Small companies have fewer resources which often result in an tendency to disregard  administrative tasks. A factor that influences the company?s revenues is the control of its inventories. The purpose of the current study was to analyze which of the two Options, leasing or owning your inventory, that could be justified from an economical perspective. Furthermore, the purpose was to describe the optimal inventory level for each Option. To meet these objectives representatives for the company was interviewed and a thorough investigation process was undertaken, during which methodological problems were solved.  It was found that leasing the inventory was the most expensive Option for the company. Analysis demonstrated that optimal turnover inventory according to EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) would amount to 65,0 thousand Swedish Krona if the company leases their inventory in comparison to 56,0 thousand Swedish Krona if the company owned their inventory.

The voltage regulation in Fortum Distributions medium voltage network in Stockholm does not work satisfactory. This results in too high distribution voltages with many customer complaints as a consequence. The reason is the model responsible for compensating for voltage drops in the distribution network. Despite several adjustments Fortum has not been able to find the source of the high voltages and has therefore appointed an investigation in the form of a thesis work.The aim of this investigation is to locate the error and to produce a proposal regarding the solution of this error using the existing system, common industrial knowledge, state of the art research and the Option to use voltage readings from the different substations.The conclusion of this master thesis is that the largest contribution to the high voltage levels is made by the large compensation for distribution loses. Furthermore an additional error in the model has been found.

Clinicians in veterinary practice have responsibilities for the development of global antibiotic resistance. In some cases, antibiotics are contraindicated or even useless in wound treatments and therefore other Options are needed. Antiseptics may be another Option but their use are controversial and may be questioned by owners. As professionals, it may be very difficult to be able to motivate this choice of treatment. The aim of this paper is to gain knowledge about four antiseptics; iodine, silver, polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) and honey to make it easier for veterinary nurses and other clinicians in veterinary practices to decide their potential use. The assessment will be made with consideration of the available evidence concerning the properties, usability and the animal?s experience. The results showed a lack of evidence in in-vivo studies in horses, particularly studies within the field of veterinary nursing.

The subject of this paper is the congestion tax in Stockholm, Sweden. The study has been conducted with the purpose to examine of how public attitudes towards congestion charging looks and the reason behind the attitude. And also to examine if there are any differences in attitudes between those living inside and outside the payment zones, between men and women and between car owners and those who do not own a car or have a driver's license. The study used a questionnaire sent out electronically to a group of friends of friends and of friends? family members.

This report treats whether it is viable to invest in solar heating to heat the therapy pool at Östersunds Rehabcentrum. The rehab center is owned by the county council of Jämtland and is located on Solliden in Östersund city. The solar heating where supposed to be a complement to the district heating that was heating the pool in the current situation. Later, it however showed that this was not the case. The pool is currently being heated by a radiator circuit that is being heated by the district heating.

Background: Bone anchored hearing system is a surgically implantable system for treatment ofindividuals with hearing loss. The Softband is intended for patients who can benefit from a boneanchored hearing system but who are not yet suitable for implant surgery.Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether an adhesive bone conductor, Adjoin, canbe used as an alternative to Softband.Material and Method: Twenty adult subjects with normal hearing participated in the study.Measurement of functional gain and speech intelligibility was performed with Softband and Adjoinwhich then were compared. A questionnaire was answered by the participants after the measurementsthat treated their subjective experiences with each Option.Results: The objective measurements yielded no overall difference between Softband and Adjoin forthe group studied. The subjective results showed differences in the perceived comfort as well as whichof the two bone conductors that would be preferred to use in everyday life, with Adjoin being thepreferred Option. No difference was detected on participants perceived gain, sound quality and speechintelligibility.Conclusion: Based on the measured results, Adjoin seems to be a suitable alternative to Softband.However, there are questions about how Adjoin works with long-term use..

As a part of Göteborg Energi?s work towards a smarter electric grid, the company has chosen to investigate the possibilities of automation in their middle voltage grid. In Europe, there are example cases where these technologies already are installed which many articles on the CIRED conference 2011 proved. Netcontrol Oy in Finland has, together with Tekla, created an automated SCADA system that Vattenfall in Finland today uses. The grid mainly consists of 10 kV open loop fed city grid and this automation is mainly designed for this type of grid.

The real estate company Ihus is facing an expansion of its comfort cooling in Noatun,Uppsala, to provide the buildings in the block with cooling. The buildings in Noatunare mainly used for office premises, where the requirements for an accepted indoorclimate is great. However, it?s uncertain whether Ihus should continue, as currently,producing comfort cooling by themselves using a compressor chiller, or if they shouldconnect themselves to Vattenfall?s district cooling net.The purpose of this report is to examine which technique of cooling is best suited forIhus and their buildings in Noatun. It should also work as a guideline for othercompanies facing the same problem as Ihus.

Likviditetsrisken mäts genom att studera skillnaden vid prisbildningen av aktiederivatets olika budsidor. I have chosen to study one change process in the home help service of the municipality of Bollnäs. The change process I have chosen to study is about changes in the day-to-day work for the employees at the home help service.

Background: Businesses are traditionally valued with the so called Discounted Cash Flow-model. When valuing newly-started businesses, surrounded by high uncertainty, and whose capital mostly consists of unrealized business opportunities, the Discounted Cash Flow-model needs to be complemented if the total value of the business is to be captured. A valuation with the help of real Options is capable of valuing these unrealized opportunities, which often exist in newly-started businesses. The unrealized opportunities are to be found in the business plan of the business, why this needs to be valued to capture the total value of a newly-started business. Purpose: To demonstrate what the use of real Options can result in when valuing businesses.

Det finns en mängd olika investeringsalternativ på marknaden, bland annat obligationer, aktier, fonder och derivat. Till kategorin derivat hör warranter och Optioner. Warranter kan ses som en lång Option och är ett relativt nytt instrument på marknaden. Handeln med warranter startade på den svenska marknaden 1995.

In this report I summarize the thesis, which is about to check what will happen if you decide to increase the interval between the a-checks, carried out on the Norwegian airline Widerøe. They want to know if an increase in time between the checks can give them an opportunity of increasing their aircraft fleet. In the current situation Widerøe has 11  Dash 8 Q400 and can consider a possible increase of 3 planes. This would be done without the need to increase accessibility of the hangars and increase in staff.What determines how often a check is performed is the maintenance tasks which has the shortest maintenance interval. On the Dash 8 the shortest interval is 600 flight hours.

Bakgrund: Fusioner har blivit en allt vanligare företeelse, inte minst bland svenska banker och försäkringsbolag. Varumärken är ett annat aktuellt område och starka varumärken anses vara en av företagens viktigaste tillgångar. Stora forskarinsatser har gjorts om dessa två områden men kunskapen om hur varumärken skall hanteras vid fusioner är fortfarande liten.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur den varumärkesproblematik som uppstår vid en fusion hanteras av svenska bank- och försäkringsföretag och utifrån detta ge en egen Option på hur denna hantering bör gå till.Genomförande: För att besvara syftet har vi utgått ifrån litteratur och genomfört intervjuer med sex svenska bank- och försäkringsföretag samt med tre varumärkeskonsulter och tre anställda vid reklambyråer. Utifrån dessa intervjuer och den befintliga litteraturen har vi gett en egen Option på hur varumärkeshanteringen vid fusioner bör bedrivas.Resultat: Vad företag måste göra innan en fusion är att se över om de kärnvärderingar som finns i respektive varumärke går att kombinera, samt om en lösning på varumärkeshantering som är acceptabel både för företagens anställda och kunder kan nås. Kan en acceptabel lösning på dessa frågor nås är en fusion möjlig.
