structure, properties and costs. An empirical study completes the literature study by giving a deeper understanding of district heating costs and pellet costs. The empirical study contains two interviews, one of which was conducted in a district heating corporation and the other interview was conducted in a pellet corporation.

Sammanfattning Syfte: Diabetes är en växande folksjukdom och år 2000 rapporterade Världshälsoorganisationen (WHO) att 171 miljoner har diagnosen diabetes mellitus. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka en diabetikers val av utbildning, yrke, pension, fritid och investering av hälsa. För att få en förklaring till om valen är olika för diabetiker och ickediabetiker undersöks möjliga bakomliggande faktorer, framförallt effekten av den individuella hälsoinvesteringen. Metod: För att utreda diabetikerns val analyseras besluten utifrån Michael Grossmans teori om efterfråga på hälsa och effekten av individens egna hälsoinvesteringen. För att ta fram eventuella bakomliggande faktorer används Gary Beckers ekonomiska teorier om humankapital och Follands (et al, 2004) framställning av försäkringsteorin.

This bachelor thesis aims to analyse the effects of changes in management control systems following acquisitions, and deduce whether or not these effects are in line with the acquiring firm's objectives of the acquisition. Through a case study of technician consultant firm Energo, acquired in 2010 by ÅF, the study assumes the perspective of the acquired firm. Data has been collected through in-depth interviews at Energo and ÅF and complemented by internal documents to enrich and validate specific facts and statements. Data was then arranged and analysed through Otley and Fierriera's (2009) framework Performance Management Systems to understand how management control systems were constituted before the acquisition, what changes were made following the acquisition, how this process was accomplished and how it was experienced, in order to come to conclusions about the effects of these changes. The study concludes that the changes in Energo's management control system following the integration with ÅF, had significant effects on the outcome of the acquisition, primarily as it led to a high rate of Energo's employees resigning.
