The purpose of this essay is to examine the development of the use of private securitycontractors in Iraq. The reason is that there has been a considerable increase of the number ofprivate security firms operating in Iraq during the last couple of years. The legislation in thefield of private military and security is indistinct and my hypothesis is that the lack of nationaland/or international legislation can be connected to the increased globalization. To come toany conclusions about this I have chosen to make a comparative study between the two casesthe Gulf War and the War in Iraq which started in 2003. In this comparison, I ask thefollowing questions: 1) Are there any signs of anarchy in the field of private security duringthe Gulf War respectively the last War in Iraq? 2) In what way has the use of private securitycontractors changed from Case 1 to Case 2 ?According to my research, there were signs of anarchy in the field of private security bothduring the Gulf War and during the latest war in Iraq.

Offshoring, att ett företag delar av sin verksamhet till ett annat land, har blivit allt mer uppmärksammat, både av IT-företag och av fackpress. I denna uppsats har vi undersökt hur informanter vid tre företag i Sverige anser att deras företag har påverkats, organisatoriskt, efter det att de startade sin offshoring till Indien. Utöver detta har informanter vid kringliggande organisationer i den svenska IT-sektorn intervjuats för att ge sin syn på hur offshoring kan påverka den svenska IT-sektorn och dess företag. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att de undersökta företagen har påverkats genom förbättrade arbetsprocesser inom organisationen. Personal har omplacerats eller vidareutbildats inom organisationen.

The purpose of this thesis was to study managers in the tourism market who works with internal marketing towards their personnel. A case study with two tourism providers, Hotel La-ponia and Mix Ranch, was performed. The cases were based on personal interviews with the hotel manager at Hotel Laponia and with the owner of Mix Ranch. The research questions were based on why tourist providers use internal marketing and how tourist providers use internal marketing. The findings were that it was regarded as very important to have moti-vated, satisfied, and properly trained personnel in this business because they are the ones who have direct communication with the clients and they are an important issue to help the com-pany to success.

The study of culture is specifically relevant to libraries confronting changes. A variety of conditions makes it beneficial for libraries to understand the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the underlying culture. Such an understanding can help libraries in adjusting to changes easier, without losing the cultural values that they hold important to their identity and strategic strengths.Taking this as a starting point the purpose of this essay is to examine and describe what aspects in prevailing library cultures are important to pay attention to when meeting changes. To accomplish this we will explore the concept of library culture, its substance, meaning and expression.Culture is reflected in the artifacts, values and underlying assumptions of formal and informal groups. This report contains the work of a where a program has been developed to be able to process a vibration created by an automatic hammer hitting on a log of wood. From the processed signal the program should be able to show both the raw wavesignal and the processed measured data from the resonance peaks. Beyond the raw wavesignal and resonance peaks the program should also be able to control the automatic hammer.

Problem: Leveranser av IT tjänster från lågkostnadsländer till Sverige.Syfte: Att ta reda på hur svenska företag ser på leveranser av IT tjänster från lågkostnadsländer och ta reda på vilka drivkrafter och hinder som existerar. Eftersom Indien är det land som står för de största volymerna vad gäller produktion av IT tjänster så blir det naturligt att fokusera mest på det landet.Teori och modell: Idag produceras hälften av världens IT tjänster i Indien. Svenska företag ligger ungefär tre år efter sina brittiska och amerikanska kollegor vad gäller att köpa IT tjänster från Indien.Metod: Vi valde en kvalitativ metod för att få fördjupad information kring ämnet och genomförde nio intervjuer med olika svenska företag. Förutom dessa intervjuer hämtade vi data från publicerade artiklar.Resultat: Vår undersökning visar på att Indien är ett land att satsa på vad det gäller leveranser av IT tjänster. Att hitta tillräckligt stora IT projekt för att Indien ska ses som lönsamt, verkar vara det främsta hindret.

Synen på förvaltningen har ändrats ganska kraftigt under 1900-talet och med uppkomsten av externa förvaltningsbolag började vi fundera kring vad det kunde ha för betydelse för förvaltningsprocessen. Därför blev vår problemformulering; Finns det några organisatoriska och strategiska skillnader mellan förvaltning i egen regi kontra outsourcing som kan få effekter för förvaltningen? Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera hur fastighetsförvaltningen påverkas av de organisatoriska och strategiska skillnader som finns mellan olika typer av fastighetsförvaltningsbolag. Vi har arbetat med ett uppdragsförvaltande bolag, ett bolag med fastighetsförvaltning i egen regi samt ett företag som står för hela processen från mark och byggande till förvaltning. Information har samlats in från relevant teori och via intervjuer med berörda företag.

One of the essential needs of human beings is to be involved in a social context. The intention of this study was to see if the opportunity to have an iPod Touch, could make it possible for students with literacy difficulties to participate in the regular classes and if the implementation of iPod Touch in the school setting would result in informal learning outside the school. In this case study two pupils with literacy difficulties have been using an iPod Touch in their daily school activity. The pupils as well as their teachers have been interviewed about their experiences of implementing iPod Touch as a tool in the regular classroom teatching. The results indicate that iPod Touch can help students to be in inclusive education and that they use the iPod Touch outside school.

Warehouses are a key aspect of modern supply chains and play a vital role in the success or failure of businesses today. Figures from the USA indicate that the capital- and operating costs of warehouses represent about 22 % of a company?s logistics costs while figures from Europe indicate 25 % (Baker & Canessa, 2009). Because warehousing is such an important function within a company, the authors chose to focus on this in their thesis. The purpose of this thesis has been to examine the significance of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and item identification with attention to logistic efficiency.

The aim of our study is to explore the thoughts and beliefs held by the professionals who work with the sentence youth service for young offenders, and how they feel about the same.How is the sentence youth service perceived from a professional perspective? How does the concurrence look like between the police, the social services and the prosecutor, when it comes to young offenders? What kind of difficulties/challenges do the professionals see in the possibility to effect the sentence youth service?The study is based on a qualitative method. The data consists of seven semi-structured interviews with two police officers, four social workers and one prosecutor.The results of our study indicate that youth service is a good sentence for young first-time offenders; the study also indicates that concurrence between the different professions is a success factor; furthermore the study revealed that it was very difficult finding adequate working places..
