Perioperativ omvårdnad är de vårdhandlingar och vårdaktiviteter som utförs av en anestesi- och operationssjuksköterska under de pre-, intra- och postoperativa fa-serna i samband med en patients operation. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa patienters upplevelser av perioperativ omvårdnad med inriktning mot peri-operativ dialogmodell. Forskningsprocessen inspirerades av Goodmans sju steg och metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie som grundade sig på tio veten-skapliga artiklar. Som teoretisk referensram har Orlandos omvårdnadsteori an-vänts. Resultatet visade att när den perioperativa omvårdnaden var organiserad enligt perioperativ dialogmodell upplevde patienterna bland annat att sjuksköters-kan hade tid för dem, operationen var något de skulle genomföra tillsammans och sjuksköterskan upplevdes se patienten som en resurs.

Creating a database to manage medical data is not the easiest. We create a database to be used for a presentation tool that presents medical data about patients that is stored in the database. We examine which of the three databases, MySQL with relational design, MySQL with EAV design and MongoDB that are best suited for storing medical data. The analysis i performed in two steps. The first step handles the database that is most effective to retriev data. The second step examines how easy it is to change the structure of the various databases. The results show that depending on whether efficiency or maintenance is most important, different databases are the best choise. Hemoplus® (Sarstedt, Nümbrecht, Tyskland) is a guaiac-based fecal occult blood test developed for human medicine. Guaiac-based tests make use of the pseudoperoxidase activity of hemoglobin so the test is not specific for human hemoglobin and can therefore be used in veterinary medicine. Peroxidase-containing foods such as meat (hemoglobin and myoglobin) can cause false-positive results of the test. To ensure that a positive result is not caused by diet, it has been suggested that canine patients should be fed a meatless diet for a few days prior to fecal occult blood testing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of commercial dog food on guaiac-based tests. In this study fecal samples from healthy dogs were analyzed with Hemoplus®.

The purpose of this literature review was to find common factors for the persons who predispose to eating disorders. These factors shall help the nurse to recognise early signs of eating disorder behaviors. The literature review is directed to the nurse and will answer the issue: Which groups in the community run the risk of developing eating disorders? Furthermore, this knowledge shall lead to a better understanding of persons having eating disorders and be used as an aid in his/her encounter with these patients. The method was a literature review based on eight scientific articles, which were interpreted on the basis of the competence of the nurse.

A pilot study conducted on four patients, which we received from the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, who were all potential candidates for a cochlear implant. We fitted our test subjects with a pair of frequency compressing hearing aids called Phonak Naida V SP during the study and let them evaluate them for about seven weeks. Measurements made with monosyllabic words throughout the study showed significant differences in speech perception (p?0.05) compared to their regular hearing aids in 3 out of 4 cases. De-activation of the frequency transposed function showed significant decreases in 3 out of 4 cases compared to when it was activated.All test subjects were satisfied with the new hearing aids and chose to keep using them at the end of the study..

The purpose of this study was to compare the body posture among a group of women who recently have given birth (subjects) and a group of women who never have been pregnant (controls). The comparison was done between the two groups using the Comprehensive Body Examination (CBE) according to Bunkan. In the study participated 24 women, 12 who recently have given birth and 12 who never have been pregnant. The results showed that the body posture differed between the two groups. The subjects differed more from satisfactory jointpositions than the controls.

This study is an attempt to examine a hospital library's difficulties in reaching customers with consumer health information. The method was a case study of the consumer health service in the hospital library in Västerås, a town in Sweden. Qualitative interviews, observations and written material were used. The approach was from the actor's point of view with the intention to look upon the problem with the eyes of those who work at the hospital with information to patients, that is librarians and medical staff. The dog has often served as a model animal for humans in scientific studies. This is due to the fact that dogs are susceptible to a wide range of diseases which also affect humans. One example is cancer, a condition that affects dogs as well as owners. Neoplastic diseases account for 18-23 % of all deaths in dogs (Bonnet et al., 2005 and Jagielski et al., 2002). Mammary tumor, or tumor of the breast, is the most common tumor form in intact dogs and women (Im et al., 2013). Mammary tumors originate in the udder, and are classified according to their histological characteristics.

Patienter med risk för malnutrition är vanligt förekommande på svenska sjukhus och vårdboende. Trots detta saknas det nationella riktlinjer för hur man ska bedöma och åtgärda malnutrition. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka hur nutritionsstatus kan bedömas hos äldre multisjuka patienter på sjukhus och vårdboende samt i vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder sjuksköterskor kan vidtaga vid malnutrition. Litteraturstudien bygger på tolv vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visar att det krävs en kombination av antropometiska mått, biokemiska analyser samt någon form av bedömningsinstrument för att korrekt kunna bedöma en patients nutritionsstatus. Omvårdnadsåtgärder som sjuksköterskan kan vidta är individuellt anpassat måltidsstöd, mellanmål, tillförsel av extra näringstillskott och dryck- och kostregistrering.
