Kombinerat bostadshus, kontor samt kommersiella lokaler längs Hornsbruksgatan, Södermalm. Den bärande, stadstypologiska idén är att möta respektive typologier från Hornsbruksgatan och Högalidsparken. På så vis bildas ett gång-/butiksstråk på södra sidan av byggnaden samt ett parkstråk mot norr. Arkitektoniskt vill byggnaden lyfta fram en ärlig och massiv materialitet, samt en rumslig rörelse som kretsar kring denna. Sturkturellt är bjälklagen förskjutna ett halvplan mellan de bärande väggarna, så att denna rumsliga rörelse även sker vertikalt inom lägenheterna..

Two elementary schools are now being built in Gråbo (in the municipality of Lerum),Röselidsskolan and Ljungviksskolan, which are both designed with solar thermalcollectors for the schools domestic water heating. During the summer while thelargest amount of solar heat can be generated, the activity hence the domestic wateruse in the schools are heavily reduced. Both schools are connected to the local districtheating system which makes it possible to use the solar collectors to deliver heat tothe district heating.The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the two systems mentioned above and todetermine which system is more suitable to apply on a school. The building whichconditions were used for this evaluation is Röselidsskolan.A solar heating plant of each system type was dimensioned from the expected andknown conditions of the building. The purpose with the dimensioning was to makethe solar plants replace the ordinary energy source as much as possible.

Traditional retouching, where you make the body of a female model in a magazine thinner, has been common for a long time and is well known. Several studies indicates that showing ultra-thin images of female bodies in media can lower the body satisfaction of ?ordinary? women which in some cases can lead to dangerous eating disorders. But in 2010 Swedish female magazine VeckoRevyn introduced a new type of retouching: Making some catwalk models bodies bigger instead, which we decided to call opposite retouching. This kind of retouching is aiming to widen the ideal picture that is sent out of how the female body should look like, and therefore having the readers reach a higher body satisfaction and becoming more at peace with the own body.

The title of the final thesis is Filmic landscapes ? film as representation, tool and practice in landscape architecture. The aim of the final thesis is to investigate how film as a medium can be used to describe, interpret and manipulate the understanding of a place and its design. What kind of aspects of landscape architecture can film as a medium in a design-process emphasize or create? How can filming, as a self-standing act, contribute to the understanding of the landscape and a landscape-related design-process? The thesis is divided into two parts, one theoretical part that consists of an essay, and one practical part that consists of a 11minute long filmic reflection of the ?Glass-houses?in Kosta, Sweden, created by the Swedish designer and architect Bruno Mathsson.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att ta reda på statusen av elevernas självförtroende under idrottslektionen I skolan samt om självförtroendet kan förbättras via olika övningar. Detta gjordes genom en enkätundersökning med elever i åldrarna 16-19 under lektioner i Idrott & Hälsa. Efter detta genomfördes olika övningar med eleverna och några veckor senare genomfördes samma enkätundersökning för att se om det fanns några skillnader eller inte. Resultaten av undersökningen blev överlag svårtolkade, men det fanns några intressanta och överraskande resultat också, som det faktum att pojkarna var mer oroade över sitt utseende än flickorna..

In July 2011 the journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson are arrested in Ethiopia when on a mission to report the activities of the oil exploration company Lundin Petroleum. Following a trial, closely observed by media, the two journalists are convicted to a prison sentence of eleven years. The Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Carl Bildt, is now to act on their behalf to preserve their rights as Swedish citizens. However, doubts are raised as to whether Bildt has a conflict of interest because of his former engagements as a board member in Lundin Petroleum.

Destilleri, saluhall och destilleri.Arkitketurskolans verksamhet ska flytta och uppgiften var att rita om nuvarande arkitekturskolan till Kontor, bostäder och offentliga/kommersiella verksamheter i gatauplan. Målet med projektet har varit att öppna upp den befintliga bygganden och få in en mer offentlig, öppen verksamhet i gatuplan. Byggnaden rymmer efter ombyggnad en saluhall som tar upp största delen av gatuplanet. Gatuplanets utfackningsväggar byts ut mot glaspartier som öppnar upp fasaden runt om hela kvarteret. Saluhallen verkar tillsammans med ett eget destilleri för brännvinstillverkning och ett bageri för knäckebrödstillverkning. På kvarterets innergård och tak finns åkermark där det odlas råg som förädlas på plats till brännvin och knäckebröd..

Det här är ett projekt som undersöker ett nytt sätt för bostäder att utformas. Hyresägenheter med fler rum, där kontraktet kan delas upp mellan de boende. Samtidigt värnas arkitektoniska kvalitéer, som burspråk i varje rum. För att minimera de uppvärmda allmänna ytorna i byggnaden går trapphuset och hissen utomhus, och binder samman lägenheterna med en slags loftbalkong. Varje våningsplan får sålunda en mötesplats där grannar kan socialisera.

Immersion is a construct that measures how deeply engrossed a user is with any mediated situation. In the field of game design, immersion is a significant aspect of what makes a game enticing, and as such it is of pivotal importance to create and maintain it to keep the player's mind off the real world while inside the confines of a game framework. According to the GameFlow theory, it is one of seven key tenets of evaluating and implementing a successful game design. Yet, certain multiplayer online games are designed in a fashion that in some cases seem to break immersion, where the player is frequently put out of action, sometimes for minutes on end. In this study, using online questionnaires, we discover that players, despite claims otherwise, seem to be in several ways affected negatively by this breaking of immersion.

A few studies have been carried out and the result of these is referred to in this report.By means of measurements and approximations the use of electricity for various appliances became known.

I denna uppsats undersöks det potentiella sambandet mellan minskade försvarsutgifter och ett ökat försvarsmaterielsamarbete i Europa och Norden. Perioden som studeras är åren 1991-2012. Variablerna konstrueras från data hämtade från SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) och utgörs av (i) genomsnittliga försvarsutgifter som andel av BNP, samt (ii) andelen försvarsmaterielaffärer som inkluderar samarbete vid produktion för de två grupperna av länder. I ett första steg görs en statistisk analys vars resultat visar på ett statistiskt signifikant samband mellan variablerna när det gäller de europeiska länderna, samt ett statistiskt insignifikant samband mellan variablerna för de nordiska länderna. I ett andra steg genomförs kvalitativa intervjuer i syfte att undersöka orsakerna till denna skillnad mellan de två samarbetena.

Uppsatsen behandlar Afrikanska Unionen (AU) och dess arbete för bevarandet av mänskliga rättigheter i konflikter, ett arbete som AU till största del misslyckats med. Darfur i Sudan är det konfliktområde som huvudsakligen tas upp. År 2002 övergick Organization of African Unity (OAU) till AU och därmed blev fokuseringen på mänskliga rättigheter större. I sitt arbete med mänskliga rättigheter utgår AU från African Charter on Human and Peoples? Rights (ACHPR) och Kommissionen (African Commission on Human and Peoples? Rights) är den institution som enligt ACHPR har till uppdrag att verka för de mänskliga rättigheterna.
