The purpose of this study is to examine young peoples' perception of their media criticial competence in relation to digital news. The study is based on quantitative research interviews with young people (15-17 years) and qualitative interviews with people in the same age group as well as teachers and international media professionals.This study's theoretical point of departure is McQuail´s observation that peoples' values and views to a great extent are influenced by the media. Another source of theoretical inspiration was Haberman's ideas about how a diversity of views and arguments increase the citizens' ability to reflect critically on social developments - maybe even more so than in societies with  independent media and "neutral" news.The study shows that the young generation of web based news consumers assumes that it is very important to be an aware and critical consumer but also that they do not feel sufficiently equipped with the right tools required to understand the long-term impact and effect of the media reporting online. Young people basically seemed to acquire their knowledge about media by doing and learning on their own. Surprisingly, according to the young people that were interviewed for this project, the schools seemed to play a secondary role in the development of their media critical capacity.

Every year the Swedish gambling monopoly serves as a significant source of income for the government. This income is later distributed by the government on various areas for the common good. The question is wheather the state is allowed to preserve this lucrativemarket for itself by any means necessary. Also is it enough to claim that the monopoly exists to protect the citizens, and thus escaping the conditions of EC-law, and its struggle to harmonize trade between the member states? This thesis describes the Swedish gambling monopoly and its relationship with EC-law.

The purpose of this essay is to describe and analyze the debate surrounding the construction of the 2011 years curriculum of the Swedish schools` religious studies. The debate is concerning whether or not Christianity should have a unique position in the curriculum against other religions. The method is to analyze the arguments by an argument analysis. The purpose is also to analyze the argumentation to see how secularization and pluralism have influenced the debate and the different standpoints. The essays material consists of debate articles from the four largest news sites on the internet.The most common argument for Christianity?s unique position is that Christianity has had an important role in the development of the Swedish society, culture and literature and is therefore important knowledge for understanding the Swedish society.

Internetanvändande är idag vardag för många barn och unga. Barnen är medlemmar på och använder communitys, de chattar och skickar mail till varandra samt använder snabbmeddelandeklienter såsom msn. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur 41 stycken tolvåringar på en skola belägen i en mindre ort i Skåne använder internet, både hemma och i skolan samt att ta reda på hur skolan använder internet i undervisningen och vilken information skolan har gett tolvåringarna om internet. För att få svar på dessa frågor gjordes enkäter med 41 stycken tolvåringar samt intervjuer med deras lärare och rektor. I enkätundersökningen framgår det att en övervägande del av tolvåringar både har dator och internet hemma samt att många av dessa surfar helt själv.

Sammanfattning Syftet med studien var att beskriva anhörigas upplevelser av att leva tillsammans med eller i närheten av en person som har drabbats av Alzheimers sjukdom. Studien utgick från ett socialt, fysiskt och psykiskt perspektiv. Studien byggde på 18 vetenskapliga artiklar som kvalitet granskades med hjälp av en granskningsmall. Artiklar söktes genom databaserna Academic Search Elite, Cinahl och Vård I Norden Online. Urvalskriterierna var att artiklarna svarade på studiens syfte, var skrivna på svenska eller engelska och publicerade mellan åren 2000 till 2008.

The aim for this master thesis is to create an understanding of the intersubjective processes of how individuals are experimenting with their identities in social media and the consequences for the identity and embodiment. The thesis is completed with the help of discourse analysis and a starting point in four complementary theories. Central to the implementation of the analysis is the concept of diffraction. Therefore the thesis is, which is reflected in the choice of theoretical approaches and methods, critical to many aspects of classical philosophy of science and method. The empirical material is based on interviews.

This report of 10 credits is a C ? level essay in informatics.The report presents the result of our investigation. The purpose is to answer our problem statements:?How does computer-based graphical pedagogical tools work compared to traditional teaching aids? What is the users view upon the content? Does the structure work better than the traditional website design??Infact is a system that has as its primary goal to present information in a pedagogical way to let users of all ages and sexes learn from the contents. The information shown on the web page www.forskning.se is about Swedish and international research and the sites primary target users are high school students.In our investigation we asked a total of sixteen students divided into three groups a number of questions where after we started a discussion that we hoped would yield some answers about Infact and the homepage in general.Our main conclusion is that Infact is a good tool to use side by side with the textbooks and the traditional teaching aids.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att diskutera och redogöra för hur religionslärare och läromedelsförlag resonerar kring religionskunskapslärobokens koppling till digital informationsteknik. Genom intervjuer med lärare och läromedelsförlag ville jag ta reda på om det finns en efterfrågan av en lärobok med koppling till digital informationsteknik, vilka funktioner de skulle vilja ha i ett sådant läromedel och vilken funktion det beskrivs få i undervisningen. Resultaten visar att det finns en efterfrågan av läromedel med koppling till digital informationsteknik även om olika grupper av lärare efterfrågar olika saker precis som de förhåller sig olika till teknik och läroboken. Resultaten bekräftar teorin om att ny teknik i skolan leder till en evolution snarare än en revolution då lärarna främst vill kunna använda tekniken till det de redan gör idag. Detta blir en svårighet för förlagen då satsningar på digitala funktioner inte tilltalar den grupp av lärare som använder läroboken mest idag och den grupp av lärare som efterfrågar mer digitala funktioner bara ser läroboken som en i mängden av läromedel och antagligen inte kommer att använda den mer trots nya funktioner..

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to identify the relationship between color and semiotics and how a person?s opinon, regarding a game character?s different characteristics, can be affected by the use of various colors. Prior to this study people were asked, through an online survey, to write down words that they associated with different colors. The colors were then divided into four different groups depending on whether they had been associated with positive-strong words, positive-weak words, negative-strong words or negative-weak words. In order to further shed light on the effect of colors, the four palettes, consisting of the colors associated with the different words, were then used separately to give color to two characters: a man and a woman.

The thesis explores what is meant by multiculturalism in today's Sweden based on burial grounds and funerals in a minor municipality. This is done through an ethnographic case study of the municipality of Vara. The study aims to investigate how multiculturalism looks and is responded to. The study maps which aspects are placed on multiculturalism in a minor municipality and which adaptations and compromises are highlighted. This is done within the framework of theories concerning multiculturalism and social identity, and the result of the empirical case study is presented by applying the theories to the material. From burial places and funerals, social collective and individual identities are analysed based on the social categories of religion/faith/secularity and place belonging, based on the perspectives of rituals and traditions as well as the location of the grave. The study finds that there are several aspects of multiculture in the burial grounds, as multiculture not only includes cultural influences from immigrants but also the different preferences of the local villages, in combination with the development of society, and Sweden in general.

En enkätundersökning publicerades online för att svara på det. Enkätundersökningen bestod av 41 frågor och hade en inledande del om respondentens bakgrund inom hästsporten, allmänt om hållning av häst och en del andra rutiner utöver frågorna om täckning och klippning. Täckningsfrågorna tog upp vid vilka årstider och väderförhållanden hästar täckas. Frågorna behandlade också på vilket sätt och vid vilka årstider hästar klipps samt orsaker till att täcka och klippa.

Syftet med denna studie är att via tre kvalitativa intervjuer undersöka gränsdragningen mellan privat och offentlig sfär på Internet ur ett socialpsykologiskt perspektiv. The purpose of this study was to examine two relatively similar product industries, of which one is successful in its commercialization and the other one is not successful. The two industries observed in this paper are both Swedish industries, and both of them produce slow moving consumer goods for the luxury consumer. The successful industry is represented by the Swedish fashion industry, more precisely The Swedish Fashion Wonder (TSFW) - a term describing the success of a specific coalition of fashion designers from Sweden. The unsuccessful industry is represented by the luxury watch industry in Sweden (LWIS). The method used to examine the two industries' inequalities is based on a qualitative study, consisting of in-depth interviews with industry expertise from both of the industries.

Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) is a significant vector-borne zoonotic pathogen, causing devastating encephalitis in humans. Its geographical range includes a majority of Asian countries and has also been recognized in some western Pacific areas. The main vectors of JEV are mosquitoes belonging to the genus Culex. Birds and pigs function as hosts and virus amplifiers, whereas humans are accidental hosts. Japanese encephalitis is commonly regarded as a rural disease.

Denna studie undersöker om det finns faktorer inom optikbranschen som, samt hur dessa faktorer i så fall, påverkar e-handeln av glasögon. Författarna har uppmärksammat en svag trend kring ehandel av optikprodukter. Då mycket fokus de senaste åren riktats mot kontaktlinser väljer författarna istället att grunda undersökningen på glasögon. Idag har få av de traditionella återförsäljarna e-handel och ännu färre erbjuder glasögon på internet.
