Primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey.Theoretical: The theoretical frame of reference is based upon the paper?s dependent variable, i.e. the role of the appraiser.

Syftet med studie var att undersöka om intensiv knäträning i grupp kunde förbättra rörlighet, funktion och styrka i knäet efter artroplastikoperationen i jämförelse med sedvanlig rehabilitation. Interventionsgruppen tränade 2 gånger/vecka i cirka 14 veckor i jämförelse med kontrollgruppen som fick rutinmässig träning via primärvårdens sjukgymnaster. Interventionen utvärderas med Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) och smärtskattning (Visuell Analog Skala) och funktionstest med modifierad Functional Assessment System (m- FAS), före operation och fyra månader efter operation. Resultaten visade att det fanns ingen signifikant skillnad mellan grupperna efter interventionen beträffande någon utvärderings parametrar. Resultatet visade en liten tendens (inte signifikant) för bättre rörlighet i knäet, mindre smärta och bättre funktion i det dagliga livet och bättre livskvalitet för interventionsgruppen.

This thesis is an attempt to study whether if problem-oriented teaching implies a moreadvanced use of school libraries than other teaching methods.Teachers have been interviewed about what kind of information they and their pupils need,and where they find their information. Another question is whether the problem-orientedteaching method makes it easier for the pupils to find information in school libraries thanother teaching methods do.The result of the study is that a problem-oriented teaching method creates opportunitiesfor the school library to become an important place for information retrieval. This teachingmethod is a major, but not the only determinal factor. Other contributing factors could beteamwork between teachers and school librarians and the existence of learning aids..

There are several objects of age whose provenance and history has disappeared with time. The purpose of this thesis is to find out which analyzing methods that gives results and how the different methods can be combined and /or established in each other. The investigations centers around an embroidery, belonging to Tämta church, with unknown origin, use and age. The embroidery is long and narrow with applications in the form of dragons and eagles on a ground of velvet cloth. The dragons and eagles are covered with metal threads.

High demands are set on all equipment used in emergency service work, where small margins can be the distinguishing factor between life and death during a rescue operation. It is important that tools such as ladders quickly and easily can be dismounted from a vehicle and still satisfy the regulatory requirements for securing loads during transport. The existing solution for getting ladders down from the roof of a fire engine requires a large manual effort from the user in an ergonomically unsound posture.In this degree project a new ladder holder is developed with focus on the user to solve the ergonomic problems and at the same time create a more compact design that can be adapted to several different types of ladders. After an initial pre-study with user-interviews and measurement of forces and distances a set of requirements was formulated that came to govern the project's direction. Creative methods were used to generate concepts that improved the function and through design solutions, calculations and testing in CAD a base for manufacturing of a new product was created.The result is a completely new type of ladder holder that minimizes the user's manual effort and simplifies the securing of ladders in the holder.

The purpose of this essay is to discuss and compare different ways of learning new words and expanding your vocabulary in a foreign language. This is done by an examination of relevant literature and available research, as well as by an empirical study with two upper secondary school classes, in which two different methods are put to the test: one traditional method of the kind that is found to be most common in second language acquisition, and one designed to take existing research into account. The results show that, although effective in the initial stages of acquisition, the traditional method, where words are learned in isolation and via translation to L1, results in a very limited form of knowledge. A big part of the words acquired via this method is also forgotten soon afterwards. The other method, where words were learned and tested in its proper context, was found to result in a broader form of vocabulary knowledge, covering more aspects, and that remained over time.

SAMMANFATTNING (svenska) Introduktion: I Sverige genomförs över 400 000 operationer årligen på inneliggande patienter. Tidigare forskning visar brister på hur patienters förväntade smärta och den upplevda smärtan upplevs i samband med öppen bukkirurgi. Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka samband mellan förväntad smärta och upplevd smärta samt upplevelser av smärtlindring vid öppen bukkirurgi. Metod: En pilotstudie med kvantitativ design som syftar till att beskriva och mäta variablerna förväntad smärta och upplevd smärta samt upplevelse av given smärtlindring. I pilotstudien deltar 12 patienter från två kirurgiska avdelningar.

AbstractThe purpose of this theses is to compare three different political groups, The IRA, The Baader-Meinhof group and the Al Qaida, who have all used terroristic methods to achieve their separate goals.By finding out about their history, goals, structures and methods I have made a comparison to see what joins them, what separates them, what originated the birth of their movements and how they can or could proceed with their violent actions to the point that they had actual impact on international politics.It has all been done through a litteraturebased study.My focuse has been on Al Qaida since it's is the only one of the three who is still active today and who, through its cellstructure, represents a new form of global terrorism that may have great influence on the structural patterns of other political groups and criminal organizations in the future.Key words:Al QaidaBaader-MeinhofIRATerrorismCellstructure.

Syftet med detta arbete var att beskriva operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser av risken med att utsättas för blodburen smitta. Sju intervjuer ggenomfördes med operationssjuksköterskor vid två sjukhus. De analyserades medelst manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys med ett kodningssystem baserat på ett induktivt arbetssätt. Analysen resulterade i fem kategorier: Att vara professionell, att förbereda sig mentalt, att för- och efterarbete är tidskrävande, att känna rädsla samt att det är svårt att följa rutiner. Resultatet visade att operationssjuksköterskors professionella förhållningssätt inte ändrades då patienterna bar på blodburen smitta.

Voltage sag indices are a way of quantifying the performance of the power supply, as far as voltage sags are concerned. Indices can be defined for individual events, for individual sites, and for a whole system. A standard method for single-event methods is part of IEC standard 61000-4-30.This thesis emphasizes the importance of voltage sag indices and different methods for calculating three-phase voltage sag characteristics. Three-phase events measured in a medium network voltage over period of one month were analyzed, results examined and statistically evaluated. An algorithm for calculating voltage sag characteristics and indices was created in Matlab.

Hemp is an ancient cultivated plant that came to Sweden in the 1st to 2nd Century and was particularly interesting for use for food, clothing and building materials. Over time, other applications have been developed for hemp, e.g. in energy and health products. Interesting new uses for hemp continue to be identified and this fascinating plant has incredibly versatile applications.In this project, seed production of industrial hemp in Sweden was studied and evaluated. Five different methods are described, four of which are proven under Swedish conditions.

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är idag en av de vanligaste cancersjukdomarna och som har ökat konstant de senaste två decennierna. Årligen insjuknar cirka 7000 kvinnor i bröstcancer vilket motsvarar ungefär 15-20 fall per dag. Lidande, välbefinnande, att ingå i en vårdrelation, kommunikation och information är begrepp som ingår i en människas livsvärld. Begreppen beskriver hur en människa upplever sin egen värld och på så sätt även hur unik den kan vara. Med livsvärld menas den värld vi lever i och ständigt är omgivna av. Syftet med studien var att belysa livsvärlden hos medelålders kvinnor med bröstcancer, från diagnos till operation.

This study concerns art education, and the importance of creativity in learning. The objective is to examine the use of art education in practice, and the school teacher?s position on this practice.The theoretical basis of the study is rooted in a socio-cultural perspective, and concerns the relationships between theoretical concepts as learning, knowledge and art education.The investigation is qualitative and the main research methods are participant observations and structured interviews.The group studied in this investigation consisted of five active educators, who work at different schools and make use of art-based methods in their daily work.My results show that teachers believe that art education can be used by schools as a gateway to the other subjects. Art is regarded as a form of understanding through which pupils explore their surroundings, challenge their ideas and build skills through interaction with others..

This report describes how the process has evolved during the creation of a new web page forthe company Scandinavian Travel Agent DMC. The design methods that have been used aredescribed and also how parts of the webpage have been created by using the design methodresults. Our reflections around design and functionality are explained and how usability hasbeen our main focus during the master thesis. We also describe how it has been to work withan external costumer and how the tasks constantly have changed and been added as theprocess has continued.The background to this work is that AB Scandinavian Travel Agent DMC need to improve theircurrent web page. This to give the clients better needed information about destinations, butalso to stand out in the competitive travel business.
