In the school subject of the natural sciences it is imperative that the students are given opportunities to ?talk science?, since the dialogues that occur in the classroom have a significant importance for the students? abilities to engage in meaning-making in their learning process. Hence, the student and teacher interaction in the classroom and the feedback given there play a significant role in the students? learning process. The aim of this study is to contribute to the development of formative assessment tools that can mediate the students? meaning-making in natural sciences subjects in upper-secondary school.

MedView-projektet, som startades 1995, är en av många organisationer som söker webbasera sin information. Projektet är ett tvärvetenskapligt samarbete mellan disciplinerna oral medicin och datavetenskap och inom projektet har en samling av applikationer tagits fram som kan lagra samt presentera data. Den insamlade informationen sparas i en filbaserad kunskapsbas.Tanken är nu, vilket angavs i projektets anslagsansökan till Vinnova 2003, att webbasera denna kunskapsbas så att kliniker inom oral medicin samt andra intresserade inom området skall ha tillgång till informationen. Detta arbete behandlar framtagandet av en central webbplats med ett tillhörande behörighetssystem.I detta arbete visas att UNIX behörighetsmodell kan användas som utgångspunkt för att skapa ett webbaserat behörighetssystem samt att de krav som identifierats kan implementeras tillsammans med behörighetssystemet i en central webbplats för MedView.

Bakgrund: Astma är en kronisk inflammatorisk luftvägssjukdom som är vanligt förekommande i alla åldersgrupper. Över 300 miljoner människor världen över beräknas ha sjukdomen.Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka om den orala hälsan hos barn med astma skiljer sig från den orala hälsan hos barn utan astma.Metod: Metoden som användes var en allmän litteraturstudie och litteratursökningarna gjordes i den medicinska databasen PubMed. Resultatet baseras utifrån en sammanställning av 13 vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna var kliniska studier och 11 av dessa hade en kontrollgrupp där barn med och utan astma jämfördes. Övriga två artiklar studerade antingen hur den orala hälsan påverkades av kombinationsbehandling med specifika läkemedel eller jämförde den orala hälsan hos barn med olika duration och medicinering mot astma.Resultat: Några av de inkluderade studierna fann att barn med astma hade en ökad kariesförekomst jämfört med barn utan astma, medan andra studier visade att det inte fanns någon skillnad mellan grupperna.

Artificiell intelligens (AI) är en stor del i dagens datorspel. För att få inblick i komplexiteten runt AI i spelutveckling och för att förstå delar som AI består av har detta projekt genomförts. Målet var att skapa en AI-motor från grunden med bra grundplattform som är enkel att bygga vidare på. Innan projektet startade utfördes en förundersökning där olika alternativ för kartrepresentationer och grafsökningsalgoritmer togs fram. Utvecklingen av AI-motorn har haft ett starkt beroende till projektet där en spelmotor utvecklats av Niklas Ekman och Christian Mesch.

Examensarbetet var en utvärdering av en synkron trefas permanentmagnetmotor med utvändig rotor. Den är tänkt att ingå i ett batterimatat drivsystem för hjälputrustning på segelbåtar. Målen var att kartlägga prestandan i standardutförande samt att hitta de svaga punkterna i konstruktionen. Förslag på hur motorutförandet kan optimeras ska också läggas fram. Tester och mätningar gjordes i en testuppkoppling med växelriktare, motor och axelkopplad generator. Detta för att kunna få fram fler mätvärden på motorn.

AbstractThis degree thesis was made in cooperation with Chematur Engineering in Karlskoga.Many of the environmental issues of today are a result of the motor traffic. Consumption of fossil fuels harms our environmental through formation of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. To get under control with our environmental issues it?s important to find substitutes for oil that are both cheap and environmentally friendly. Ethanol has a long history as a motor fuel and is both enviromentally friendly has a high efficiency.According to the EU commissions directives for motor fuels, 5, 75 % of all the fuels in Sweden should be renewable in 2010.

The purpose of the study was to examine if Talking Mats® couldsupport communication and participation for people with Huntington?sdisease, carers and a dental hygienist in conversation about oral care. Elevendyads, a person with Huntington's disease and a carer, participated.Conversations with and without mats were video recorded and compared.Each participant responded to a questionnaire about how they experiencedthe conversations. Analysis with Effectiveness Framework of FunctionalCommunication showed that two participants increased their communicativeeffectiveness using Talking Mats®. Feelings of participation increased forall participants and were significantly higher for participants withHuntington's disease.

Can you ensure that your smoke detector will sense fire and sound the alarm in the middle of the night?In 80 percent of the cases where emergency pulls out, smoke detectors are missing where the fire occurred. In the year of 2009, 118 people in Sweden died in fires ? most of them would have survived if there had been a functioning smoke detector.Earlier development of smoke detectors has mainly been focusing on components that sense smoke and alert in case of fire. But in most cases the problem has not been whether the smoke detector was working or not as fully assembled, but rather that it was missing.

The purpose of this study is from a teacher?s perspective to examine how schoolteachers experience the possibilities of learning from each other within their work team and to shed some light on how teachers believe that cooperation affects their ability to learn and improve on a daily basis. My research questions are: What is the general discussion among the teachers concerning daily capacity building from enhanced teamwork? How important is well-functioning cooperation between co-workers for learning and daily capacity building? What are the prerequisites for a well-functioning learning situation within the work team?The study is based on five qualitative interviews with teachers within the same school but from different teaching backgrounds based on what grade they teach, what subjects they teach, and they belong to different work teams within the school. The interviews are semi-structured.The results have been analysed from a perspective based on the theories of organisational pedagogy and learning organisations.The results implies that the work teams does not function as a forum for exchanging experiences and learning from each other.

Denna litteraturstudie syftar till att ge en överblick i vad cannabis är för drog samt en överblick över fysiologisk påverkan samt orala följder och risker vid bruk av cannabis. Det kan konstateras att patienter som brukar eller missbrukar cannabis placeras i en riskgrupp för inflammationer och infektioner i munhålan. Exempel på sjukdomstillstånd som cannabisbrukare är utsatta för är gingivit, parodontit, xerostomi, karies, oral cancer, cannabis stomatit och candida albicans. Cannabis påverkar nästintill alla system i kroppen, speciellt det kardiovaskulära- och respiratoriska systemet samt immunsystemet. En direkt påverkan av den aktiva substansen delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) på det kardiovaskulära systemet kan leda till en hjärtrusning på grund av en förhöjd puls. Den aktiva substansen har även en direkt påverkan på immuncellernas aktivitet genom att ha en immunosuppressiv effekt på makrofager, T- och B-lymfocyter. Rökning av cannabis kan bidra till en kronisk inflammation av den orala mukosan.

Material handling is a term that includes all kinds of handling of material from a raw product to a finished one. ABB is active in the following segments; foundry, packaging and palletizing, metal industry and plastics industry.The demands for efficiency and reliability have been set very high in the industrial sector. Optimizing of the material handling will give the company higher cost-effectiveness. Around the robot there are different kinds of material flows, to optimize the cycle time, consisting of carriages combined in different ways.Motion Control is a complex system with main functions such as; positioning, synchronizing, indexing and more. The products in the system need to cooperate to make these functions possible therefore integration of motor- and servo products are important.

Storytelling is a complex action that requires many linguistic and other cognitive abilities, like memory and attention. Resent research has shown a correlation between oral story retelling and picture arrangement among children with neurodevelopmental disorders. The present study analyzes if this correlation exists among a convenience sample of children from the general population. 77 children between 3:11 and 9:0 years old accomplished Bus Story Test and a picture arrangement task from WISC III. Significant correlations was found between picture arrangement and Bus Story Test?s subscores sentence length, subordinate clauses and information.

AbstractA general store is a grocery store that is located in the countryside. In today's modern society, it is difficult for general stores to compete with the supermarkets and discounters in terms of price and supply. The purpose of this thesis is to create an understanding of both the rural merchants and its customers? perspective on a well-­?functioning general store. We have conducted a case study of three general stores where we interviewed the merchants about how they do to please their customers? needs and identify key elements of a well-­?functioning general store.

Denna uppsats behandlar hur lågpolygonobjekt kan detaljeras och optimeras för visning i HPL2, Frictional Games egenutvecklade motor. Uppsatsen jämför arbetsflödet för texturutveckling i applikationerna Zbrush och Mudbox och behandlar både modellering och tekniska aspekter av texturering.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på Saab Support and Services i Arboga. Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att ta fram en modell i Matlab som skall beräkna antal motorbyten, och hur många stora motortillsyner (Check 3) det kommer att bli. Detta skall utföras för att få en så kostnadseffektiv drift som möjligt fram till valt slutscenario, med 40 SK60 det vill säga 80 stycken RM15 motorer i drift. De scenarion som har påverkat projektet har varit 2014 VT, 2017 VT samt 2020 VT. Projektet har delats upp i två moment, där det ena har varit att skapa en databas i Excel för alla motorer och det andra är ett program i Matlab som skall bearbeta all data från Excel, för att på så sätt kunna få ut det mest optimala tillvägagångssättet.Det som vi har kommit fram till är att scenario 2014 VT kommer att uppnås med de aktuella motorer som finns tillgängliga idag utan att någon motor skickas iväg på Check 3.
