The introduction to this study describes the symptoms of depression and how depression in elders is expressed. It also describes treatment possibilities and nursing aspects of concern.

Background:Alzheimer´s disease is a so-called degenerative dementia in which brain cells gradually degenerate and die. The disease causes memory disorders and the trait of character disappears. Alzheimer´s disease also affects the related parties that may take a great responsibility. Related caregivers are entitled to support from healthcare. Aim:The aim of the study was to describe the experiences of being related when caring for a person suffering from Alzheimer´s disease.

Cancer är av de vanligaste sjukdomarna i västvärlden. Sjukdomen innebär för många smärta och minskad livskvalitet. För att bidra till ökad livskvalitet även hos personer med cancer som inte går att bota, har palliativ vård utvecklats. Denna vård syftar bland annat till att bedöma och utvärdera smärta och utifrån detta erbjuda behandling. Syftet med studien var att kartlägga hur patienter upplever cancersmärta, vilka faktorer som påverkar upplevelsen och hur patienterna upplever sjukvårdens insatser för att lindra smärtan.

Efter att olika inlånade organisationsmodeller från industrin under 1930 till 1960-talet visat på brister när det gäller organisation av hälso- och sjukvård, introducerades i slutet av 1960-talet primary nursing. Modellen bygger på en till en principen, 24-timmars ansvar och minimal arbetsdelning, vilket leder till att sjuksköterskor ser hela människan och bedriver en patientcentrerad vård. Den rådande organisationsmodellen påverkar sjuksköterskans upplevelse och därför har vi utifrån vårt syfte, att beskriva sjuksköterskans upplevelse av primary nursing, valt att göra en litteraturstudie. Med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats har vi analyserat data från tio artiklar. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: att känna ansvar och vara självständig, att samarbete och kommunikation är avgörande, att patienter och anhöriga är nöjda och trygga, att känna tillfredställelse i arbetet samt krav och hinder.

Our paper is based on matrixes and the feedback process as tools in the daily work in the higher education system. The main purpose with this paper is to investigate if these tools can enhance the effect of formative assessment and increase students? empowerment in the courses. In do-ing so, we investigate if students experience that their efforts result in increased progression in their courses and if they acquire adequate proficiency in the subject matters native to their pro-grams, along with an increased desire for lifelong learning. Nearly nine percent of the population in Sweden are 75 years or older. Still they consume more than a quarter of all medicines. This increased use, is specially noticeable in nursing home residents, where the elderly is using a average of 8-10 preparations per day. According to the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden, the number of drugs and specially psychotropic drugs, has proved to be a risk factor for drug-related problems among the elderly, such as drug interaction and side effects. Routines for regular and systematic follow-up of drug prescription and utilisation reviews were not extensively implemented.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att se vilka effekter taktil massage ger hos personer med demens. Sökning av artiklar har gjorts på databaserna CINAHL, ELIN@Dalarna och PubMed där sökorden dementia, massage, nursing, older people, Therapeutic touch och touch användes i olika kombinationer. Litteraturstudien består av kvantitativa och kvalitativa artiklar. Artiklarna skulle vara vetenskapliga och inte publicerade före 1995, de skulle även svara på syfte och frågeställning. För att säkerställa att kvalitén på artiklarna var hög granskades de med en granskningsmall.

The aim of this study was to describe and understand parents? perspectives in aid assessment for children according to The Swedish Act (1993:387) concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (Lag 1993:387 om stöd och service till vissa funktionshindrade, LSS). The study took place in the county of Kronoberg, Sweden, and was based on a total of nine qualitative interviews. Four interviews were made with parents? of children who has interventions according to LSS (1993:387) and five interviews were made with LSS case workers. In our study we saw that parents? perspectives often is the largest amount of information that case workers take into account when assessing aid and as a case worker you listen to the parents perspectives to capture the child?s and the family?s needs. It also came clear that the parents? perspective is not only about the child?s needs, but also includes the parent?s own needs and their family?s needs. The parents in the study felt that they made the decision about the choice of aid and considered themselves as the one who decides the family?s requirements. It turned out that treatment and understanding from the case workers was important for gaining access to the best help and making parents feel listened to. Parental responsibility was of great importance for the assessment, and it often led to disagreement between parents and case workers. During the study, we saw that power existed in the relationship between case workers and parents, but that it could be moved and changed during the time of aid assessment..
