In the year of 2009 the conditions for managing primary healthcare in the region of Västra Götalandchanged. The decision was taken by the regional assembly and resulted in that the citizens since thenhave had the opportunity to choose which health care provider they preferto stay with. Along with thisdecision a new market for private health careproviders was established, which resulted inincreasedcompetition between the providers.In order to manage the competition, the health care providers arenow forced to be more efficient in their operations andalso to beeven more focused on their patients.Backa Läkarhusgruppen is an example of a private healthcare provider in the region of Västra Götaland.In the same way it is also an example of anorganizationin need of analysing their operations to seehowit can be further optimized to meet patient needs and expectations.The aim of this study is to analyse Backa Läkarhusgruppen?s organization and its operationsin the hopeoffinding suggestions whichwill improve the patient flow.To allocate and solve the problems thatBacka Läkarhus suffer from,an approach inspired by Lean Healthcare is used throughout the report.Some of themost significant problems that were identified within the organization are:?The synchronization of demand and capacity is inadequate.?Absence of standardized routines.?Absence of present leadership.To be able to improve the patient flow Backa Läkarhus needs to handle these identified problem areas.By synchronizing the staffing level in relation to the trends in demand a reduction in the patient?swaiting times and throughput time will be possible. Creating clear responsibilities and routines for thestaff will contribute to a higher degree of patient focus and thus lead to a more efficient patient flow.

Risken att drabbas av sjukdom och bli beroende av vård är stor, och att vara utbildad sjuksköterska och bli beroende av vård kan skapa svåra situationer. För att belysa detta komplexa och relativt orörda område valdes syftet att undersöka sjuksköterskans upplevelse av att vara patient. Analysen genomfördes med en kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys av en biografi och en autobiografi, vilket resulterade i fem kategorier som låg till grund för resultatet. Resultatet i studien visar på värdet av att behandla alla patienter som unika individer oavsett vilken kunskap eller erfarenhet de kan tänkas ha. Att alla patienter, även patienter med sjuksköterskeutbildning, har behov av enkel och tydlig information, bekräftelse och stöd.

Bakgrund: Tidigare var det förbjudet i Sverige att utföra homosexuella handlingar. Homosexualiteten är nu mer synlig och accepterad i samhället på grund av lagar och författningar. Inom Hälso- och sjukvården har alla rätt till likvärdig vård, oavsett sexuell identitet. Trots detta har en del vårdpersonal fortfarande en negativ syn på patienter utanför heteronormen. Därför är det av vikt att sjuksköterskan får en ökad medvetenhet om patienternas upplevelser.

Bakgrund: Islam är den näst största religionen i världen och människor rör på sig mer än någonsin över landsgränser vilket ställer krav på sjuksköterskans kulturkompetens i omvårdnadsarbetet. Diabetes är en folksjukdom som har ökat globalt sett de senaste åren och därför finns det i dagens mångkulturella samhälle ett behov av att undersöka hur olika grupper upplever att det är att leva med diabetes och vilka krav detta ställer på sjuksköterskan i dennes yrkesutövning och i utvecklandet av den kulturella kompetensen. Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka muslimska personers upplevelser av att leva med diabetes. Metod: Litteraturstudien bygger på åtta vetenskapligt granskade artiklar, sex kvalitativa och två kvantitativa. Artiklarna har granskats och analyserats och lett fram till ett resultat presenterat i tre kategorier.

Bakgrund: I Sverige har akutmottagningar i landet ungefär 2,5 miljoner patientbesök per/år. Akutmottagningar brukar vara stressfyllda miljöer med hög patientomsättning, möten är rutinmässiga och utrymmet för individuellt anpassad vård är begränsat. Patienterna blir vid ankomst bedömda och prioriterade utifrån triage, för att försäkra att patienten med de mest brådskande behoven blir omhändertagen först. Efter triagen får de flesta patienterna vänta, ibland i flera timmar.Syfte: Att belysa patientperspektivet av att vara patient på akutmottagningar inom den svenska hälso- och sjukvården.Metod: Litteraturstudie, sökningar av artiklar genomfördes i databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed, vilket resulterande i 9 kvalitativa och 2 kvantitativa artiklar. Analysen inspirerades av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: 5 teman identifierades: Att vara patient under triagen, att vara patient under väntetider.

Studiens syfte: Har varit att beskriva upplevelser av möten med vårdpersonal hos patienter med anorexia. Studien är en litteraturstudie som är baserad på tre självbiografiska böcker. Bakgrund: Anorexia är en vanlig förekommande sjukdom där flickor drabbas oftare än pojkar. Lidande och välbefinnande är två vanliga inslag i sjukdomen. Mötet och bemötandet mellan vårdpersonal och patient är viktigt då ett misstag från personalen kan leda till stor skada.
