The thesis deals with evaluation of tenders for communal construction procurement. Each year the public procurement equals the value of millions of Swedish kronors, of which construction projects makes up a large proportion. These projects tend to often exceed their budgets. The aim with the thesis is to investigate if there are faults in the tender evaluation process. The theoretical framework for the study partly consists of a review on how the communal evaluation work is described in law and practice.

This thesis is an evaluation of the new traffic solution at ?Skvallertorget?. The innovative theory behind it is to increase traffic-safety by introducing insecurity feelings for road-users. The conclusion of the evaluation is that the newtraffic solution is well adjusted according to guidelines for municipal traffic planning. The evaluation also illustrates the conflict between traffic planners deliberate attempt to avoid clear information and the road users wish to get it.

Background Being outdoors on a regular basis is beneficial for all individuals, people with dementia who is living in special accommodation have not always that possibility. If the person with dementia live in a stimulating environment can contribute to the person's functions are maintained. Aim To provide a basis for evaluation of a new outdoor environment at a special accommodation for people with dementia. Method of data collection in action research was done through focus group with staff on the accommodation and the participants in the project, a total of five informants. Results Informants thoughts and experiences were analyzed and divided into three main categories to describe the project - design, obstacles and goals.

In the fall of 2014 a literature review and a scientific study of the topic; "... in the extent to which companies in the industry applies the evaluation of continuous improvement? was conducted at Mälardalen University. These studies are the foundation of this thesis.A strategic improvement is often divided into smaller steps of improvements at each hierarchical level from the top down through the organization. The aim of this study is to examine how and in what way users of the public participate and affect the archival information that is to be preserved for the future through the examination of three archival projects involving public participation. The study seeks to examine if participation of the public could lead to increased democracy and diversity of information in the archives. The study will be performed through the examination of three participatory archives all tied to traditional archival institutions.The study is based on the theoretical framework of Benn and Gaus and their notions of public and private which they discuss using the key words access, agency and interest. The study also takes into consideration Laura Millar?s theories of social memory as a means for the public good.

Requirements increase in welfare activities to be run based on scientific, empirical knowledge. This applies particularly to social work. The social work is, however, poorly researched in areas such as knowledge of interventions in the content, context and effects. The aim of this essay is to explore the lived citizenship and its ideal. First, the form and expression of citizenship practice and ideal is explored through a qualitative interwiev study of ten citizens in the southern suburbs of Stockholm. The perception and expectations of the nature of citizenship, presented by the informants, is then compared to their citizen ideal, as well as to the ideal presented and promoted by the Swedish government. The point of departure is theory of democracy. The essay calls attention to an observed lack of empirical studies in the field of deliberative theory of democracy as well as studies that more broadly bring the theory down to empirical earth.

Our main focus was the crime reporters? use of the medium Flashback, and attitude towards their own use of media ethics in relation to the medium Flashback.Flashback as a medium is not obliged to any media ethics and lacks a legally accountable publisher. In the search for information about committed crimes people tends to visit Flashback for the information that the traditional media cannot offer.

When a decision is to be made on what long term strategic forest management plan to use, consideration must often be taken to multiple objectives. Such decisions are very complex and a promising approach to handle them is by Multiple Criteria Decision Analyses (MCDA). The study is based on the problem that the MCDA that have been implemented into forest management planning have only had capacity to compare and evaluate a limited number of management plans; which means that there is a risk the most suitable plan is missed. The aim with this study was to test the applicability of combining the MCDA tools: the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for including consideration to multi-objectives into strategic forest management planning. The study was based on the process of creating and selecting a management plan, using Heureka PlanWise, suitable for all the major objectives found in the forest holdings of a municipality in northern Sweden.

(CSE), som bygger på fyra personlighetsdrag: generell self-efficacy, locus of control, neurotisism och självkänsla. Studien sökte svar på vilken inverkan CSE och bassjälvkänsla har på arbetstillfredsställelse samt om dessa variabler skiljer sig åt mellan yrkesgrupper. En enkätstudie med 103 respondenter i tre olika yrkesgrupper genomfördes i två städer i mellersta Sverige.

Electronic availability of information resources has increasingly become an important part of academic libraries everyday vocation. This is a fact that puts impetus on the libraries to know more about the way in which electronic information is being dispersed and handled. This thesis aims to comparatively evaluate Uppsala university library´s own metadata system Summon with the publicly available equivalent Google scholar. The evaluation is based on Péter Jacsó´s theories on database evaluation which concretely puts focus on Summon and Google scholar via the use and application of ten different criteria. The uses of precision and relevance criteria were also implemented as additional evaluation tools.

De problem som följer den traditionella systemutvecklingen är att det är många informationssystem som inte blir implementerade eller använda på grund av att användarna inte accepterat det nya informationssystemet, likaså är ofta projekten överbudgeterade och tidsöverskridande. En av orsakerna till detta är att användarna inte deltar aktivt under utvecklingsprocessen, vilket gör att systemutvecklarna inte får all den information de behöver för att utveckla ett informationssystem som motsvarar förväntningarna.I detta examensarbete undersöks om tillvägagångssättet participatory design (PD), som innebär att användaren aktivt deltar i hela utvecklingsprocessen, går att integrera med den traditionella systemutvecklingsansatsen, där utvecklingen sker med användarna som stöd till systemutvecklarna.Integrationen har gjorts genom att dels byta ut tekniker i systemutvecklingsmetoden SSADM och dels genom att kombinera SSADMs tekniker med PD-tekniker. Detta resultat har används tillsammans med intervjuer för att avgöra om PD-tekniker kan användas i alla traditionella systemutvecklingsmetoder. Resultatet av integrationen visar att det är möjligt att integrera PD-tekniker med den traditionella systemutvecklingsansatsen..
