Background: A debated subject in today?s society is CEO compensation. Companies which give the CEO compensation mean that it motivates them to maximize the company?s return. The compensations are based on various types of variables, such as financial measures and financial ratio.

This thesis is about the idea of public transport and the discussions stirred in the media during changes in ownership. More specifically it is a study of the historical situation of Stockholm, Sweden, where the periods chosen are the 1910s, 1960s and 1990s.During the 1910s Stockholm?s first and largest tram company was taken over by thecity, and a period of public ownership began, which in the 1960s changed form whenthe county council took over the city?s principal authority and formed the politicallyadministered company SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, Greater Stockholm LocalTransit Company). Between these periods the word kollektivtrafik (public transport)was established in the Swedish language. This study describes and compares the ideasconcerning the phenomenon of public transport.The aim of the study is to analyse the ideas, values and ideals concerning public transport in the media, defined as newspapers.

I want to find the meaning of food ?potato in today?s society. How about marketing and how does potato consumes? What can be done to achieve better competitiveness towards other products now and in the future? I will build this project on a statistic ground ?now and then? as well as a study to people outside various food- markets. The consumers answers will state my foundation in this project.

When the United Nations Security Council puts an embargo against a country, this often mean an import and export restriction. The thought is to push undemocratic regimes into respecting human rights. When the embargo is in force, however, the parties are not able to fulfill their contractual obligations, which practically means that the agreement will be suspended. The problem is what happens when an embargo is in force for a longer period of time.

This master thesis is about art activity in the public library. The essay takes its starting point from Government cultural political directives and my purpose has been to study how these are followed up in the municipal level. My survey takes place at the main library of Flen in the county of Södermanland. What I am looking for is, what the art activity looks like, what is decided regarding it and what the strategies are. Furthermore I look into how library visitors understand and participate in the art activity.

Detta examensarbete skrevs på uppdrag av Södra skogsägarna. Syftet med arbetet var att fördjupa kunskapen om marknaden för pannved i Nederländerna. Arbetet beskriver bland annat kunder till vedföretagen, priser för ved, var veden kommer ifrån samt hur vedföretagen ser på framtiden inom vedmarknaden. Förutom detta ger arbetet även en bild av Nederländerna, dess energiförsörjning, den förnyelsebara energin och skogsråvaran i landet. Teorierna som ligger till grund för arbetet är framförallt marknadsundersökning, omvärldsanalys och beskrivning av erbjudandet.

Singapore är ett av världens mest tätbefolkade länder och har samtidigt en elkonsumtion per capita som är en av de högsta i världen. Landet har inga egna energiresurser utan för att klara av sin höga elkonsumtion är de i stor utsträckning beroende av import av fossila bränslen, främst naturgas importerad i gasledningar från Malaysia och Indonesien.En konsekvens av detta är att Singapores har låg energisäkerhet. Energisäkerhet innebär att energiförsörjningen ska vara prisvärd, pålitlig och tillräcklig. Med sitt stora beroende av importerade fossila bränslen är Singapore utsatt för flera energisäkerhetsrisker vilket kan få många förödande konsekvenser.Att förnybar energi kan bidra till miljömässiga fördelar lyfts ofta fram, men hur förnybar energi kan bidra till bättre energisäkerhet är mindre välkänt. Det finns flera energisäkerhetsrisker relaterade till att använda fossila bränslen och förnybar energi kan därmed, i de länder där rätt förutsättningar finns, minska dessa energisäkerhetsrisker.Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka om förnybara energikällor kan bidra till en säkrare elförsörjning i Singapore.

Detta arbete grundar sig på litteraturstudier samt en enkätstudie bland fem djurkliniker. Frågeställningen var om importerade hundar kan innebära en ökad risk för spridning av infektionssjukdomar. Studierna visar att de svenska införselkraven är bra för att förhindra att rabies och rävens dvärgbandmask förs in i landet. Däremot regleras ingen annan av de sjukdomar som är vanligt förekommande i Europa. Den ökade importen av hundar från EU-området gör att fler sjukdomar kan introduceras i Sverige.Många av sjukdomarna är zoonoser och kan vara dödliga för den hund som smittas.

China is one of the fastest growing markets in the worldand play an important role on export and import of commodities across the globe. ManySwedish companies have more business collaborations with China than ever. Differencesbetween the cultures can lead to many difficulties for both the employees and the employer.There is both a challenge and a necessityto find ways to communicate, and to get moreknowledge in how to follow and lead people from different background and perspectives. Theaim of this study is to investigate how leaders through their leadership deal with contextualdifferences between China and Sweden and which effect these differences can have.

Although most people connect globalization to export and import of goods, the globalization process also affect the businesses distinguished by service. The corporations are faced with higher demands of adaptation, which in turn leads to higher needs of skills and knowledge, which of course is very important in business such as the hotel industry. A motivated employee can perform better and furthermore has a stronger sense of belonging to the organization and might therefore be a key to future success of the company.Purpose:The main purpose of this essay is to compare the motivation strategies and reward systems chosen by the management and match this with what the employees are requesting. By doing this we can compare the different objects studied in this essay and furthermore we will be able to see which hotel that has the best match.

In the EU the amount of waste increased by 14 percent during the years 2000 to 2010. EU?s target to reduce waste generation runs parallel with the aim of increasing the efficiency and profitability aligned with energy recovery. In Sweden the energy recovery through incineration is increasing steadily, and 46 percent of the municipal solid waste (MSW) is treated by combustion. This report aims to examine the profitability of processing MSW into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from an economic-, energy- and environmental perspective.

An important task for project managers in multi-project environments is to effectively choose the right people to the project team. For organizations, it means being able to prioritize and plan human resources among the various projects running in parallel. The purpose of this paper is to describe how a project manager in multi-project environments looks at the allocation of people in their projects. We did our research through literature reviews and interviews with seven project managers.The research shows that the studied organizations highlight both the expertise and the personal factors in an election. They do not use any specific personality test to identify their staff.

Organisations constantly live under the potential threat of events and accidents that seriously could harm the organisation. Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB, the company that this master thesis focus on, is in no aspect excepted from this threat. Through an early identification of near misses and the taking of corrective action in use, Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB has managed to reduce the likelihood and the consequence of events and accidents. The purpose of this master thesis is to evalutate Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB?s operation experience process on the basis of IAEA?s and WANO?s requirements within the field of operation experience and to develop a usable system applicably within the field of operation experience.The thesis is divided into two parallel tracks, where one is the evaluation of the operation experience process and the other the design of a usable system, applicably within the field of operation experience.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka huruvida Kina har lyckats implementera den lagstiftning IPRs (Intellectual Property Rights) som togs i bruk 2001. Vidare undersöks de effekter som lagen har haft på viljan att satsa resurser och medel på FoU. I uppsatsen redogörs det för de för- och nackdelar som en stärkt IPRs lagstiftning medför. Bland de fördelar som nämns läggs tonvikten på teknologiöverföring, teknologi som överförs från utvecklade länder till utvecklingsländer genom bland annat import av varor. Bland de nackdelar som nämns finns de stora kostnader som implementeringen av lagstiftningen medför.
