Several studies have analysed the relationship between Normalised DifferenceVegetation Index (NDVI) and radiative surface temperature. A main goal for moststudies have been to find the best method for carrying out land cover classificationsand to study land cover changes, based on a combination between the twoparameters. Since atmospheric components have a significant influence on bothparameters, most applications were based on multi-temporal data. The quality of theindividual values in such a combination is improved, but the biophysical justificationis uncertain. This study presents a different method, based on only the combination ofvalues that have been registered the same day and about the same time of the day.125 daily images of NDVI and 250 images of radiometric temperature were used inorder to analyse the relationship between (1) NDVI and radiative temperature and (2)NDVI and relative temperature difference between early morning and mid-day.Results between NDVI and radiative temperature show a significant negativecorrelation on areas where a distinct growing season develops, and a strong positivcorrelation where vegetation is abscent throghout the season.

The history of rhetorics in documentary film is a long one. The French brothers Louise and Auguste Lumiére were among the first persons who produced a documentary and their work has had a big impression in the history of documentary during the 1900 century. John Grierson has been called ?the father? of documentary film. He produced films in the English speaking part of the world and he is the founder of the concept ?documentary film?.

Att baka med surdeg är en dagsaktuell trend. Surdegen, som länge fått ge vika för jästen, har fått ett rejält uppsving. Den förekommer på bagerier, hemma hos konsumenter och även i media. Kunskapen om att jäsa bröd med surdeg härstammar från Egypten ca 3000 år f.v.t. men lär ha kommit till Sverige ca 4000 år senare.

Det här är ett examensarbete i Reglerteknik utfört på SSAB Tunnplåt AB i Luleå och Luleå tekniska universitet. Igensättningar som beror på att slag, stål och oxider fäster inuti gjutröret har länge varit ett av de största problemen inom kontinuerlig stränggjutning av aluminiumsläkt stål. På senare år har forskare och tekniker intresserat sig för detta problem både i Sverige och internationellt. Igensättningar orsakar många kvalitets- och processtyrnings relaterade problem. De extremt lågkolhaltiga stål med hög hållfasthet och speciallegeringar, speciellt titan, som produceras på SSAB i Luleå kräver extra bra processtyrning.

En chef använder olika färdigheter i sin vardag t ex kommunikation,relationsskapande och beslutsfattande. Likväl som chefen agerar med olikaledarstilar utifrån kontexten och medarbetarna. Kvaliteten på chefensfärdigheter och agerande kan bedömas i en medarbetarenkät därmedarbetaren även bedömer sitt och gruppens välbefinnande. Enmedarbetarenkät ska vara ett stöd för chefen att utveckla sitt ledarskap ochsin verksamhet. Denna uppsats analyserar de tio bästa och de tio sämstaenheterna från en medarbetarenkät i ett landsting.

Veterinary medicine is not merely an area of occupation but also an area of business. In a business the customer service is its identity and brand and more importantly what makes the client choose and recommend the clinic to other potential customers. The licensed veterinary nurse is habitually the one who first meets the clients at the clinic. Therefore it is particularly important for the licensed veterinary nurse at the clinic to offer high-quality customer service. The object of this study was to understand and elucidate how the pet owners experience the encounter with the licensed veterinary nurse at different stages in their contact with the clinic.

The purpose of this essay is to examine at how to portray characters in the stories and narratives which depicts one of these children's books and if they really have something to ethnicity and its identification to be done.The Research questions is: What are the different identification markers given, to the reading child in the books, which might indicate that the story depicts people of different ethnicities? How are the characters portrayed in the story and which role is assigned to the main character? What story is portrayed and is it relevant to an identifier can occur?The conclusions of the five children's books shows that it is important with identifications markers, to show that there are different ethnicities. For example the analysis revealed the specific features of the illustrations and how the books portrayes someone with a different ethnicity and cultural background as something exotic.In the texts, the analysis showed how it occurred ethnic differences, by explicitly demonstrating differences between the characters. It was found that the characters were produced mostly as good, happy, curious, suspicious and unsympathetic. Common to all the main characters was that they had been placed, in one for them unusual context and that they were trying to assimilate to the new situations.Depictions consisted of realism and fiction.

Syfte: Att undersöka om det finns belägg för att contrarian strategier genererar högre avkastning än Stockholmsbörsens marknadsindex och om detta i så fall beror på en småbolagseffekt. Metod: I vår event studie valde vi att undersöka stockholmsbörsen under åren 1993 till 2005. Under perioden skapade vi 8 portföljer med 20 aktier i varje, för dessa bolag satte vi ett gränsvärde på 150 Mkr. Vi utförde även ett liknande försök men då med en gräns på 1 miljard och satte antal aktier i portföljen till 10. Detta för att testa förekomsten av en småbolagseffekt på våra resultat.

This essay is an introduction to the intentions and purposes of the british play writer Sarah Kane (1971-1999). Her own voice is presented both via quotations linked to her work and by an explanation of her connections to the surrealist poet and actor Antonin Artaud. The main focus is on Kane?s second play, Phaedra?s Love, first performed in 1996. The play is analyzed in co-relation to La volonté de savoir, the first volume in Michel Foucault?s trilogy Histoire de la sexualité.

I denna studie undersöks fondstorlekens inverkan på prestation i form av avkastning. Dagens ekonomier utmärks av hög volatilitet och innehåller många perioder av upp- och nedgångar, vilket påverkar valet av investering. Sverige är bäst på fondsparande i världen på så sätt att störst andel av befolkningen sparar i fonder, där aktiefonder är populärast. Vi frågar oss i denna uppsats om storleken av en aktiefond även kan vara något man bör ta hänsyn till i sitt val av fonder. Genom att undersöka 26 svenska aktiefonder i perioder av upp- och nedgångar på den svenska marknaden under åren 2000-2011 och jämföra deras prestation inbördes och mot index, så utreder vi om storlek har betydelse.

Bakgrund och problem: Icke vinstdrivande organisationer, så som idrottsförbund ellerskolor, är verksamheter som karaktäriseras av resursmässig ineffektivitet. Detta har avförfattare förklarats av att det finns incitamentsskillnader i vinstdrivande organisationer,så som att ha äganderätt i residualen. Det finns idag ingen lösning för hur detta probleminom icke vinstdrivande organisationer ska behandlas, men utifrån studier och teorierföreslås att en ekonomisk reglering skulle kunna vara lösningen.Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka om en ekonomisk reglering, på en marknad medicke vinstdrivande organisationer, kan leda till förändrad kostnadseffektivitet.Metod: Vi har utfört en kvantitativ studie där vi med hjälp av UEFA:s Financial FairPlay-reglering studerat Europas bästa fotbollsklubbar för att ta reda på hur deraskostnadseffektivitet har påverkats av regleringen. Att mäta kostnadseffektivitet gjordevi genom att använda Data Envelopment Analysis och Malmquist TFP index.Slutsatser: Vi lyckades inte med denna studie påvisa att en ekonomisk reglering kangöra icke vinstdrivande organisationer mer kostnadseffektiva. Anledningar till detta kanvara att det inte har skett någon teknologisk utveckling i branschen samt att destuderade klubbarna blivit sämre på att vara effektiva med sina resurser.

Syftet med denna studie var att kartlägga retentionen av resinbaserade fissurförseglingar på sexårsmolarer utförda på studentklinik. Karies registrerades även på övriga sexårsmolarer. Materialet utgjordes av 51 barn födda år 1999 eller 2000 med minst en fissurförsegling på sexårsmolaren utförd av tandläkarstudent. Fissurförseglingen skulle vara utförd i Delton® och ha en minsta uppföljningstid på ett år. Data registrerades från journaler avseende allmänhälsa, medicinering, kariesdata och riskgrupp.

This bachelor thesis examines the relation between countries? degree of economic freedom and their economic performance. Economic freedom as a concept is defined as the degree of market economy within a nation.The variable of measure that is used is the Frasier institute Economic freedom of the world index (EFI). The paper is built upon the Solow growth model and is extended by incorporation of additional variables; among which of course economic freedom. The study is performed through regression analysis, based on the neoclassical model both on rich countries, poor countries and on all investigated countries.Two investigations are performed: i) the impact from economic freedom on countries level of GDP per capita and ii) the impact from economic freedom on the growth rate in GDP per capita.The finding is that economic freedom can be seen as a relevant determinant of differences in GDP per capita growth rates between nations.

In healthy dogs, heart rate fluctuates during the day. Heart rate variability (HRV) reflects the autonomic nervous system´s regulation of the cardiovascular unit. Heart rate variability shows the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, also called sympathovagal balance. Heart rate variability can be measured by time domain - and frequency domain analysis. In a time domain analysis you study the beat-to-beat-interval (RR-interval) in an electrocardiogram (ECG), while a frequency domain analysis can be used to determine the size of the variability.

This project was a collaboration with Kajsa Bergström. The projected was to develop the French/English deck of cards. We replaced the knight, queen and king with the numbers 11, 12 and 13. We worked with separate aesthetics and solutions after making that common change. I worked on an idea on how to make the cards look slim, by adapting a handcrafted look, full of details.
