Abstract:In previous experiments with the bacterium Ideonella dechloratans a probable sequencecoding for a cytochrome c protein (cyt c) was observed, the sequence is assumed to have afunction in the bacterial respiratory chain. Detection attempts have been made to try to findthis protein, but have not succeeded. The purpose of this project is to detect the expressionof mRNA associated with the cytochrome c. And if it is detected, it will also be investigated ifthere is any difference in expression of the mRNA due to aerobic or anaerobic environment.Total RNA was purified from cultures grown under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. cDNAwas then synthesized using reverse transcriptase and subsequently amplified with thespecific primers in a qRT-PCR.qRT-PCR testing showed a distinct amplification of primer product, confirming that I.dechloratans expresses mRNA coding for the cyt c protein.

Det finns en begränsad mängd vetenskapliga studier om äldres uppfattning av tandhygienistbesök. Därför är det viktigt att belysa och få vetskap om vad äldre personer har för uppfattning av tandhygienistbesök för att få en ökad förståelse för denna patientgrupp och deras behov. Syftet med studien var att undersöka äldre personers uppfattning av tandhygienistbesök. Studien är en kvantitativ empirisk studie som utfördes med användning av en enkät som innehöll 22 frågor med fasta svarsalternativ som delades ut vid olika pensionärsföreningar och samlingsplatser. I studien ingick 110 äldre personer från åldern 65 år och däröver.

Green roofs have seen a revival in the society of today. They provide many functions of which both society as a whole and the individual can take part. In particular extensive green roofs, that requires little or even zero maintenance, provides very valuable functions. Green roofs affect our environment and our economy in a positive manner as well as the physical expression of buildings. In this bachelor thesis the impact of green roofs on society has been examined throughout literature studies. The result as a compilation of contemporary research in this field is presented together with a discussion about the use of green roofs in general. The two major arguments for an extended use of green roofs are, the high stormwater retention capacity and the cost-benefits seen over time compared to a conventional roof.

Introduktion: Uppskattningsvis lider 4-20% av världens vuxna befolkning av tandvårdsrädsla. Rädsla är individens normala emotionella reaktion inför hot eller fara. Rädslan uppväcker en fysiologisk spänning i kroppen som skapar ett kamp- och flyktbeteende hos individen vilket kallas akut stress. Det finns olika metoder för att förebygga och behandla tandvårdsrädsla.Syfte: Att beskriva bakomliggande orsaker till varför tandvårdsrädsla uppstår hos vuxna samt att undersöka om tandvårdsrädsla kan få konsekvenser för den orala hälsan och i så fall vilka konsekvenserna är.Metod: Systematisk litteraturstudie.Resultat: Orsaker: Det har konstaterats att patienter som har upplevt en obehaglig tandvårdssituation uppvisar högre grad av tandvårdsrädsla. Tandvårdsrädsla är multifaktoriell men rädsla för smärta har visat sig vara en central orsak till att tandvårdsrädsla uppstår hos individer.

This essay attempts to examine whether it is possible to find a mutual understanding of the concept of drive between Spinoza?s philosophy and Freud?s psychoanalytical theory. Former texts on this subject have given a variety of conclusions: from a radical separation between the two authors to a complete identification between the two. The drive, or the desire which is the term Spinoza uses, has in Spinoza?s philosophy its foundation in the concept of conatus.

Speech disorders are common in children with 22q11-deletion syndrome, but there is limited knowledge about speech in adults with this syndrome. The aim of this study is to describe speech and voice in adultswith 22q11-deletion syndrome, and compare the results with a control group.Ten adults between 19-49 years participated in each group. The study wasbased on the Swedish dysarthria assessment, Dysartribedömningen. Thetested abilities were respiration, phonation, oral motor function, velopharyngeal function, articulation, prosody and intelligibility. Communicative participation was examined as well.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how auditors are affected by quality controls and if audit practice changes because of quality controls. To fulfill the purpose of this study there has been interviews made with five auditors. The conclusion by this study is that the interviewed auditors work practices are affected by quality controls and that the extent and effect depends on the auditor and the office that the auditor works in. The auditors who worked as quality reviewers at the agencies where they are employed at, we felt that they were more secured in the response towards quality controls. This may be because they are quality reviewers themselves and they know what the quality control requires and what must be met to be approved.

This thesis focuses on information seeking and use by volunteers and employees in women?s organisations helping women who have been subject to violence. These organisations for example provide help and support, legal assistance and temporary shelter. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with five women working in Terrafem, which is a women?s organisation directed towards women with a non-Swedish background.

The purpose was to look into the pattern of consumption among middleage women. Our questions were how women experienced the need to consume, how they defined the expression of consumption and if there was a difference between "shopping" and "buying". The research has been done through eight qualitative interviews and searching in litterature, illuminating our questions.All women defined consumption as satisfying basic needs. According to them everything bought on a daily bases is consumption. More difficult to define was the experience of "need".

Introduktion: Gingivit förekommer hos en större del av befolkningen och kronisk parodontit förekommer hos upptill 40 % av alla vuxna i Sverige. Kunskapen om parodontala sjukdomar och vad de kan leda till är begränsad hos den svenska befolkningen. Den parodontala behandlingen delas in i icke-kirurgisk och kirurgisk infektionskontroll. Mätinstrumenten OHIP-14 och -49 är de mätinstrument som används oftast för att mäta livskvalité.Syfte: Att beskriva livskvalitén hos individer med kronisk parodontit.Frågeställningar: Hur upplever individer med kronisk parodontit sin livskvalité?Metod: En litteraturstudie.Resultat: I resultatet framkommer det att livskvaliteten hos personer med parodontit påverkas påtagligt.

Playfulness and curiosity in the usage of new technology and digital filmmaking has always been of great importance within these fields. There are many different media technologies that can form what the user wants to communicate in a certain context. One of these forms of expression that has increased in popularity from the early 20th century until today is the animation technique, Stop motion. Amateur filmmakers have also found an interest in using the technique. Our purpose has been to study the different aspects as to why young-adult amateur filmmakers have chosen stop motion as the way to express themselves.

Syfte: Att studera bakomliggande faktorer som påverkar hur den vuxna befolkningen upplever sin nuvarande och framtida orala hälsa. Material och metod: Uppsatsen består av en litteraturstudie vilken kombineras med analyser av delar av en enkätundersökning som genomfördes 2011 och omfattar Kalmar län och, i denna uppsats, specifikt Emmaboda och Kalmar kommuner. Resultat: Litteraturstudien resulterade i ett urval artiklar som berör bakomliggande faktorer relaterade till munhälsa. Analyserna av enkäten visade att Emmaboda i jämförelse med Kalmar hade en högre förekomst av faktorer som hypotetiskt kan påverka munhälsan negativt. Respondenterna i Emmaboda hade även en mer negativ uppfattning om sin munhälsa.

The aim of this study is, using the Swedish expression ?kulturtant? (cultured lady) as starting point, to understand how and why women consume the products of the culture industry more eagerly than men. The study is using the concepts put forward by Pierre Bourdieu; fields, capital and habitus. It is a qualitative study based on discussions in focus groups, interviews and material gathered through Google Alerts. In the literature this gap between the sexes with regard to the higher consumption on behalf of women has been referred to as the ?puzzle? of women´s cultural consumption.The empirical results show that the women in the study are well aware of what they want to gain by participating in cultural activities like reading, going to concerts, watching plays or going to the movies.

Det uppskattas att ca 2 barn av 1000 har autism (AST) i Sverige idag, vilket innebärgenomgripande störningar i utvecklingen. Barn som drabbas av denna störning har ofta ettstort hjälpbehov från sin omgivning och att som förälder få ett barn med denna diagnosinnebär stora förändringar i det dagliga livet. Syftet med denna studie var att beskrivaföräldrars erfarenheter och upplevelser av att leva med barn med autismspektrumtillstånd.För att besvara studiens syfte har en litteraturöversikt genomförts, där sammanlagt 9artiklar har analyserats. Vid analysen framkom 5 olika områden: outtaladansvarsfördelning, att känna sig isolerad, oro, stress och depression, strategier för att kunnahantera situationen och vikten av socialt och professionellt stöd. Det framkom av resultatetatt de föräldrar som lever med ett barn med AST upplever att de bär en tung börda som ärrelaterad till barnets problem och svårighetsgrad.

Since storytelling is a growing form of teaching we wanted to interview teachers to see what their experiences and opinions were on the subject. Therefore the purpose of this study is to use interviews to examine teacher perceptions and experiences about storytelling and its effect on language development. I will investigate both the use when the teacher is telling a story but also when students are telling stories. With help from my supervisor I was able to come up with interview questions that would help me answer my research question. After the interviews I reviewed the answers and analyzed them.
