The purpose of this study is to examine which aspects of blogs and blog design that are important to blog readers but also to find new ideas for blog design. From a qualitative standpoint we have examined how seven users experience that blogs design, structure and functionalities affects the general experience of the blog. The study also examines how the users wish to interact with a blog. During two design workshops we let seven active blog readers imagine and sketch out the design and functionalities they would like in a blog. We put this in relation to theories about the anatomy of blogs, methods of design, social navigation and virtual communities.The major finding is that the aspects most important to blog readers are navigation, structure and social interaction.

På lång sikt är en ekonomisk tillväxt driven av teknologiska förändringar samt innovationer. Teknologin har gett oss möjligheten att bli innovativa genom helt andra vägar, där fler samarbeten sker över gränser. Open Innovation är ett fenomen som bygger på öppet samarbete mellan organisationer och externa aktörer. Mer transparens och öppenhet för externa kunskaper kan generera nya värden och bidra till den interna utvecklingen. Förekommande exempel på detta sorts samarbete är många, där syftet kan vara att tillsammans skapa nya produkter och eller utveckla nya marknadsföringsvägar.

Ett entitetssystem är ett sätt att hantera entiteter i ett spel och är ett relativt nytt och outforskat område. Syftet med det här arbetet är att utvärdera två olika entitetssystem, en aggregationsbaserad design och en dataorienterad design samt bidra med hur en dataorienterad design kan se ut och realiseras. Entitetssystemen implementeras i programmeringsspråket C++ tillsammans med ett exempelspel som används för att utvärdera entitetssystemen. Entitetsystemens effektivitet uppmäts i uppdaterade entiteter per sekund och antalet cachemissar per sekund genom ett experiment med exempelspelet. Det dataorienterade entitetssystemet visar på mindre cachemissar och fler uppdaterade entiteter per sekund när det totala antalet entiteter och antalet entiteter som dör per sekund varieras.

AbstraktRöntgen är ett område där man ställer frågan om processen skulle kunna automatiseras för att göra den enklare för sjuksköterskor. På så sätt ökar antalet patienter som kan röntgas eftersom det skulle gå snabbare. Med hjälp av datorseende och en servostyrd röntgenkamera kan man förverkliga delar av dessa drömmar genom att låta röntgenkameran själv justera sig efter en patient och även flyttas till en vald kroppsdel.Här undersöks och testas open-source biblioteket OpenCV. En prototyp på ett automatiskt system tas fram med syftet att testa OpenCVs funktionalitet och besvara ett antal frågor:Hur kan röntgen automatiseras genom användning av open-source programvarubibliotek med inriktning på bildbehandling?Vilka för ? och nackdelar kan användandet av ett datorseendebibliotek vara?Kan man med dagens teknik utveckla en automatisk lösning som kan göras till en kommersiell produkt?.

Drawing on earlier research, and using observations as the method, this study presents a design of a nature playscape for children. Applying outdoor pedagogy to the fundamental structure of a specific location, the study proposes a design of a playscape, over a more obvious design, for instance one based around a quiz walk.The theoretical framework is Gibson?s theory of affordance, and the goal has been to create a "play flow". The overall goal of this diploma work is to produce a design of a 5 GHz radio frontend using Agilent Advanced Design System (ADS) and then build a working prototype. Using this prototype to determine if RF circuits at 5 GHz can be successfully produced using distributed components on a laminate substrate. The design process for the radio front-end consists of two stages. In the first stage the distributed components are designed and simulated, and in the second stage all components are merged into a PCB. This PCB is then manufactured and assembled.

This paper reports a study on the usability of e-commerce accessed through smartphones. There is much research in the usability of mobile interfaces and many sets of design patterns have been created but a few studies are available for specific domains, and in this report we focus on mobile e-commerce. In this study a framework is developed for how to design mobile e-commerce interfaces with a high degree of usability. Furthermore, the study also contributes a method to how other specific domain can develop a framework with general standards to work from when creating a web interface. By examining two sets of design principles and 14 design patterns, we evaluate which ones are critical in the design of a mobile e-commerce interface for achieving a high degree of usability.

Jag har i mitt examensarbete skapat ett cykelmärke. Syftet har varit att fördjupa mig i grafisk design och skapa en komplett grafisk profil till ett företag och samtidigt att lära mig mer om hur man skapar en varumärkesidentitet. Det konkreta målet var att ta fram tillräckligt mycket material för att cykelmärket, komet, ska kunna lanseras på riktigt. Alltså ett identitetsprogram med grafisk profil, en provcykel, kommunikationsmaterial, en hemsida, en katalog, ett event etc..

Water constructions - as a design element in public spaces is the title of this Master thesis, with a focus on waters function and meaning in the urban environment. By way of introduction, mans relationship to places is described and the factors that contribute to the reality that we prefer some places more than others. A good place to stay is open but well defined, gives protection, offers a good view and is varying in topography and vegetation, together with contents of single landscape elements like visible water. This study then continues to discuss mans relationship to water and its means for our wellbeing. Despite the fact that people have a different relations to water due to personality, background and age, it?s an element that raises positive feelings, interest and aesthetic pleasure for most people.

Arbetsförmedlingen is the Swedish national authority responsible for the work politics, and its main purpose is to create and build a solid and sustainable job market.Economic crises together with changes in the society and in the organization over the past few years mean that the unemployed individuals that come in contact with Arbetsförmedlingen are no longer a homogenous group. A lot of effort is put into helping those who may find it difficult to enter the work environment, such as youths (19 ? 26 years old), people who have been unemployed or on sick leave for a long period of time, people with disabilities or immigrants who are newly arrived in Sweden.A harder social and economic climate can lead to frustration among the unemployed which mean that security measures at the offices has had to become adjusted. Local offices now have a public area where they have meetings with their clients and a locked open plan office space to which the public have no access. Working within an open plan office environment can cause health problems, mostly due to the constant background noise that comes from people having conversations on the phone, or with each other.

Universal Design is a well established methodology with the fundamental purpose of designing products to be usable for as wide audience as possible, without the need of special adjustment to suit the individual. In this essay, Universal Design has had a clear influence in both the process and the result. Projektet har gjorts för företaget Björn Borg med inriktning mot design management och designstrategi. Arbetet delades upp i två delar, under den första delen genomfördes research på såväl Björn Borg som på ämnena design management och designstrategi, i form av litteraturstudier, intervjuer och observationer. Detta ledde till att ett problemområde identiferades och att en ny produktutvecklingsprocess utvecklades genom designstrategiskt tänkande. Den andra delen behandlade hur två exempel- produkter utvecklades genom den framtagna processen för företaget. Slutsatsen blev att den nya processen skapar ett mer förankrat designarbete hos företaget som kommer att ge ett mer fokuserat uttryck på marknaden..

The main goal with this work is to find out how preschool teachers take care of children?s joy of movement and how they work to promote children?s progress of motor activity.

Denna studie tacklar ett av de problem som modern IP-telefoni brottas med, som gör att det är svårare att konkurrera med traditionell telefoni: fördröjningar på grund av otillräckliga Session Initiation Protocol-servrar (SIP). Genom tester av de viktigaste faktorerna jämförs fyra högaktuella Open Source SIP-servrar: OpenSIPS, Kamailio, FreeSWITCH och Yate. Avsikten är att underlätta valet av SIP-server för nya applikationer inom IP-telefoni, öka prestandan samt snabba på utvecklingen. Studien behandlar de intressantaste faktorerna vid val SIP, såsom användarvänlighet, hastighet, lagring av användardata samt ljudkvalité. Slutsatsen blev att Kamailio stod som klar segrare, med överlägsna resultat i jämförelse med övriga servrar, på de parametrar som valts ut.
