Effektivitetsparadoxen - En eventstudie av handelsstopp på Stockholmsbörsen mellan 2003 och 2008

A trading halt is a measure conducted by a securities exchange in order to reduce information imbalances between market participants, thus enabling a higher level of market efficiency. A market is said to be efficient when new information concerning a company is instantly reflected in its stock price, implying that abnormal stock returns cannot be systematically achieved in an efficient market. The purpose of this study is to examine the occurrence of abnormal stock returns following trading halts on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The study is based on a sample of 64 trading halts executed between January 2003 and February 2008. Historical daily prices for stocks subject to trading halts during the period have been gathered from the Datastream Advance database, while information on date and time of trading halts have been collected from the Stockholm Stock Exchange website.

Från ingenmansland till innerstad - omvandling av Norra stationsområdet i Stockholm

Examensarbetet är ett planeringsprojekt i direkt anslutning till Stockholms innerstad. Planområdet är ett avvecklat stations och spårområde, där framför allt gods har hanterats under det senaste seklet. Den ursprungliga användningen av området har successivt avvecklats, och ersatts av andra verksamheter i de gamla magasinsbyggnaderna i området. Spårområdena har omvandlats till parkerings- och uppställningsplatser. Sedan SJ lämnade området har planer tagits fram för en förnyelse av området.

This essay is an enquiry about how companies as participated in a Lean pro¬duction education use this education. The essay describes also how one works with the implementation of Lean production and how they believe that they will work. Avgiftens kapitalisering i slutpriset för bostadsrätter - En studie om hur avgiftens kapitaliseringsgrad över slutpriset på bostadsrätter i Vasastan/Norrmalm förändrats mellan 2006-2014

Prior studies have shown the relationship between capitalised monthly fees and sales price for tenant-owned apartments in Stockholm. However, few studies have been conducted explaining the effects of capitalised monthly fees over time and how it has changed with, for in-stance, increasing sales prices and fluctuating interest rates. The aim of this study is to deter-mine if the effect of capitalised monthly fees on sales prices of tenant-owned apartments has changed between 2006 and 2014, in Vasastan/Norrmalm in Stockholm. The study shows that there are statistically significant results indicating that capitalised effect of monthly fees on sales prices has in fact changed over the studied time period. The results differ with apartment size (number of rooms) and the conclusion is that there is an effect of time on one, two and three bedroom apartments but not for apartments with four bedrooms or more..

If a company is in a need of capital to make major investments and isn?t able to prioritize internal funding, the priority will be external financing with safe securities; loans. How companies should prioritize the allocation between equity and debt, which together form value, leads us to the subject of capital structure.

Har man som förstagångsköpare råd med en bostadsrätt i centrala Stockholm och hur räntekänslig är man?

Detta examensarbete har utförts på institutionen för Infrastruktur, avdelningen för Bygg- och fastighetsekonomi vid Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan i Stockholm. Vi har undersökt hur räntekänslig en förstagångsköpare av en bostadsrätt i centrala Stockholm är, givet ett antal kriterier. Vi är själva studenter som efter examen är potentiella köpare av en bostadsrättslägenhet och därför är detta ämne av stort intresse för oss. Vi har tagit reda på ungefär vilken inkomst man kan tänkas ha som nyutexaminerad teknolog och sedan redogöra för vad som händer när man tar ett lån vid ett bostadsrättsköp samt om räntesituationen förändras. Vi vill också redogöra för de rutiner och regler som bankerna har när det gäller bolån i dagsläget.

The purpose of this essay was to find out if it is possible to:? Detect different groups of gender among children in grave materiel and church art and if that was the case, in what way?? What different groups of children can be seen in these two categories?? What does the material say about children's position in society? The time span is from early Christian time to 17-th century and the geographical region is Sweden and Denmark. I got my information from published literature and different pages on the Internet. The conclusions were that gender among children can be detected in both types of material but different groups were not ?visible? to the same degree.

Detta examensarbete är utfört på Stockholm Vatten som producerar och levererar dricksvatten till drygt 1 miljon personer i Stockholm med omnejd. I likhet med andra bolag inom vattenbranschen har Stockholm Vatten stora energikostnader vid distributionen av rent vatten samt vid omhändertagandet av avloppsvatten. År 2003 var denna kostnad ca 55 miljoner kronor och därmed en betydande del av bolagets totala utgifter. Större delen av energiförbrukningen uppstår vid vatten- och avloppsverken då vattnet ska tryckas ut i nätet men stora mängder energi förbrukas även i själva ledningsnätet. Syftet med detta arbete har därför varit att undersöka hur och varför energianvändningen ser ut som den gör i en zon i södra delen av Stockholm.

Cross-Border Listings and Price Discovery: Evidence from UK- and US-listed Swedish Stocks

Objective: The objective of this study is to examine the extent to which the London stock exchange and the US stock exchange Nasdaq respectively contributes to the price discovery of Swedish stocks listed on the Stockholm stock exchange, the London stock exchange and the US stock exchange Nasdaq.Method: The study is a replicate study of the studies by Grammig, Melvin and Schlag (2000) and Eun and Sabherwal (2003). The methodology is based on the methodology of the latter study. The data material consisting of quoted stock prices for three Swedish stocks on the three stock exchanges at five-minute intervals during a 49-day-period in 2003 has been run through different statistical tests in a five-step process.Conclusion: The evidence of this study shows that prices on SSE, LSE and NASD are cointegrated and mutually adjusting. The evidence suggests that in all three cases, price discovery takes place on the home stock exchange SSE. Moreover, LSE contributes more to price discovery than Nasdaq.

Nedskrivningsprövning av goodwill : En studie av diskonteringsräntor på Nasdaq OMX Stockholm

Goodwill accounting has for a long time been, and with the implementation of IFRS in 2005, has become an even bigger issue. Critics mean that reporting of goodwill impairments is subject to discretion that can be used by the managers. We have applied a study made by Carlin and Finch (2009) on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm during 2006-2012. Our study contains 50 of the 255 public companies at 2012-12-31. The purpose of the study is to investigate if companies use an opportunistic discount rate when testing for impairment in goodwill and if the relation between goodwill and net profit before taxes, goodwill intensity, is an incentive for opportunism.

The Swedish food retail market : An econometric analysis of the competition on local food retail markets

The Swedish food retail market contains of three major actors, ICA, KF and Axfood, all in all dominating 75 percent of the total market shares. The scant number of retailing actors indicates that the Swedish food retail market is a highly concentrated oligopoly, which as a fact has given rise to definite discussions and argumentations concerning the market situation. But is the food retail market imperfect and how do we reach a workable competition? Economic theory does not provide any clear answer on these questions, but is rather divided into two fundamentally different approaches to define competition: the static and the dynamic perspective on competition. In an attempt to examine the competition on local Swedish retail markets, the purpose of this study is to carry out an econometric model estimating the situation.

Beräkning av intäkter för elproduktion i solceller på Kungliga Tennishallen

I  en värld  med ökande energibehov och stora miljö på frestningarär  förnybar energi en lösning som skulle kunna tillgodose  alla behov.  En sorts  förnybar energi är  solcellsenergi,   men solcellsanläggningar kan  vara  svåra  att  få ekonomiskt  lönsamma  i  Sverige.  Detta del projekt är  en del i  ett större  projekt vars gemensamma  mål är  att utföra  en lönsamhetsalanys  på en tänkt solcellsanläggning  i Stockholm.  Må let med detta delprojekt är  att undersöka hur mycket elsom en solcellsan läggning pa? Kungliga Tennishallen i Stockholm kan producera då anläggningen antas vara 100% tillförlitlig. I delprojektet  undersöks även värdet av elproduktionen om den säljs på Nord Pool Spot eller den summa som sparas genom att förbruka elen. I den ekonomiska analysen studeras möjligheter för  prissäkring, osäkerheter i den framtida elmarknaden  och olika bidrag. För  att uppskatta  produktion  och vinst har en litteraturstudie utförts, och gemensamt  med övriga delprojekthar  en övergripande  lönsamhetsanalys  utförts.
