C-uppsatsen avhandlar överraskning, en av grundprinciperna för krigföring i den svenska operativa- och högre taktiska markstridsdoktrinen. Strävan med uppsatsen är att klarlägga de grundläggande faktorer som överraskningen kan sägas bestå av samt att skapa en modell av faktorernas inbördes förhållande och ömsesidiga beroende, syftande till att på ett avgörande sätt överraska motståndaren.Den empiriska undersökningen sker genom en analys av fem erkända militärteoretiker. De grundläggande faktorer för överraskning som framkommer efter analysen, prövas mot praktiska operativ verksamhet i en begränsad fallstudie. Faktorernas framtida giltighet hypotesprövas i en studie som utgår från två hypoteser om Dominant Battlespace Awareness.Avslutningsvis förs en diskussion om hur utbildningen av svenska officerare bör utvecklas för att på ett bättre sätt än idag, möjliggöra ett operativt agerande, syftande till att nå ett avgörande genom att utnyttja överraskning på taktisk nivå..

The process of value creation is rapidly shifting from a product- and firm-centric view to personalized consumer experience today. Informed, networked, empowered and active consumers are increasingly co-creating value with the firm. The interaction between the firm and the consumer as well as the experience factor plays an increasingly important role in determining the success of a company?s offering. In this study, a special type of co-creating experience is investigated - ?omstartspex? - where the audience is interacting with actors during the play.

To establish sustainability reports is an increasing trend for more and more companies. This has led to a spread of the international framework Global reporting initiative, GRI, guidelines to make a sustainability reports. This trend has got a lot of critics from various stakeholders who believe that companies in these reports communicate the information in a way of window dressing. Both negative and positive information has to be represented according to GRI: s principle of balance.  Window dressing is created by adding a greater emphasis on the positive information. The researchers review the context of the negative information to study the extent to which it is reported and whether there are patterns and variations in the reported information.

The aim of my master?s thesis has been to examine the situation of the price lists in the National Library of Sweden, in Uppsala University Library and in the Nordiska Museet Library. The starting point was that the institutes have been operating within different institutional practices. These operational differences between the institutes have affected the collecting, the organizing and the accessibility to the information of the price lists. My master?s thesis is based on Birger Hjørlands theories of domains and knowledge organization.

In todays competitive business climate the concept of ?quality management? is a significant part of daily work for many companies, as they want to achieve high performance quality and delivery success. Within the services sector third-party logistics companies play an increasingly central role when it comes to the goods that are being transported. These companies are presented with continuous challenges to ensure that goods are loaded on trucks efficiently and delivered on time, at the right place and in the right condition. The present case study was conducted in collaboration with Schenker AB and Schenker Åkeri in Jönköping, to help these two company branches serving under the same major corporation to solve a common problem they both encounter, namely the fact that it regularly occurs handling abnormalities in the terminal process that affects overall quality for customers.The study aims to find out how the daily quality control concerning the handling of goods in the terminal process can be improved hopefully resulting in a higher quality in cargo shipments.

Detta examensarbete handlar om en uppföljning av en enkätundersökning enligt EFQM modellen som genomförts vid BT Products. Uppföljningen består i en djupare analys av undersökningens resultat med fokus på vissa av dess delar. De områden som huvudsakligen behandlas är företagets medarbetare, processer och ledarskap. Tyngdpunkten ligger i att klargöra orsakssamband mellan enkätens olika områden samt att gå djupare in på- och identifiera samt beskriva starka och svaga sidor hos dem. Intervjuer, observationer och statistiska metoder har använts för detta syfte vilket resulterat i att det framkommit möjligheter att förbättra verksamheten i flera avseenden. De viktigaste förslagen till förändringar är: En förändrad organisationsmodell med fokus på värdekedjor Förändrade ansvarsförhållanden och tillhörigheter En långsiktig inriktning mot en styrmodell med utgångspunkt i värden och företagskultur.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka och synliggöra faktorer som kan påverka  dansmatteundervisnings relevans för elevers lärande i matematikämnet, detta i grundskolans tidigare år. Två kvalitativa insamlingsmetoder, i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer och observationer, har använts i undersökningen. Resultatet antyder att dansmatteundervisning kan vara relevant i och med att arbetssättet innebär en förståelseinriktad undervisning, där ett reflekterande arbetssätt med gemensamma samtal om matematiskt innehåll genomsyrar undervisningen. Att kommunikationen ökar, genom att både verbal och kinestetisk kommunikation samspelar i dansmatteundervisning, kan också bidra till att arbetssättet kan vara relevant. Pedagogens möjlighet till direkt återkoppling till elever anses som en styrka i dansmatteundervisning.

The purpose of this essay is to compare a theoretical strategic process model with the strategic work in a Swedish bank. The reason of the comparison was to identify which key success factors that is essential in strategic implementation processes. To make this study feasible three qualitative interviews were executed and it also presents data from a quantitative survey performed by the bank. The theory of the study examines eight different parts that needs to be looked at attentively when new strategies are formulated. The results points out that the work at large correspond, nevertheless the theoretical framework points out the importance of the business mission to impregnate the whole strategic process.

Aggression is a normal part of a dog?s behaviour repertoire and has always been an evolutionary relevant behaviour. Even if aggression in some contexts is relevant, it is one of the most common problem behaviour reported by dog owners. It has been discussed if some breeds are more likely to show aggression and therefore should be banned. On the 1st of January 2008 a new act was enforced by the Swedish government giving the police force greater authority in decisions to apprehend and euthanize dogs if they after an appropriate evaluation of the dog?s temperament think it is necessary.

Problem and purpose: The authors were interested in studying how large Swedish banks managed liquidity risks when facing the financial crisis of 2008 and whether the implementation of Basel II framework had an impact on the major Swedish banks' capital adequacy. Furthermore, the authors intend to examine how, based on the analysis of the implementation of Basel II, the introduction of Basel III will affect major Swedish banks' liquidity in the future.Method: The essay is written from a quantitative approach and has a deductive perspective. Data was collected from the annual reports of the selected banks to later use relevant theories to analyze the work.Theory: This part of the essay presents relevant theories, a detailed description of the Basel regulatory framework and its requirements, rules for capital adequacy and to relevant key to achieve the Basel regulatory requirements are considered. Furthermore the authors present criticism of the Basel framework and a summary of the key theoretical points to be used for analyzing empirical data.Empirical: In this chapter the data collected from selected banks is presented and processed.Conclusion: The essay authors present the deficiencies and weaknesses that make the Basel II regulatory framework inadequate for the Swedish financial market. This Masters thesis deals with query expansion in an online library catalogue. The aim of the study was to compare the retrieval effectiveness of four different query types when applied to the online library catalogue of the University College of Borås. The query types were: an initial query, the initial query with right hand truncation, the initial query expanded with synonyms and finally the initial query expanded with synonyms and right hand truncation. 24 topics were formulated, and four queries for each topic were constructed. The records retrieved by the searches were judged with regard to topicality, and were judged to be non-relevant, partially relevant or relevant.

However, amateur bloggers do have an importance in this discussion as they are more and more competing with the professionals.

This report summarizes a Bachelor Degree Project in Integrated Product Development,carried out during the spring semester in 2007 by three students at the Product Design Engineering programme at the University of Skövde. The project was performed as an assignment for KinBag ab, a sister subsidiary to Kinnegrip ab in Lidköping, who develop,manufacture and market the golf bag KinBag, a bag with an integrated wheel carriage system. The purpose of the project was to redesign the golf bag to attract a target group consisting of golfers aged between 20 and 40.The layout of the project was as follows: The project began with a feasibility study where different problems were identified with the basis of a market research which eventually was summarized in a dynamic specification of requirements. The feasibility study was followed by a generation of ideas which contained everything from sketches to simple mock-ups with an intensive amount of thoughtful brainwork and information gathering in between. This ledto the development of a number of design concepts, both on an overall level and on different parts of the golf bag.
