It has become more important for companies to communicate in order to gain competitive advantage. Gothenburg Culturefestival has a large number of visitors and since last year they have noticed that there are not as many visitors from some multicultual areas in Gothenburg. This makes it interesting to see what kind of problems that exists in the current communication. Problem statement: What noise is there in communicating to a multicultural target group and how does they affect the goals and the result with the communication?Purpose: The purpose of this paper is based on the communicationmodel and from there describe the communication between companies and multicultural areas, and from this identify problems with such communication.Method: 118 respondents were selected through a convenience sample and then  asked questions through structured interviews based on a questionnaire.

Risken att drabbas av sjukdom och bli beroende av vård är stor, och att vara utbildad sjuksköterska och bli beroende av vård kan skapa svåra situationer. För att belysa detta komplexa och relativt orörda område valdes syftet att undersöka sjuksköterskans upplevelse av att vara patient. Analysen genomfördes med en kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys av en biografi och en autobiografi, vilket resulterade i fem kategorier som låg till grund för resultatet. Resultatet i studien visar på värdet av att behandla alla patienter som unika individer oavsett vilken kunskap eller erfarenhet de kan tänkas ha. Att alla patienter, även patienter med sjuksköterskeutbildning, har behov av enkel och tydlig information, bekräftelse och stöd.

Purpose: To assess awareness and attitudes regarding HPV, HPV-vaccines, use of condom and participation in pap-smear screening among high-school students in Uppsala County. The intention was also to investigate if there were any differences between students at theoretical programmes and vocational programmes.Methods: 608 students from seven high-schools in Uppsala County answered a questionnaire covering demographics, awareness and attitudes regarding HPV, HPV-vaccine, use of condoms and pap-smear tests.Results: A majority of the students had never heard of HPV (86 %, n=521), HPV-vaccine (94 %, n=537) or the link between HPV and cervical cancer (88 %, n=563). Most respondents had a positive attitude towards HPV-vaccine (84 %, n=508), but the biggest obstacle was the high cost (37 %, n=227). The students believed that it was less likely that they would use a condom with a new partner if vaccinated (mean=78, SD=26, p<0.001), or if they or their partner used contraceptive pills (mean=62, SD=32, p<0.001) compared to how likely it was that they would use a condom in general with a new partner. The girls rated the probability that they would participate in a pap-smear screening as relatively low if vaccinated (mean=59 SD=27).

Within the interconnected global markets of today; people, products, and information travel at a pace never met before. In light of the global retail markets recent integration, consumers are opened up to new products and are beginning to develop a vetted interest in the heritage of those products. Within literature this process has been coined "Country of Origin" COO, and its impacts on consumer attitudes, product value- assessment, and overall behaviors has been one of the most emphasized areas of "international business" studies, during the last three decades. Numerous studies have shown a correlation between positive or advantageous associations to a country of origin, and the actual products representing and coming out of that country. It is by this synergetic process that so-called positive COO-effects are brought forth.The goal of this thesis stems directly from the still unexplored potential for Swedish firms to differentiate their products and brands on new international markets, through a strategic and coherent communication of relevant Swedish COO-effects.

This thesis emanates from the understanding that it is of importance that transgender-themed literature is indexed in accordance with how people who identify as trans name themselves and interpret the concept of trans. Based on interviews with representatives from controlled vocabularies and LibraryThing users who tag transgender-themed material, existing attitudes towards user influence in controlled vocabularies are described and the significance of tagging for transgender-themed material is looked into. With queer theory and postcolonial theory as its main framework the analysis looks at what possibilities there are for users to influence controlled vocabularies and explores possible strategies for a future library catalog that includes the voice of the Other. The study lands in the understanding that many of the resisting attitudes towards user influence within the systems for subject headings in fact lie in the systems? limitations.

Background Adolescents and adults suffering from needle phobia have an unreasonable fear of needles that leads to negative experiences if they do not get the support they need. Negative experiences lead to patients avoiding health care, or these experiences affect important aspects of life. The suffering that a patient experiences may be obvious to some, but others hide it, and then it will be more difficult to detect. The nurse's role is to recognize the suffering and its different reactions in order to alleviate and prevent unnecessary suffering of the patient. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur bemötandet och tillgängligheten i den fysiska miljön på caféer upplevs av rullstolsburna cafébesökare och caféägare i Örebro 2006, samt undersöka vad respektive grupp vet om handlingsplanen "från patient till medborgare".Datainsamlingen gjordes genom intervjuer med tre rullstolsburna cafébesökare samt sex caféägare som delades upp i två grupper, grupp 1 med fysiska hinder vid entrén och grupp 2 utan hinder vid entrén.Resultatet av studien visade att de rullstolsburna cafébesökarna tyckte oftast att cafémiljön ger ett gott bemötande men att utbudet av fysiskt tillgängliga caféer var dåligt. Samtliga caféägare upplevde att de gav ett gott bemötande men upplevelsen av den fysiska tillgängligheten varierade. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva patientens upplevelse av besöket på akutmottagningen samt vilka faktorer som påverkade upplevelsen. Syftet var även att beskriva vilka faktorer som möjliggör och hindrar sjuksköterskan att arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv. Studien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie där 10 artiklar granskades och låg till grund för resultatet vilket visade att patientens upplevelse och faktorer som påverkade upplevelsen av besöket på akutmottagningen var sjuksköterskans omvårdnad, väntetider, akutmottagningens miljö samt vårdpersonalens information och kommunikation. För att sjuksköterskan skulle ha möjlighet att arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv krävdes vissa kunskaper hos sjuksköterskan, bland annat att ha bred kunskap inte bara i omvårdnad utan även inom medicinska sjukdomar, för att bättre förstå patientens situation. Att vara emotionellt involverad, känna ansvar, ta egna initiativ, vara öppen och lyhörd, genuint intresserad och involverad av patienten och göra det där "lilla extra" gjorde att sjuksköterskan kunde arbeta utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv.

Increasing innovation and entrepreneurship has been identified as a key target for sustained growth and welfare, both in Sweden and abroad. Therefore, many countries have recognized the need to equip students with entrepreneurship education and to integrate skills associated with entrepreneurship into the various curricula.To shed light on entrepreneurship education within business curricula, a case study focusing on the first two years of the Bachelor program at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) was conducted. The study was based on interviews with students, alumni and scholars with a background of entrepreneurship. Insights from respondents were compared with leading research on entrepreneurship education, to evaluate the program's approach.Primary findings from the qualitative analysis showed an overall lack of entrepreneurship education in the early stages of the program. Entrepreneurial "know-how" knowledge was an insufficient component of the SSE program and a barrier for why more students did not pursue a career in entrepreneurship.

Vårt sätt att kommunicera med varandra är i hög grad situationsberoende. Ett tillfälle när samtalets form kan ha stor betydelse är i kontakten mellan läkare och patient och då speciellt när läkaren behöver förmedla tråkiga nyheter till patienten. I denna studie undersöktes faktorer som påverkar hur läkaren upplever sin förmåga att genomföra samtal med ?bad news? för patienten. Nio läkare på två sjukhus i Mellansverige intervjuades.

Den ökade övervikten i samhället leder till att allt fler insjuknar i hjärtsjukdomar. Vi vill att allmänsjuksköterskor ska få ökad kunskap inom detta område, för att hjälpa patienter i ett tidigt skede till livsstilsförändringar. Har sociala förutsättningar någon inverkan på valet av kost? Resultatet visar att Medelhavsdieten har en positiv inverkan på patienter med kranskärlssjukdom och övervikt samt att sjuksköterskans omvårdnadsåtgärder spelar stor roll..

The purpose of this scientific essay is to evaluate if a continuous glucose monitoring system is something that can benefit Swedish animal health care. The study investigates if it is medically possible to use continuous glucose monitoring systems on dogs with an apparatus attached to their bodies. Furthermore, I try to establish whether this is possible in practice and how it could be done. The keywords used were diabetes mellitus, insulin, continuous glucose monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, dog, pet owner and animal nursing care. Furthermore, I wanted to find out if this system could be an alternative to currently established methods to measure the patient?s blood glucose level.

Background:Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical condition. The higher survival rate after heart attack and other heart diseases, plus aging population, has led to more CHF patients. Symptoms can have negative impact on exercise capacity, ability to perform activities of daily living and quality of life. Heart failure clinics have been established to help better quality of life. Helping to stabilize and maintain patients´ health can reduce the need of hospital admission.

The purpose of this master's degree thesis was to develop an understanding of how hospital management, in the case studied, worked to achieve changes in an organization influenced by differing professional cultures. To gain insight into the conditions that may have contributed to nurses and physicians developing appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have affected the organization's ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award 2012. A qualitative single case study was conducted at Karlskoga Hospital, with focus groups as well as individual depth interviews. The results of the case study showed the following conditions provided nurses and physicians the potential to develop appropriate attitudes and behaviours, which may have influenced the hospitals ability to achieve the Swedish Quality Award:  Responsibility and influence over the development processes.Participation in management teams and quality development groups as well as individual fields of responsibility.Training programs that have given insights and skills in quality management related to clinical practice.Nurses and physicians as key individuals gave legitimacy to development process, and served as management advisors.Collaboration between all kind of employees and responsibilities.Committed management.    .
