The Swedish Armed Forces is a public institution and consequently obliged to follow Swedish and international legislation. Thus, they are subjected to contrarious demands from different actors operating in its high-technological and high-institutional environment: to be a legitimate institution and at the same time operate with a high level of efficiency. This thesis is conducted with the aim of investigating whether The Swedish Armed Forces' steering document for gender equality is used to achieve visible and quantifiable results or if the document constitute a medium for reverberating legitimacy. To answer the research question, we applied a critical discourse analysis on the relevant documents and on the conducted semi-constructed interviews with members from different levels and positions in the organizational hierarchy. Subsequently, we came to the conclusion that the Swedish Armed Forces manage the demands for efficiency and legitimacy, which are forced upon them from the technological and institutional environment, by talking about them.

Within the last year many companies have proactively started to communicate their flaws and weaknesses, believing that this will lead to they being perceived as more personal and human. Dominos Pizza is one of many examples of a company using this practice as a strategic tool for communication. However, the problem concerning the above arises as we found that there was a very limited amount of research defining the effects of communicating flaws, where the company's both dispatcher and initiator. Our study aims to fill the gap between this growing trend and the limited research explaining the communication effects. The study was carried out as an experiment where a total of 420 respondents participated.

The purpose of this study is tounderstand the approach that the staff who works in the aftercare for juvenileoffenders have to the organizational structure in the organization they workin. SiS is the authority which is taking care of the juvenile offenders if theybeen sentence to closed youth institutional care, when they are done it is thesocial service were the adolescent live which is responsible for the aftercare.This is decided by the law since 1999, if a young person between 15 and 17commit a serious crime, they can be sentenced to closed youth institutionalcare. The interest for this study was the aftercare and what possibleparticipant was involved in the aftercare for this young people. By looking upearlier research in the area and doing six different interviews with bothsocial workers, staff on the SiS-institution and an organization for ex convictthe purpose was examines. To analyze the interviews the theory called newinstitutionalism was used.

At the Women?s House in Örebro, a children?s project has started where the work method ?Oasen? [Oasis] model has been developed by two children?s educationists. The aim of this study is, with the ?Oasen? model as a starting point, to deepen the knowledge of (1) how to meet children?s central needs while staying at a Women?s House and (2) what the ?Oasen? model may contribute to the children. The theoretical framework consists of a cognitive approach to the progress of children experiencing domestic violence and a presentation of conceptions concerning children?s needs.

I dagens samhälle talas det mycket om vad bra ledarskap är, vilka positiva följder det för med sig och vad man kan lära av dessa ledare. Dock förekommer det i många fall även dåligt ledarskap. På senare tid har fenomenet destruktivt ledarskap uppmärksammats mer. Ett fenomen som dock ännu inte utforskats i så stor utsträckning. Denna uppsats har till syfte att analysera hur ett antal faktorer kan skapa förutsättningar för destruktivt ledarskap.

Title: Defending one's origin ? a musical journey to Transylvania.A journey to the Transylvanian part of Romania was pursued with the intent to investigate the cultural aspects of the historically and politically rooted set of relations between the Hungarian peaking minority and the majority of the population, the Romanian speaking group. Music pedagogical ambitions within the two cultures were used as reflections of these phenomena. In trying to shed light on my questions and extract the relations between the dominating and the dominated in this specific cultural and social context I have used the central themes of Bourdieu ? capital, habitus and field.

Syftet med denna studie är att, utifrån ett matematikdidaktiskt perspektiv, undersöka hur derivata introduceras i gymnasiets kurs Matematik C. Vi har i huvudsak fokuserat på didaktik och kognitiv utveckling. I en genomgång av relevant litteratur har vi tagit del av teorier och resultat från tidigare forskning inom samma område. Litteraturen försöker besvara frågan om hur lärare på bästa sätt kan överbrygga kognitiva hinder och ge elever en djupare förståelse kring de matematiska sammanhangen.Vårt material består av kvalitativa intervjuer med lärare från två skolor och ett antal läroböcker. Genomgången av intervjumaterialet har resulterat i fyra teman att använda som grund för hela studien: allmänt lärande, matematiklärande, derivatbegreppet samt visualisering.De lärare vi intervjuar vill alla stimulera elevers intresse för mer avancerad matematik.

Personalkontoret på Lunds tekniska högskola intresserade sig för universitetsadministratörernas speciella situation på sina respektive institutioner. För att undersöka detta fick jag i uppdrag att skriva en uppsats, där syftet blev att beskriva och analysera institutionsadministratörernas uppfattning om sin kompetens och sitt lärande inom LTH. För att finna svar på detta, utförde jag intervjuer med administratörer och medmedarbetare från personalkontoret.Resultaten visade att administratörerna hade många olika arbetsuppgifter, där de såg betydelsen av sin arbetslivserfarenhet för att ha lärt sig sitt arbete. Mycket av lärandet skedde framför datorn där arbetsuppgifterna utfördes i stor utsträckning. Informationssökning via hemsidor ökade och ansågs i vissa fall som svår.

The purpose of this study was to understand how the concept of quality as an idea was spread to and translated in municipal elderly care. A central question was: How does literature, policy documents and key people describe the function and meaning of the concept of quality? The method of analysis was a qualitative case study with a critical discourse. The theoretical framework of the study is mainly what is known as institutional theory and a line of thought describing how ideas are transferred and spread. The theoretical focus is on how original ideas are interpreted and why they gain a foothold in new contexts.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka relationen mellan commitment gentemot organisationen och chefs-commitment i en svensk kontext med hjälp av TCM Employee Commitment Survey. Metoden för att undersöka detta var en webbenkät som delades ut till sammanlagt 188 personer, med en svarsfrekvens på 35%. Respondenterna arbetade i tre olika organisationer inom offentlig sektor. I enkäten fick respondenterna ta ställning till påståenden rörande sin organisation och sin närmaste chef. Resultatet visade att ju lägre continuance commitment är gentemot närmaste chef, desto högre är affective commitment gentemot organisationen.

This thesis analyses the rise and fall of social movements. Social movementsfunctions in the civil society, by contentious collective action they form identities,mobilize their forces and use repertoires of contentions to make new or previouslyunaccepted claims. They function in a limited timeframe, sooner or later they getinstitutionalized, marginalised or succumb into violence. The landless movementin Brazil is one of the most profound social movements in the world; their majorgoal is a land reform. Since the leftwing president Lula da Silva won the Brazilianelection in 2002 the president has been unable to live up to the expectations fromthe landless movement about implementing a land reform.

Dagens samhälle är förvisso inte samstämmigt med gårdagens och inte heller morgondagens. Trots att det i samhällsdebatten idag gärna hävdas att klassamhället snart inte längre existerar så finns det fortfarande där i alla högsta grad. Ett samhälle där individer upplever klasstillhörighet och där klassidentiteten är en del av den sociala identiteten.Genom en litteraturstudie som baseras på tre rikstäckande undersökningar i ämnet klassidentitet har jag studerat hur viktig känslan av klasstillhörighet och klassidentitet är för individens identitetsskapande. Med en pedagogiskt sociologisk ansats har jag sökt besvara frågan; Hur inverkar klasstillhörighet och klassidentitet på individens identitetsutveckling? Samt med följdfrågan; vilken påverkan kan en underskattad eller försvagad syn på klasstillhörigheten få för individens identitetsutveckling? Resultatet visar att en majoritet av de tillfrågade i materialet anser att klassamhället fortfarande förekommer samt att de känner klasstillhörighet och kan identifiera sig med sin klass, vilket visar att det närmast kan ses som oansvarligt att i dagsläget försöka ignorera klassindelningens existens.
