Företag i Mästarklass - En kvalitativ studie av MSAB, ASSA ABLOY, AAK och HEXPOL

This essay focus on three companies within the MSAB group. All companies have shown an incredible share price development since MSAB´s initial investment and ownership. The companies has been examined from the CEO´s perspective to map out similar factors of success. The aim of the study was to compare and see if the companies operate in line with Jim Collins (2001) study of how Great companies operate. The analysis show that, despite the young age of MSAB, ASSA ABLOY and AAK, they all fulfill Collins hard criterias for Great companies..

One could argue that the most discussed topic in finance is whether or not it is possible to ?beat the market?. Even though many people claim to do this, there is little evidence to support the idea that one can consistently beat the market over a long period of time. There are indeed several examples of investors who have managed to outperform the market consistently for a long time, but the efforts of these individuals or institutions could by many be considered to be pure luck.One of the many strategies that have been evaluated by several researchers and is said to generate a risk adjusted return greater than that of the market, is one based on the P/E-effect. This strategy is based on the financial ratio P/E ? price divided by earnings ? and used by constructing portfolios consisting of stocks with low P/E ratios.

This is a qualitative case study that aims to examine the small entrepreneur?s choice of financing solutions and their thoughts on various forms of financing. The authors have chosen to specifically examine entrepreneurs who do not have experience that stretches more than three years in entrepreneurship and the restaurant business. The study used three different companies in the restaurant business in Stockholm and semi-structured interviews were conducted with all owners of the company, corresponding to a total of six respondents. The study's findings show the relationship of entrepreneurs who believe that the experience of the industry and entrepreneurship is valuable also are more prone to giving away some ownership in exchange for a certain expertise and funding..

The aim of this thesis is to get an idea of how service companies set their prices. The method used was a case study approach, which was conducted at three real estate companies. The study showed that when setting their prices, the main aspect is their own costs. However, we have found that several other aspects play a big role when setting prices on services in real estate business such as individual customer behaviour and market competition. We have also found that the real estate companies charge very similar prices.

This thesig will portray the different types of students at the programs of library studiesin Lund &d Umeå.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey, which wasdistributed to first-year students in Lund and Umeå. The survey was followed by qualitativeinterviews with four students, and with the director of studies from each school.The study shows that the programs, as we11 as the students, are very similar, althoughthere are some minor diferences. It seemed that the students at Umeå were moreinterested4n culture than those at Lund.A certain connection between the aim at information and the ownership of a computercould be detected.
