At Sandvik Materials Technology, Argon gas is used as furnace atmosphere when heattreating hot rolled wire. Upon heating chromium steel wire, a rich oxidelayer forms on the wire surface. The abstract of this masters thesis is to enhance the understanding of the constitution of the oxidelayers and the influence of the furnace atmosphere. This will be achieved by performing a number of annealing experiments on laboratory level. Also, the aim is to understand the chemical reactions and physical mecanisms controlling the pickling process.

In this paper we have studied possible future uses for Additive Manufacturing (commonly referred to as 3D-printing) in Space. More specifically we have sought to establish how Additive Manufacturing can be used to construct structures on the Moon. Our studies have shown that Additive Manufacturing has great potential for establishing colonies on not only the Moon, but perhaps even further away from our home planet. With Contour Crafting-technology in combination with ISRU (In Situ Resource Utilization) we could, with material already present in the sediment layers of the Moon, construct advanced structures without having to transfer any extra material from Earth. The aim with this essay is to find out howmen and women in this field get on together, and how they experience their psycho·social work situation bearing this in mind. Are there any advantages or disadvantages being a woman or a man in this profession? What do the librarians think about the future? Men and women working at five different public libraries, where the domination of women is greatest, have been interviewed. Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Ayen Technology AB i Haparanda som är ett litet företag inom satellitkommunikationssektorn. Syftet bakom projektet var att utveckla en takmonterad, motoriserad antenn för satellitkommunikations vanligen kallad ?Drive-away? eller SNG i branschen. Detta är min reflektion av mitt kandidatarbet 2008. Här finns beskrivet mitt arbete samt mina tankar kring det 15 veckor långa kandidatarbetet som resulterade i ett koncept för en helt ny fiktiv värld. I denna undersökning, om begrepp inom ljuddesign som kan bidra till ett dynamiskt narrativ, ser vi kadenser som en möjlig metod att arbeta utifrån. Med tanke på hur man arbetar med ljud och musik i ljudmotorer till spel kan vi konstatera att kadenser kan vara passande för förmedling av narrativ. Det kräver dock att man förstår kontexten, där kadenserna förekommer. Vi har kommit fram till ett sätt att förklara ljuddesign genom en samling av teorier, akustiskt timmer, dvs. hur man kan förmedla något med ljud, antingen fristående eller tillsammans med ett annat medium..
