Daily citizens are informed by the media about the environment and the climate changes. The schools purpose is to educate students according to events that are of current interest and take place in present time. According to Swedish curriculum, Lpf94, all Swedish education should include and discuss the problems surrounding durable development. The purpose of the study is to se how the textbooks in History, Social studies and Geography and their contents meet the demands of the curriculum. The study shows that only the textbooks in geography meets the demands that the curriculums have on durable development.

Large quantities of chemicals are used in all areas of society. The chemicals can be toxic and dangerous for the environment if used incorrectly. To protect people and the environment from dangerous chemicals, a good control of them and an active work to phase out hazardous substances in all areas where chemicals are present, are needed. The purpose of this thesis is to examine how teachers work and reflects on gender education in preschools. We also want to take part of how teacher?s thoughts are reflected in the physical indoor environment and how the environment is designed by reviewing the rooms furnishing and the selected materials. We will do this by visiting a number of preschools located in Stockholm and New York. We have chosen three questions to get the answers on our purpose.How teachers reflect around gender pedagogy are, and how the thoughts are expressed in the practical work.How the teachers communicate with their co-workers about gender pedagogy.How the teachers own thoughts and reflections on gender pedagogy have been expressed in the physical indoor environment where the children stay during the day. We have used interviews and observations as a method to gather the information that we needed to answer our questions of the thesis.
Barns tankar kring sopor : Hur arbetar förskollärare med ämnet?
The purpose of this analysis was by qualitative semi-structured interviews with twelve children 5-years old and six pre-school teachers at three pre-schools, a total of six departments, find out how pre-school teachers worked with waste separation, if it motivated the children to take care of the environment, and if the work was understandable for the children. The results showed that the children did not comprehend what the pre-school teachers expressed that they worked with regarding waste separation and actions connected to caring for the environment. The pre-school teachers also expressed that the children was not mature enough to learn about the process when waste separated garbage is recycled, and that the work with the subject therefore had been carried out on a lower level. The children however expressed knowledge that did not come straight from their actual every day life, but since dialogue about the subject did not seem to exist between pre-school teachers and children, the pre-school teachers appeared to have failed in making the learning meaningful and understandable for the children, from their knowledge, experiences and interests..

Sustainable consumption. How the Swedish consumption pressures the global environment and methods to measure the affects was investigated. The pressure was divided into five main fields: climate, air, water, land and chemicals. The impacton humans and the biodiversity was also discussed, as well as differences between how men and women affect the environment and get affected when the environment changes.

One of our big public health problems in Sweden is that human beings are too inactive in outdoor settings. That is why stress related diseases increase and influence humans both mentally and physical. The physical activity is halved among many children when they start school and the older they become the less they enjoy school. It is also an increasing problem that children and youth in today's society have lack of worthwhile experiences in the nature. The aim of this study was therefore to examine how the experience of outdoor environment had importance for health and learning on upper secondary school pupils.

Resultatet av vår undersökning visar att föräldrar med en högre utbildning i större utsträckning deltog mer aktivt i valet samt i högre grad påverkade sina barn i deras val än föräldrar med en lägre utbildning. En tendens som vi kan se är att en majoritet av barnen själva letade upp den skola som de ville gå på. Det som var viktigast i valet till gymnasieskola var att skolan hade det önskade programmet och en speciell profil som bidrog till barnets utveckling. Att gymnasiet var centralt beläget och att det var en mindre skola med god skolmiljö upplevdes även det som viktigt..
Finns det samband mellan grönområden i närmiljö och ungas hälsa?
The objective of this master thesis was to study the relation between public green open space and health among adolescents in Uppsala municipality, Sweden. The aim of the study was to investigate if there is an association between the access to green open space in the living environment and adolescent´s health, in terms of fysical activity, self- reported health and overweight. The public health questionnaire ?Liv och Hälsa Ung 2009? provided data together with a map over public green space, where the measure taken into account is the proportion of public green space in the living environment. The study includes 3423 adolescents, 12-19 years old.
?Ingen ska fan säga till mig hur jag ska tillbringa tiden med mina barn? : En kvalitativ intervjustudie av lärares och föräldrars perspektiv på föräldrasamverkan i grundskolan
Huvudsyftet med denna studie är att belysa utvalda lärares och föräldrars perspektiv på hur föräldrasamverkan implementeras i deras aktuella grundskolor. Varierade aspekter till varför detta samarbete är väsentligt beskrivs i relation till den aktuella forskningsfronten. Grunden till examensarbetet är en kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex föräldrar och fem verksamma lärare i en kommun i mellersta Sverige. Lärarna är verksamma på skilda skolor i kommunen med omnejd, med elever i olika grundsko-lestadier, varav en är högstadielärare. Föräldrarna har ett till fyra barn, där de som är i grundskoleålder är mellan sju och sexton år, även här på varierande skolor.I den tidigare forskningen har det bland annat framkommit att föräldrasamverkan eller ett samar-bete mellan hem och skola gynnar barns skolgång.

The psychosocial work environment in hard professions is hardly studied and this study was implemented to observe port workers psychosocial work environment in ports of Västerås and Köping. There are two purposes with this study: firstly, to examine how ports of Västerås and Köping, Mälarhamnar AB, can improve and develop their business by using psychosocial methods. To do this, a questionnaire study and three interviews with workers were done and the results were used in a SWOT- analysis. Secondly, the aim is to be able to use the results and make a difference in the business development by adjusting the psychosocial work environment. The results show that the employees are happy at work and are happy with their work colleagues.

Title: Veingeskolan F - Investigation of the indoor environment and a structural analysisMethod: Complete analysis of structural drawings to determine if the school have been constructed correctly. In my teorethical studies of the drawings I must seek out points that may have been damaged from moisture, this contains a full survey of the foundation, walls and ceiling. To strenghten the data collected from the drawings I must visit the school and do field investigations to find out if the school has any problems with the indoor environment.Analysis: I determined that we had some damages on specific places, these damages was caused by leaking roofs, a carpet that was tarnished by strong sunlight in connection with some type of glue and also the ventilation that may have been drawing malodorous air from a shaft in the foundation.Conclusion: I was able to see that the decision to demolish the school was quite drastic, if the county would have done continuous fixups on the construcion when the employes had complained maybe the action to the tear the school down would have been unnecessary. The lack of communication between the two parts lead up to the decision to demolish and build a complete new school..

The purpose of this study is to review the legal situation of the psychosocial work enivronment for principals. The purpose is also to get an increased understanding for how the principals work environment can affect people involved in the swedish school. The psychosocial work environment is explained through studying European law, national law and case law. The principals work situation is studied by different sources, for example from the Work Environment Agency and a report from the Swedish School Agency. The legal dogmatic method has been applied with the legal sociology method to analyze the material.
Att vara i en intensivvårdsmiljö - patientens perspektiv
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a special unit for patients who is in the need
for emergency life-sustaining measures and every patient has complex medical-
technical equipment. The experiences of a critical illness and the needs of
critical care are experienced in different ways. The purpose of this study was
to describe the experiences from patients in the ICU and how this experience
has an influence on the patients. The method was a study of literature with a
qualitative inception based on eight scientific articles and the analysis of
content has been inspired by Graneheim and Lundman (2003). The result of the
study is presented by four categories: to loose the ability to make themselves
understood, to be forced to adjust to the environment of caring, to have the
lack of connection with reality and to be in an intensive care environment, The
results showed that patients in the ICU are affected by the attitude from the
staff, the equipment around them as well as the sounds and lights in the
environment there.
Hållbar katastrofturism - ur ett miljöperspektiv
This thesis is about catastrophe tourism and the sustainability of the tourism in an environmental perspective. The purpose is to see if there is any interest for that kind of tourism and to see if the people who have an interest or curiosity of it thinks about the environment when they are traveling. A quantitative survey was made on the internet and people on Facebook, Resedagboken.se and Reseforum.se had the chance to answer it. There is an interest of catastrophe tourism and a few have been to catastrophe sites or would like to visit. The conclusion of the thesis is that there is a possibility of a sustainable catastrophe tourism because most of those who answered that they had or wanted to visit a catastrophe site also thought about the environment and cleaning up after themselves..
