The scope of this master´s thesis is the issue of usability in relation to interface design,in particular the interface of a university library´s online public accessed catalogue, orOPAC. Since the OPAC can be seen as the library´s ?shop window? to the world, it isof great importance that the interface to the OPAC can be used by patrons witheffectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.The master´s thesis is based on a qualitative study performed at Karolinska InstitutetsUniversity library, and contains both a usability evaluation and an interview study. Twointerfaces were evaluated: a standard web interface provided by the system supplier, andan interface developed in-house by Karolinska Institutet´s systems department. This project was about the creation of a shorter computer animated film. Thegoal of the project was to explore a different technique of the visual outcomethat should not rely on photorealistic rendering and how to find new interestingways to use 3d-graphic for visuals. A big part of the project was also toincorporate music to create a chosen atmosphere and impact on the viewer butalso to help the story forward and questions such as; ?How can you create anexpression for the feeling you want to transmit?? were formulated. The scenewas built up in a 3d-application consisting of a house and surrounding garden,which within an character was animated to tell the plot.

Outsourcing in IS/IT offers organizations the possibility to use external resources, maximize flexibility and focus on core business, this prompts many organizations today to be less keen on developing IS/IT-services in-house. Sourcing IS/IT is however a complex activity in itself thus requiring competencies in many areas of expertise and lots of organizations has experienced the challenge of managing the necessary competencies to ensure successful Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO). A literature review in the field of outsourcing revealed the lack of a comprehensive competency management framework with the ability to guide competency resource planning in ITO projects. In order to highlight the problem area, an extensive and thorough literature review and an empirical case study which investigated the skills and assets in ITO projects at ten major Swedish organizations was conducted. The study found that it is possible for organizations through structured analysis of their intellectual capital, using the competency framework developed within the study, to plan sourcing processes and prepare the necessary changes to ensure the ITO projects can be implemented with the desired effect..

The aim of this study is to learn about the nineteenth century poor relief system, how itoperated in the rural parish Kristdala during the period 1881-1890, and not least, who was thesupported person? The poor are defined as the individuals that received public poor relief, but in onechapter this definition of poverty is contrasted with a definition based upon tax exemption:inability to pay taxes. Two villages have been selected for intensive study, namely Kroxhult and Calerum, and Calerum is the smaller one. The connection between age and the poverty ratio is clear, and tobe a lodger was especially disadvantageous with respect to poverty. The aim of this thesis has been to study the development of Ordfront förlag from their foundation in 1969 until today, concerning their publishing profile and their size. Ordfront started out as a small publishing house and is today one of the few middle sized publishing houses in Sweden. Their books focus on questions concerning society, debate and politics. The question posed in this thesis was: What has influenced Ordfront förlag concerning size and publishing profile? In order to answer our question we have used a system analytic method, in which we examined some external and internal elements.

This paper is an account of the work around the arrangement and registration of the archive of the Swedish Art-ists? Association?s archive. The Swedish Artists? Association is an association of artists that both makes exhibi-tions for their members? works and handles the Artists? House, called Konstnärshuset in Swedish. During the work with the archive the author faced a number of challenges and problems.

The background for my thesis is the fact that with rising electricity and oil prices it becomes interesting to calculate on alternative heating systems. I have chosen to calculate upon my parents? farm, which today heats the dwelling house with wood. This is very time-consuming work, time which could be spent on other work. The main objective for this study is to compare three different heating systems to decide how they differ considering effort and cost. The result from the calculations was that grain-heating system demanded the least amount of work, but the total cost was a little higher compared to chips heating. Chips heating required half as much work as today?s wood heating and had a little lower total costs compared with the corn heating. Which system to choose largely depends on how the own work is valued.

Approximately 400 people in Sweden die each year by lung cancer caused by radon gas. Authorities have in recent years invested big resources and organized campaigns to encourage people to take action against high occurrence of radon in residences. With low frequency of applications for radon allowances as the main measure, a lot interprets on a very low commitment. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the reasons for the low commitment among people. The study is based on a questionnaire survey sent to 444 house owners in Uppsala.

The aim is to design a module for living which is flexible in a bigger context, which could condens the city and to answer the questions: How is it possible to make a livingmodule where the compact living theme works in an everyday situation? How is it possible to make one module which is able to function in several different situations? The process in solving problem has been characterized of trial and error: design a module and learn from the mistakes and take the knowledge to the next module. This is the way I have worked until I found a good solution. As a result I can show an efficient module which has several nice values of space and that is flexible and to some part adjust for a disabled person. It can on several ways condens the city.

This thesis presents a comparative study of image registration at two picture collection libraries. The two registration systems are analyzed as to the theoretical principles behind them and their practical application, and related to theoretical tools for subject analysis and bibliographic standards. While a growing number of picture collections now digitize their material, generally accepted standards and methods for the registration of digital images are still lacking. Many different systems coexist, often developed in-house in response to ad hoc needs and based on traditional registration tools created for textual documents, resulting in internationally incompatible mixed-format systems. The two picture collections examined here, however, have opted for similar, standardized tools for registration and subject analysis, and while there are differences in their application and focus, they have both considered issues of cross-system compatibility.

Syftet med denna studie var att ge en djupare inblick i pedagogiska tanketraditioner och med ett musikpedagogiskt kunskapsintresse undersöka vilka intentioner och konventioner som låg till grund för kommunikation av musikaliska kunskaper i historiska manualer. Förord ur fyra manualer från två olika århundraden studerades; en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1500-talet och en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1700-talet. Manualerna var Silvestro Ganassis Opera intitulata Fontegara från 1535, Thomas Morleys A Plaine and Easie Introduction to Practicall Musicke från 1597, Johann Joseph Fux Gradus ad Parnassum från 1725 samt Johann Joachim Quantz Versuch einer Anweisung die Flöte traversiere zu spielen från 1752. Med en kombinerad metod analyserades förorden i tre nivåer för att se hur musikaliska kunskaper kommunicerades dels på ett individuellt plan, dels på ett mer socialt orienterat plan. Studiens teoretiska ansats utgjordes av ett övergripande kulturpsykologiskt perspektiv, vilket gav möjlighet att vetenskapligt belysa relationen mellan individer och traditioner och därmed också förbinda studien med dagens musikpedagogiska praktik.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att utreda vilken inverkan genusstrukturer har på de konstnärliga valen hos en skådespelare samt hur skådespelare talar om genus i förhållande till sitt yrke. Begreppen genus och konstnärliga val behandlas och diskuteras för att klargöra vad som ska läsas in i begreppen vid slutdiskussionen.I det förberedande arbetet har jag gått igenom några genusforskares forskningsarbeten om genusstrukturer. Framför allt har jag valt att framlägga genusforskare som i sina arbeten beskriver genus som performativt och språket och talet som konstituerande för det sociala könet. Skälet till urvalet av forskare är att kunna göra jämförelser med hur språket och talet hos en skådespelare och dess medarbetare formar skådespelarens gestaltningsval, på ett både medvetet och omedvetet plan. Därtill har jag gått igenom Malmö operas jämställdhetsplan för 2013-2015 och HSMs likabehandlingsplan från 2012 och hur policydokument som dessa möter skådespelarnas och studenternas behov av formella och teoretiska jämställdhetsverktyg.Jag har intervjuat fyra skådespelare på Malmö opera och ställt frågor kring genus och olika skeden i repetitionsprocessen.
