The main purpose of this Master thesis is to illuminate the understanding of local politicians regarding the public libraries and the librarians. We argue that the local politicians´ opinions regarding public libraries and librarians influence the way they act and react in their roles as politicians.In order to achieve the aim of this thesis we focused on following questions:What are the opinions of the politicians:- regarding themselves in relation to the public library?- concerning public libraries in general and its functions especially in the municipalities of their own?- concerning the librarians and their work in a public function?What are the conclusions to be drawn regarding the politicians´ interest and commitment to public libraries in the politic daily-life of the municipalities? Our empiric material consists of qualitative interviews with six politicians elected in two municipalities in the interior of Västerbotten, a northern sparsely populated district. In order to distinguish the various opinions that emerge from the material, we apply a phenomenographic approach. The analysis result we present in three conceivable categories in order to express the different opinions.In general our study points at a positive and favourable attitude to the public library, and all the respondents assume that the municipality ought to offer this service.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om hur lärare tänker kring att omsätta teorier i praktiken. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie vars syfte är att skapa en förståelse för hur man kan arbeta i utformandet av undervisning. Genom samtalsintervjuer har vi sökt svar på våra frågeställningar och sedan har vi ställt dem mot tidigare forskning. I vår analys har vi kategoriserat resultatet utifrån teman som vi funnit i den teoretiska genomgången och respondenternas svar. I analysen har vi sedan teoretiserat resultatet utifrån Vygotskijs teorier kring den närmaste utvecklingszonen, Piagets teorier kring aktiva arbetssätt och intuitiva metoder, Runessons praktiska teori, Claessons översikt på teorins plats i praktiken, Mossberg-Schullerqvist och Olin-Schellers systematiska koppling mellan teori och praktik, Säljös teorier kring betydelsen av att ha föreställningar om lärande, Jank och Meyers teorier kring handlingskompetens och Lindström och Pennlerts teorier kring att lärare behöver vetenskaplig kunskap för att kunna omsätta teorier i praktiken.

Background: Corporations are established and organized in order to create economic values for their owners and the main aim of every business enterprise is to be profitable and satisfy the financial expectations of their shareholders. However, corporate social responsibility focuses on the ethical aspects of corporate business in order to achieve the balance between the profitability and social responsibility. Nongovernmental organizations through their activities promote the respect for human rights and environmental care within the corporate world. Purpose and Scope: To make an in-depth study about the role of nongovernmental organizations regarding corporate social responsibility in order to increase the understanding of corporate social responsibility. Methodology: We used literature research for our thesis and we analysed the secondary data related to the corporate social responsibility.

Studien avsåg att ge en bild av hur det är för kursdeltagare i ?Suicidprevention - teori och praktik?, och deras arbetskollegor att jobba med självmordsnära patienter samt hur en utbildning i suicidprevention påverkade detta arbete. Datainsamlingen skedde genom att åtta personer, fyra som gick utbildningen ?Suicidprevention teori och praktik?, och fyra som var arbetskollegor till dessa, intervjuades två gånger. Materialet analyserades genom induktiv tematisk analys.

Inom institutionell teori står Berger & Luckmann för en inriktning som fokuserar på legitimeringoch reproduktion av institutioner. De förklarar varför i institutioner bevaras trots kritik och behåller sin ursprungliga form, inte på grund av institutionernas överlägsenhet utan på grund av försvararnas legitimering av institutionen.Denna gren av institutionell teori har över tid fått stå tillbaka för ny-institutionell teori, som fokuserar på förändring. Den klassiska institutionella teorin saknar empiriskt underlag, varför detta är en empirisk studie av institutionell teori i en svensk kontext. Ett område på vilket institutionell teori är tillämpbart är det svenska uppsägningsförfarandet.Studiens syfte är att öka förståelsen för hur legitimering av institutioner går till i praktiken. Detta uppnås genom frågan ?hur bidrar parternas argument till att institutionen reproduceras?.Frågan besvarades genom kvalitativ data, hämtad från intervjuer med representanter från de parter som debatterar LAS.Denna empiriska undersökning visar att LAS legitimeras genom att tillskrivas normativ värdighet och kognitiv giltighet, samtidigt som kritiker av LAS tillskrivs normativ ovärdighet och kognitiv ogiltighet.

The purpose of my essay is on one hand to research and evaluate the measures that one intermediate school in Sweden, uses in order to prevent bullying and stop it in the event that one pupil happens to get bullied or harassed. In other words, I would like to show how that school is capable of creating a safe environment. Qualitative research is used to obtain these findings.On the other hand, I also wish to examine what pupils at the school think about these measures and how they perceive the attitudes of the school?s teachers and management regarding the prevention of bullying. In order to acquire this information quantitative research is used.The conclusions that I draw after conducting my research are as follows:1- Regarding the ?Anti ? bullying Performance Plan?, my essay shows that school teachers and management actively work in order to maintain a safe environment and as a result bullying is successfully prevented the school.

Envirotainer builds containers that are specialized in transporting of temperaturesensitive products these containers are customized for airplanes. The containers arethen leased to other companies, most often to pharmaceutical companies.Envirotainer are based in Lagga, Knivsta. It is also here where the production of thecontainers is held. The container RAP T2 was designed in the early 80ies. The RAPT2 contains a fleet of about 1220 containers spread all over the world.

This master thesis aims to examine how public libraries in Sweden are practically and ideologically equipped to deal with e-books, outside of the dominant distributor Elib. The study also aims to find out what?s required of the book market and the public libraries to make further progress in the question of e-books. In Sweden e-books are still representing only a small amount of all the library loans and an even smaller amount of the commercial book market.The methodological and theoretical ground for the thesis is Grounded Theory, and the survey is based on interviews with publishers, librarians and distributors.The conclusions of this thesis are that the public libraries lack resources to invest in e-books, and that they also lack in knowledge about the media and its readers. It also exposes that both internal and external collaboration efforts need to be further developed.

Arbetet består av en undersökning av förskollärare examinerade 2002 och deras första tid i yrket. Fokus i undersökningen har varit på lärarnas ambitioner och på svårigheter att förverkliga dessa. Tolkningen av materialet har varit att försöka förstå relationer mellan ambitionerna och svårigheterna. Övergången från lärarutbildningen till att arbeta i verksamheten, är den fruktsam för professionens utveckling? Det är ett fenomen jag undersökt.

Enligt vår uppfattning är diskussionen kring teori och praktik i hem- och konsumentkunskap i grundskolan ett laddat ämne, både på grund av ämnets historia och den tolkningsfrihet som finns rörande styrdokumenten.Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur lärare anser sig bruka praktik och teori som undervisningsmetoder i hem- och konsumentkunskap i grundskolan. Syftet är även att undersöka vad som styr lärares val av metod och innehåll i undervisningen.För att undersöka detta använder vi oss av en kvalitativ strategi där empirin insamlas genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Studieobjekten utgörs av sex hem- och konsumentkunskapslärare i en medelstor svensk stad.Huvudresultaten i studien visar på att praktiska och teoretiska metoder inte får lika stort utrymme i undervisningen. Vi har även funnit att det förekommer faktorer som styr lärarnas val av metod och innehåll i undervisningen och att vissa faktorer påverkar mer än andra.Slutsatser vi har kommit fram till är bland annat att det finns en mening med att använda varierade undervisningsmetoder. Att lärarnas syn på ramfaktorer i hem- och konsumentkunskapsämnet i vår studie inte skiljer sig anmärkningsvärt från vad lärare ansåg om detta i en Nationell utvärdering som gjordes för tio år sedan..

I denna kvalitativa studie undersöker vi vad som ligger till grund för elevers olovliga frånvaro på ett gymnasium i Västerås utifrån elevperspektiv. Delvis i denna studie undersöker vi sen ankomst och vad det får för konsekvenser för studiemiljön i klassrummet. I den tidigare forskningen tar vi upp de två huvudteman om olovlig frånvaro/skolk, Skolk på grund av skolans brister samt skolk på grund av kriminell livsstil. Dessutom tar vi upp de riskfaktorer som den tidigare forskningen tar upp kring elevers riskbeteenden och elevernas vanligaste förklaringar som anges som skäl till olovlig frånvaro. Den metod vi använts oss av är Grundad teori (GT) där vi valt Glasers sätt att arbeta på.

This thesis is a qualitative study in which 12 award-winning printed adverts, awarded with either a Swedish ?Guldägg? or an international Clio Award, have been analyzed from a rhetorical perspective. Visual rhetorics were used to analyze the adverts in order to expose the rhetorical concepts and to find out whether the rhetorical concepts represented in the Swedish adverts are the same concepts represented in the international adverts. One of the conclusions drawn is that pathos-arguments, a rhetorical concept where the senders allude to the emotions of the receivers, are the most prominent in both Swedish and international adverts, but are used in different ways. Another conclusion drawn is that the adverts are overall characterized by their messages not being explicit.

Nordmaling is a small muncipality that has gotten a lot of critic in media over the last two years. In order to regain a good reputation and to communicate a strong message towards external groups, Nordmaling have decided to develop a branding platform that can represent the organization in both external and internal communications. In order to develop a brand the organization must understand its identity.The purpose of the study was to examine the employees? thoughts of their organization in order to be able to define the organizational identity and give recommendations of core values that the organization can apply to their brand. To understand how the employees perceive their organization and what they think the organization stands for, the main focus was to study their view on values, standards, goals and vision of the organization through focus interviews and a survey.

This essay discusses my proposed collection of short stories. The aim has been to examine the texts in terms of form and thematics, and position of the texts in a social context. First I present the collection, and then look at the texts from stylistic angle. I have chosen to use the concept of descriptive style. I have picked out certain parts of my texts in order to see which effect they have on the reader (in this case I).

Background:Malnutrition is a nursing issue that causes both physical and psychological suffering of those who are affected. In order to achieve care that is safe and has a good quality, it must be based on the assessment and actions of the state. District nurses play a central role in this work. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the district nurses' work with identifying and addressing malnutrition in older people in nursing Home Care of the Community. Method: Six interviews with district nurses were conducted.
