There is a shortage of locally produced high quality protein concentrates in Europe andSweden. Local production would decrease the dependency on imported soybean and meet thedemand for organically grown feedstuff from ecological dairy farmers. Field bean (Viciafaba), peas (Pisum sativum) and sweet lupin (Lupinus angustifolius) are good alternatives tosoybean, but contain anti-nutritional substances (ANS) that could reduce their use as proteinconcentrates in dairy cow diets. The aim of this literature study was to review which ANSfield bean, peas and sweet lupin contain and whether they affect dairy cows negatively.Trypsin inhibitors and Chymotrypsin inhibitors (TI) were present in all three crops. TI couldbecome inactivated and degraded in the rumen, but due to the high Passage speed of thedigesta, most TI left the rumen in an active state.

Under ht08 och vt09 har vi gjort ett examensarbete där vi i gruppen utvecklat ett mekaniskt styrsystem för sjukhussängar. Det nya styrsystem ska underlätta det dagliga arbetet för personalen på sjukhusen, då det idag är svårt att kontrollera sängen när man är ensam och knuffar. Men med RaaLie fastmonterad på sängen kan man utföra arbetet själv, och det är mycket lättare att ta sig runt skarpa svängar och trånga Passage..

Nowadays the majority of the thinnings made in Swedish forests are done by machines, harvesters and forwarders. The most common model in thinning with a harvester is strip-road operated thinning and stand-operated thinning with one intermediate Passage between the strip-roads. This study is a time study with some quality follow ups on a strip-road operated thinning model, a stand-operated thinning model with one intermediate Passage between the strip-roads and a stand-operated thinning model with two intermediate Passages between the strip-roads. The machines in the study were a small harvester (Forestline MPM C90) and a medium sized forwarder (Timberjack 1110). The study was made in Litsnäset outside the city of Östersund in Sweden and was made during the autumn 2007. In a lodgepole pine stand six study units (0,6 ha) were thinned with the three different models, two study units per model.

This essay deals with a cultic building which focuses on the stone feature during the Bronze Age in Sweden and Denmark. I will discuss about the meaning of the stone feature and it also deals with the surrounding next to the building in order to see a bigger perspective. It consists of five excavations which this essay is based upon. The five excavations are Sandergård in Denmark, Broby and Hågahagen in Uppland, Tofta and Koarum in Skåne..

The life cycle of the anadromous Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) can span large geographic, political, and socio-economic boundaries. Management strategies and regulations that only concentrate on small spatial scales often overlook larger basin-wide problems, especially relating to post-spawn seaward migration. In this master thesis one entire migration cycle of wild adult Atlantic salmon in the unregulated northern Swedish river Vindelälven was monitored by radio-telemetry tracking during upstream spawning migration and downstream seaward migration back to the Baltic Sea. The effect of ladder Passage variables (time to pass, total time in the ladder, Passage day over the ladder) at a fish ladder downstream in the river Umeälven, as well as fish size, were evaluated to determine if differences in upstream migration distance in the river Vindelälven could be observed. Ladder Passage variables did not affect migration distance, but size exhibited a negative relationship to migration distance.

The purpose of this investigation is to scrutinise archaeological finds in funeral contexts in the province of Gästrikland, Sweden, and categorize them into one of the three phases in the phenomenological model of ?rites de Passage?. This method has been applied by the archaeologist Tore Artelius on finds discovered at a grave field in Halland; Sannagård. Following questions are addressed: What happened to the deceased person? Where did he/she go? Which God came to meet him/her? Or did he/she perhaps stay in the grave? To answer these questionst I have used Old Norse written sources and ideas produced in the field of history of religions..

Dop, konfirmation och bröllop är några riter som kyrkan kan erbjuda och som har varierats genom årens lopp. Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom relevant litteratur beskriva dopets, konfirmationens samt bröllopets historia och seder och bruk, samt kartlägga vad invånarna i Kalix anser om rite de Passage. Metoden utgick från ett kvantitativt synsätt och till grund för undersökningen låg enkätundersökningar bland Kalixborna och urvalet bestod av 100 respondenter med bred åldersvariation 15-75 år. Resultatet visar att de flesta av både männen och kvinnorna oavsett ålder eller yrke/sysselsättning, använder kyrkan i 1:a hand för att utföra olika riter, men därutöver minskar kontakten med kyrkan. Men det finns en viss skillnad mellan könen.

The hydropower from Nissan River is of national interest and produces annually 230 GWh from the twelve power stations in the main flow. For modified waters a consideration between the power production and the biological values has to be made. This reports serves as a pre-study for Nissans Vattenråd. It tries to evaluate some of the biological values in the Nissan basin and map the power production in the area. And the size and value of lost power production from new fishways for the twelve stations in the main flow.The investment of new fishways is calculated using simplified templates with values from the business.

The study was carried out as a time study of five wood chippers placed on trucks,so?called huggbilar. They are trucks with built?in wood chipper, chip bowl and crane pulling a chip trailer. The system is used for chipping wood fuel, transporting, and delivering the chips to heating plants.

With an increasing production of biogas follows an increased amount of digestate. This could potentially be a valuable source of fertiliser with the destruction of weed seeds as a possible advantage. However, there have been some concerns regarding the product still containing viable seeds of weed. In this Bsc thesis the results of previous research on the fate of weed seeds in biogas production is summarized. It is also a comparison of research on the effect of similar processes such as silage, compost or animal Passage on seeds. The purpose of this is to evaluate risks of spreading viable seeds, potentially problematic species and perhaps to find out how to eliminate the risks. The literature review revealed that previous research mainly indicates low risks regarding many of the tested weed species, but not all studies show the same result, therefore extended research on the subject is desirable.

The main purpose of this essay is to examine, in what way the paintings by Karin Broosand Markus Åkesson are images of autentic situations and furthermore in what way themediespecific essence is performed photografically. Questions occuring: 1) How are thecreations of reality shaped in the two chosen photorealistical paintings? 2) In what waycan you distinguish the iconicity and indexicality in the paintings Den vita klänningenand The Passage? 3) How does the photografic presence occur in the paintings andfuthermore how can you distinguish the mentioned parts above according to thepaintings? The theoretical standpoint is based upon Charles Sanders Peirces ideasconcerning iconicity and indexicality. The methods used are based on thoughtspresented by Andrew Benjamin and Mieke Bal. The signs of iconicity and indexicalitycan be studied in various ways in the two paintings, depending on how abstract andobvious different parts occur in the paintings.

Fiskvägar kan anläggas i anslutning till dammar för att överkomma de hinder som dammarna utgör mot migrerande fisk. En av de mest önskvärda lösningar som finns för detta är att anlägga naturlika fiskvägar, vilka har som syfte att efterlikna ett naturligt vattendrag. Ofta har dock dessa planerats för dåligt med avseende på exempelvis lutning och placering av ingången för att de ska kunna fungera riktigt effektivt. På grund av detta finns det behov av omfattande studier av topografi och kartering av området innan en fiskväg anläggs.I det här arbetet används topografin och de geografiska förutsättningarna för att studera möjliga sträckningar på en naturlik fiskväg förbi Strömdalens kraftverk i Gävle som en del av det fiskvandringsprojekt som Länsstyrelsen Gävleborg driver. I arbetet byggs en höjdmodell upp med hjälp av data från LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) och genom topografisk mätning, där mätpunkter från Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) och Totalstation används för att korrigera LiDAR-modellen över visst område.

To investigate adoptions are part of the social worker's duties. The aim of our study was to examine some adoptive parents, to internationally adopted children, experience of adopting, the time before the adoption, the adoption process, and the time after the adoption. The study is based on qualitative interviews with seven adoptive parents. Theoretical frameworks that have been used are a phenomenological perspective, the dramaturgical perspective of Goffman and the theory of rites of Passage.The result of our study shows that the adoptive parents have tried ?everything? to be-come parents in a biological way before they came to the decision to adopt.
