SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund: Enligt hälso- och sjukvårdslagen ska vården tillgodose patientens behov av trygghet, bygga på respekt för patienten, främja goda kontakter mellan patient och personal och tillgodose kontinuitet och säkerhet i vården. Forskning inom psykiatrisk vård har undersökt hur patienter uppfattar dessa områden. Denna forskning har resulterat i att Sverige har infört en nationell satsning för att mäta patienternas uppfattning om den vård de har fått. Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka patienters uppfattning om vården på en allmänpsykiatrisk heldygnsavdelning. Metod: En enkät bestående av frågor med skattningsskala eller fasta svarsalternativ gavs till 25 inneliggande patienter på en svensk heldygnsvårdsavdelning. Enkäten besvarades av 14 patienter vilket gav en svarsfrekvens på 56 %. Svaren har förts in i programvaran Exel och analyserats med utgångspunkt från kategorierna bemötande, information, personcentrerad vård, planering av vården, närstående och vårdmiljö. Resultat: Resultatet visar på att uppfattningen om hur man upplever vården på avdelningen varierar kraftigt.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the extent of the civil rights political participation on a municipality level. The starting-point is the participatory democratic theory. I have chosen to make a case study of the extent of participation among KPR ? the board of the pensioners in the municipality of Skara. KPR is represented by fourteen members from the seven existing associations for pensioners.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the places importance for young people with disabilities. The study?s central questions are what type of places they visit and what characterizes them. It is also about answering the questions why the places are visited and what meaning this has for participation and identity. The study´s central concept is room/place, participation and identity.

Bakgrund: Det är viktigt att det finns kunskap om palliativ vård inom alla verksamheter då patienter i palliativ vård finns överallt inom vården. Finns inte kunskapen kan patientens behov lätt missas. Författarna till den här studien ville få en förståelse för vilka omvårdnadsbehov sjuksköterskor upplever att patienten har i det palliativa skedet.Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka vilka omvårdnadsbehov sjuksköterskor upplever att patienten har i det palliativa skedet och hur dessa behov kan tillgodoses.Metod: En kvalitativ intervjustudie genomfördes på ett sjukhus. Sju sjuksköterskor intervjuades och intervjumaterialet analyserades med manifest innehållsanalys.Resultat: Resultatet visade att sjuksköterskorna upplevde att patienten i palliativ vård har två övergripande omvårdnadsbehov. Dessa är psykosociala behov och omvårdnadsbehov.

The aim of this study was to provide an understanding of the situation of an often forgotten group in foster care, the carers? own children. Our main focus was to explore this group?s experience of foster care, their experience of participating in caring for the foster children and their possible need of support and help. Our chosen method was qualitative interviews with six adult children of foster carers, two men and four women.

Alla människor kan drabbas av en akut sjukdom eller skada. Hur de drabbade hanterar händelsen är mycket varierande. Känslor som rädsla, oro och smärta kan öka risken för mer eller mindre långdragna psykiska reaktioner. Om det akuta vårdteamet har kunskap om den intima kopplingen mellan människans kropp och psyke kan de ge ett korrekt stöd och bemötande redan i ett tidigt skede och därmed kanske minska patientens psykiska lidande. Trots att traumavården gör stora tekniska framsteg finns endast liten kunskap om hur det är att vara traumapatient.

Amyotrofisk lateralskleros, ALS, är en obotlig sjukdom som klassas som en neurologisk sjukdom där de motoriska nervcellerna i hjärnan, hjärnstammen och ryggmärgen förtvinar. Sjukdomen kan ha ett hastigt förlopp vilket gör att patienterna är i behov av många hjälpinsatser. Syftet med studien är att öka kunskapen hos sjuksköterskor genom att belysa patienters upplevelser av att leva med ALS. För att beskriva dessa har en kvalitativ innehållsanalys använts. Med hjälp av denna modell fördjupas förståelsen av patienternas upplevelser, erfarenheter och förväntningar av sjukdomen.

The purpose of the study is that based on focus groups with personal assistants understand how self-determination and participation, expresses itself in work with the users. The study has a focus on the concepts of power and help and social citizenship in the context of self-determination and participation. We are interested to explore how personal assistants reason and argue about different design cases and situations related to self-determination and participation in the relationship with the users. For this study we have used a qualitative method and to collect our data we have used focus groups and different design cases (vignettes). To analyze our data we used the theory about power and help and the theory about social citizenship.

The overall aim with this study was to explore the understanding of how nursing staff - at a service flat in the county of Gävleborg, is related to the residents with intellectual disabilities, with regard to the residents' health. Five personal research interviews were conducted with nursing staff in a sheltered housing. The survey was based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. Five nursing staff aged 27-57 were participated in this investigation. The analysis was conducted, by using a thematic approach.My overall findings show that Nursing staff have different roles to play depending on the situation in their relationship with the residents.

The health care system in most western countries is undergoing rapid changes with an increasing amount of people living with chronic cancer. These people have to deal with their disease in every day life together with working and family life. The relationship between health services and every day life has changed and raises new requirements. Earlier research has shown that maintaining every day life is important for cancer patients and their families. This study comprised patients with lymphoma receiving their diagnosis during 2003 ? 2005.

Background: When someone suffers a spinal cord injury, the nerve impulses between the brain, the muscles and the skin are intercepted, thereby resulting in motion and sensory loss.  During the recovery process, healthcare professionals play a vital role in ensuring that the patients have a positive experience of care, recovery and rehabilitation.Aim: The aim of this study is to determine how patients at a rehabilitation clinic in Sweden experienced the following: The patient?s experience of how well they were received by staff, the staff?s ability to explain and inform the patient of important details concerning their care and the staff?s ability to involve the patients in their own care.Method: A qualitative interview approach was used when undertaking this study. Six patients at the rehabilitation clinic were interviewed, and the interviews were later analyzed using qualitative content analysis.Result: The collected material was divided into ten categories that were sorted into three subheadings: reception of staff, information and involvement. Reception of staff, with categories: helpfulness, commitment, consideration, professionalism and reception. Information, with categories: if the patients felt well-informed.

Aim: The aim of this paper was to investigate whether scientific evidence exists to improve, of students? perceived, insufficient infection control in isolation facilities in companion animal hospitals in Sweden. Material and methods: A question was emailed to the students in the last year of the animal nursing program at SLU in the spring 2012 to get their view of perceived insufficient infection control. A literature study was thereafter preformed using the search engine Web of Knowledge. Results: The students reported several perceived shortcomings which were divided into five categories: basal hygiene, isolation routines, cleaning and disinfection, patient flow and other. Studies supporting that the shortcomings perceived by the students also exist in human health care and to some extent in animal clinics and hospitals were found. Furthermore, scientific evidence that improved hand hygiene, glove procedures and cleaning and disinfection reduces the risk of nosocomial infections in humans was reported. Conclusion: There is not a lot of research performed in the area of infection control in animal nursing.

SAMMANFATTNING BAKGRUND Syftet med studien var att få information om anhörigas upplevelse av vården på en av fem geriatriska avdelningar i Uppsala län 2008. Studien undersökte upplevelsen av tillgäng­lighet, delaktig­het, information och bemötande. En jämförelse gjordes för att se om skill­nader fanns mel­lan den studerade avdelningen (grupp 1, n=39) och de tidigare studerade geriatriska avdelning­arna (grupp 2, n=162). METOD Studien är deskriptiv och jämförande med kvantitativ metod och analysen utfördes med deskriptiv statistik. Antal anhöriga som deltog var 39 av 50 tillfrågade (n=78 %).
