Snabbast vinner? : en studie om hur e-handelsföretag inom modebranschen arbetar med korta ledtider

PurposeThe purpose of this thesis is to provide a deeper understanding of how e-commercecompanies within the fashion industry are working with lead times and illustrate andanalyse differences and similarities between companies.Research question- In which ways are e-commerce companies within the fashion industry working withshort lead times?MethodologyThis thesis is based on a qualitative research method in order to achieve a greaterunderstanding of the chosen topic, of how the chosen companies are operating and toprovide room to our own interpretations and reflections. Interviews through telephonewere used to gather the empirical data from six different e-commerce companies withinthe fashion industry.ConclusionsAfter completing the theoretical and empirical analysis it can be concluded that leadtimes are considered essential for all of the participating companies but there is adifference in which way they look at, and how they work with lead times. Somecompanies stressed that short lead times are an important aspect of competition andclaimed that this is something they are constantly working with. For others the balanceand matching of supply and demand was the most important factor rather than toachieve short lead times.

Vårdpersonalens följsamhet till de basala hygienrutinera vid Akademiska Sjukhuset

Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Att följa de basala hygienrutinerna är den viktigaste åtgärden för att förhindra uppkomst av vårdrelaterade infektioner (VRI). Vårdpersonal måste arbeta för att förbättra och upprätthålla följsamheten för att minska risken att sprida VRI eftersom det ger onödigt lidande för patienten. Det leder till förlängda vårdtider, ökade samhällskostnader samt bidrar till en förhöjd mortalitet.Syftet: Syftet med studien var att undersöka om och hur väl de basala hygienrutinerna följs vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala. För att undersöka om det fanns någon skillnad mellan avdelningarna valdes en avdelning som deltagit i projektet ?vårdrelaterade infektioner ska stoppas- VRISS? på sjukhuset samt en avdelning som valt att avstå deltagande.Metod: En kvantitativ jämförande observationsstudie valdes som metod där vårdpersonal observerades utifrån en mall angående de basala hygienrutinerna.

Operationssjuksköterskors uppfattningar om det intraoperativa teamarbetet : En kvalitativ intervjustudie

Bakgrund: I en operationssal arbetar ett multiprofessionellt team. För att effektivt kunna bedöma och utvärdera kvaliteten på det intraoperativa teamarbetet, samt stärka patientsäkerheten, är det av stor betydelse att få en djupare förståelse för operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser kring begreppet teamarbete. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa operationssjuksköterskors uppfattningar om det intraoperativa teamarbetet. Metod: Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med 14 operationssjuksköterskor från två sjukhus i mellersta Norrland. Insamlad data analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Läslust : ett projekt för och med vuxna med läs- och skrivsvårigheter, ett samarbete mellan en lärare och en bibliotekarie

This thesis presents and evaluates a project, undertaken in 2001 by a librarian the writer of this thesis and a teacher. We met with a number of adults with reading and writing disabilities, and presented and discussed books and experiences of reading, with the aim to increase their joy of reading, as well as finding out more about our own ways of co-operating with each other across our professional borders. The documentation and evaluation emphasizes on the process and the results of the project, and on our own participation, by asking the following questions: How did we carry out the project? What obstacles did we meet? What went well/wrong? What did we achieve related to our goals? In order to illuminate the project from different angles, consequences of reading and writing disabilities for adults are discussed, as well as the specific nature of adult education and projects more or less related to ours. Action research is chosen as a method, because it allows the process of the project, and our own learning process, to be exposed.

Bärarskap av meticillinresistent Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) hos svenska hundar :

During the last years, meticillin resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) have caused an increasing number of infections in Swedish dogs. MRSP is resistant against a majority of the antimicrobials available for dogs in Sweden, making it difficult to treat the infection. Our knowledge of the bacterium is limited, making it hard to handle infected dogs in a proper way. The aim of this study was to investigate for how long time dogs, who have an infection caused by MRSP, become carriers of the bacterium. Other factors like treatment with antimicrobials, the correlation between clinical symptoms and carriage, common diagnoses and institutionalization where also looked upon.

Ett tjänstedesignprojekt för bättre handhygien i vården : "Att göra en Albin"

Detta projekt har varit ett första försök för studenten att använda sig av tjänstedesign i ett verkligt projekt. Problemet har varit att i sjukvården idag finns stora problem med att bakterier och virus som vinterkräksjukan slår ut hela avdelningar som tvingas stänga till stora kostnader. Vinterkräksjukan a?r högst smittsamt och det räcker med att någon glömmer tvätta händerna ordentligt fo?r att det ska sprida sig på en avdelning.I detta arbete har tjänstedesign metodik använts för ta reda på varför det förekommer smitta på ortopedkliniken på Centralsjukhuset i Karlstad och vad som kan göras för att förbättra handhygienen och minska risken för smittspridning på ortopedkliniken.Observationer genomfördes på kliniken ur patienters, sjuksköterskors samt läkares perspektiv. Tjänstedesignmetoder som customer journeys och desktop walkthrough användes fo?r att visualisera patienters resor genom kliniken och skapa lösningar ihop med läkare och sjuksköterskor fo?r att skapa möjligheter till bättre handhygien.Resultatet blev ett koncept som ökar synligheten av de handspritstationer som finns samt ett förslag på hur dessa stationer ska placeras ut på kliniken fo?r att ge bästa lättillgänglighet för sjukhuspersonal, patienter och besökare.Namnet ?Att göra en Albin? myntades efter att en fältstudie genomförts på ortopedkliniken utav en av projektets kontaktpersoner pa? landstinget i Värmland.Litteraturstudier gjordes också på hur tjänstedesign använts i vårdutveckling, både nationellt och internationellt, och hur tjänstedesign kan bidra till en bättre vård.Uppdragsgivare har varit Tomas Edman på Innovationsslussen Vivan.Arbetet har gjorts i kursen Examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i Innovationsteknik och design (MSGC12) på Karlstads universitet.

The everyday work at a staffing agency and how its leaders deal with the problems that appears: A case study at Maxkompetens.The purpose of this paper is to increase the understanding of how leaders at a staffing company deal with the everyday problems that arise from a geographically dispersed workforce.The staffing industry has grown by 30-40 percent annually and has over the past 15 years been the fastest growing industry in Sweden. This shows that the interest and demand for the staffing industry and its activities are now rising at an increasingly faster pace. This is an industry that is operating under specific conditions and with a geographically dispersed workforce. This will make the leaders of a staffing company to an important link between the staffing leaders and the staffing personnel.The relationship between the staffing company's leaders and its personnel is important, but not completely trouble free. Difficulties arise in that the employees may be located in different places and at various client companies with the result that the leaders of the staffing company cannot have a daily personal contact with their geographically dispersed personnel.We have used a qualitative approach on our paper and our empirical methodology has been a case study with ethnography and interviews.

Implementation of a quality management system in food production

The aim of this study was to investigate how the process of implementing a quality management system for food safety was handled in four different food producing companies in Sweden. The aim was also to analyze what difficulties the companies face and the possibilities that arise when certified. Furthermore, the reason for implementation was discussed as well as the main expectations on the certificate. Implementing a quality management system is a good way of ensuring the quality and hygiene of the food production and it also increases the traceability of food products through the whole food chain. A food safety standard provides a method of preventing problems and crisis and it can also help to handle requirements from authorities, the market and others.

Partnerval i joint ventures på den svenska 3G-marknaden En studie av de svenska nätoperatörerna

Background: Traditionally defined boundaries and borders between organizations are at present being re-evaluated because of new and tougher demands. Today we can see a trend where these boundaries are being lowered or even eliminated when organizations choose to co-operate instead of compete. Purpose: In order to create an understanding for the partner selection process in the newly founded joint ventures between the companies which are building the Swedish 3G Network, the determining factors are being studied. Delimitation: The studies companies are co-operating as network operators but are at the same time competing as mobile operators. This relationship is in the literature described as co-opetition, which will not be investigated in this paper.

Finansiell psykologi : En empirisk studie av olika faktorers påverkan inom finansbranschen

Investors have been shown to be driven by emotional and psychological factors. This contradicts classical financial theories, for example the Efficient Market hypothesis which states that all investors act rationally. Behavioural Finance is an area of study which describes various psychological factors which may result in irrational investor behaviour.The primary question of the study is: which factors do operating people in the financial sector consider themselves to be influenced by? The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors which affect the process of creating forecasts or making financial decisions. The study examines in addition if there is a correlation between length of investor experience and overconfidence in forecasting accuracy and investment decision making.The study includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Personalnedskärningar och aktiepriser : En eventstudie av sambandet mellan personalnedskärningar och aktiepriser under perioden 2008-2012

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether abnormal stock returns could be identified as a result of a layoff announcement during weak economy.Method: An event study methodology.Theory: Efficient market hypothesis, signal theory.Empirical results: Quantitative data from observations of stock prices in thirty two companies listed on the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, in the period 2008 -2012.Conclusion: The results indicate that the market reaction was negative because there were negative abnormal returns on the Stockholm Stock Exchange during the period 2008-2012 in connection with the layoff announcements. The market reaction was milder when staff reductions were carried out as a result of a restructuring and stronger when staff reductions were carried out as part of a cost reduction program.The layoff announcements elicited different market reactions depending on the company's industry affiliation. The most negative reaction was in the Healthcare industry. Negative abnormal returns were lower in industries Industrials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods. There were no abnormal returns for shares of companies in the industry Financials.

Hur arbetar chefer med att förbättra hygienrutiner? : En kvalitativ studiepå ett sjukhus i Stockholm

Bakgrund: Årligen drabbas miljoner patienter världen över av vårdrelaterade infektioner, vilket representerar ett folkhälsoproblem och ett hotmot patientsäkerheten. Enligt WHO måste varje land därför vidta och fokusera på åtgärder som att förbättra hygienrutiner hos vårdpersonalen, för att minska andelen vårdrelaterade infektioner.Syfte: Att få insyn, förståelse och fördjupad kunskap i hur chefer på ett akutsjukhus i Stockholm arbetar för patientsäkerhet genom följsamhet till hand-, kläd-och hygienrutiner. Hur upplevsföljsamhet till hygienrutinerna vara, ses svårigheter, hur ser praxis för ansvar och uppföljning av följsamheten till hygienrutinernaut?Målet är att kunna ge förslag och inspiration till hur följsamhet till hygienrutiner kan optimeras på det sjukhus där studien utförts, även som inspiration till andra vårdgivare.Metod: 41 chefer på olika nivåer intervjuades. Kvalitativ forskningsansats valdes och manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys användes som analysmetod.Resultat: Chefer upplever att följsamheten till hygienrutiner generellt är god, men kan skilja sig åt mellan yrkeskategorier.

Följsamhet ? ej förhandlingsbart! Om följsamhet till hygienrutiner som avgörande för patientsäkerhet

Introduktion: Vårdrelaterade infektioner (VRI) utgör ett omfattande problem. Omkring en tredjedel av alla VRI anges möjliga att förhindra och lösningen består i hygienrutiner. Undersökningar visade att följsamheten till dessa var långtifrån tillfredsställande. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att klargöra några tänkbara smittvägar och identifiera faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans följsamhet till hygienrutiner samt se effekter av försök att öka följsamheten. Metod: Resultaten baseras på 17 vetenskapliga artiklar.

Vakuumbrytare i småskaliga vattenkraftstationer

This master thesis has been performed at Vattenfall Power Consultant in Gothenburg and Trollhättan for Vattenfall Vattenkraft. In this report vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations with the rated power 4 MVA and below has been studied. Models of the stations are modeled and analyzed in PSCAD/EMTDC to study the high voltage transients that are created after current chopping with vacuum circuit breaker. Vacuum circuit breaker may chop the current before it reaches zero value, which means that high voltage transients can be created. The equipment of the stations can be destroyed by high voltage transients.The purpose of this thesis is to examine the use of vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations and the risk for high voltage transients from current chopping.According to the results there is a risk of high voltage transients after current chopping with small synchronous generators in stations with the operating voltages 0.4 kV and 3.6 kV.
