The public libraries were quick to adapt to the changes that the Internet brought on, and today library websites are an important part of the public library. To meet the needs of teens today, the library website could Offer a range of contents to make it an attractive place on many levels; both the academic needs as well as social and recreational needs should be addressed.The aim of this thesis is to evaluate public library websites for teenagers in Sweden, and to examine how well the websites address the developmental tasks and needs that teenagers have. The method used is website evaluation, one quantitative and one qualitative. A total of 60 public library sites for teenagers were evaluated, using 11 criteria based on Havighursts developmental tasks. The quantitative evaluation measured how many functions each website had per criteria, and showed that the majority of the sites had one or two functions for most of the criteria.

This study aims to discover pedagogues perceptions of children?s sedentary behavior linked to the school and its activities. Questions that the study sought to answer was: What do pedagogues think of when they hear ?sedentary children?. How do the pedagogues look at their own and the schools responsibility? Advantages and disadvantages with sedentary behavior? Relationship between physical activity and sedentary behavior and the impact of environment connected to sedentary behavior? The study is qualitative and implemented through seven interviews with pedagogues in the schools earlier years.

The aim of our study is to gain understanding of how parentsperceive their own, the preschool's, and the library's efforts to stimulate preschoolers' enjoyment and yearning to read, as well as what types of collaborative efforts the parents seek.The study is based upon qualitative interviews with parents, both mothers and fathers, to preschool children (aged 1.5 to 6 years old). The analysis does not Offer any generalizations. We have chosen to use a sociocultural perspective as the theoretical starting-point of our study, our thoughts being that we learn together with and by the help of others. We consider this perspective to be closely related to Aidan Chambers's "The Reading Circle", which we have chosen to use as our tool of analysis.It turned out that the parents perceived their own reading stimulating role as crucial, even if they did not consider all they did as reading stimulative. Some things, such as discussing the book while reading, occurred naturally but is also an important part to stimulate reading.

En individ som utsätts för ett traumatiskt brott påverkas på många sätt. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om individer upplever tillitssvårigheter som följd av att de blivit utsatta för brott, samt om professionellt stöd minskar brottsOffers eventuella tillitssvårigheter. Studien genomförs medkvantitativ metod utifrån det amerikanska datamaterialet National Crime Victimization Survey från 2010. Resultatet visar att de flesta brottsOffer upplever tillitssvårigheter som följd av brott. Samtidigt uppsöker endast ett fåtal brottsOffer professionellt stöd.

As public libraries in Sweden receive the bulk of their budget from local government funding, which has stayed static or, at best, seen small increases, libraries have been faced with inadequate resources with which to satisfy increasing expectations from users. As few libraries are over-funded in the first place, ways may have to be found to combat this situation. The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine alternative sources of funding for Swedish public libraries, and my main focus of interest is that of sponsorship. The method used is a literature study combined with an empirical study, in which interviews were conducted with five persons each with long experience of working with public libraries. The literary study deals with the concept of sponsorship, and the motivations for companies to sponsor are also examined.

Vi behandlar prostitutionen i Thailand genom att undersöka hur den prostituerades roll har konstruerats i samhället. Empiriskt använder vi oss av en thailändsk statlig rapport, som svarar på FN-avdelningen CEDAWs antidiskrimineringskonvention. I denna rapport redogörs för kvinnorättssituationen i landet. Med feministisk teori gör vi en kvalitativ textanalys för att klarlägga den politiska diskursen kring den prostituerades roll och hur denna har formats. Utifrån vår analys konstaterar vi att den prostituerade hamnar i ett stigma där hon beroende på situationen identifieras som antingen en promiskuös agent med personliga ekonomiska incitament eller som ett hjälplöst Offer.

We look at this by conducting a case study in which we studied the opinion of customers who uses the e-bank at FöreningsSparbanken. Method: We have used a qualitative data method through which we have received answers from our respondents, these we have interpreted to form information, which we have used in our analysis. In our empirical study we have used a case study in which we have chosen to interview both customers and co-workers to get an answer to our problem.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how gender and sexuality are made in the videogames Prince of Persia and Fable II, and more specifically to look at possibilities and limitations for the construction of gender and sexuality in these games. I understand videogames as an interactive media form that differs from other types of media like film and literature. It is a media form that depends on a player to be played. At the same time it is constituted by rules of how it can be played. I have analyzed my material by a method called close-playing.

It is important that the language in textbooks for foreign language learners reflects the language that the learners would encounter in real life. For this reason, the presence of the thousand most common nouns in two Swedish textbooks in Spanish for upper secondary school is observed in this study. Furthermore, this study aims to examine how these nouns occur in order to determine if their pattern of occurence favours the learning and consolidation of words. The main materials that have been used are A Frequency Dictionary of Spanish by Davies (2006) and the word search program available in the digital versions of the textbooks. The results show that the presence of the thousand most common Spanish nouns does reflect the frequency information presented in the frequency dictionary but not all thousand nouns are included.

I Sverige har forskningen kring mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor främst utgått från kvinnans roll som våldsutsatt istället för mäns roll som våldsutövande. Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur den svenska facklitteraturen diskuterar mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor. Vår frågeställning har varit följande: Vilka generella konstruktioner av mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor framkommer i facklitteraturen med beaktande av temana makt och kontroll, kvinnans självbild, omgivningens attityder och normer samt orsaksförklaringar till partnervåldet? Arbetet utgörs av en kunskapsöversikt över sju stycken primärdokument som har analyserats med hjälp av socialkonstruktionistisk teoribildning. Resultaten visar att det finns en risk med att majoriteten av författarna i våra primärdokument diskuterar kvinnor som en särskilt utsatt grupp för mäns våld.  Författarna konstruerar en bild av kvinnan som Offer för mannens partnervåld och mannen som förövaren.

Civil disobedience constitutes an interesting ethical phenomena in the democraticstate since the people performing it consciously brakes laws and norms in societyfor purposes they themselves judge to be morally good and just. This thesisexamines whether the phenomena of civil disobedience is justifiable in ademocratic society.In this study civil disobedience is analyzed on two levels. First the problem isanalyzed on a theoretical level in relative to the three, by us established, values:respect for the law, the will of the majority and equality. Second, civildisobedience is analyzed on a more practical level where we test our theoreticalline of argument with the help of two example groups who engages in civildisobedience. The justification of civil disobedience is also analyzed through twoethical perspectives on acting, deontology and consequentialism.Our conclusion is that civil disobedience is justifiable on a theoretical level inrelative to the values we discuss.

Purpose/Aim: To identify which channels of communication are most effective in conveying consumer brands to students. The main areas of research are social media, brochures , employees, and face-to-face interaction as with job fairs, study visits and lectures.Material/Method: Group interviews, literature, electronic sources, Internet sources.Main results: The results of the study show that employees are seen as the most trustworthy source since they are thought of as the most honest. Social media are seen as the communication channel with the broadest range of information but with the possibility of appearing unproffesional. Brochures were considered to be the least effective communication channel as these are rarely read and when they are, often seem contrived and give an overly rigid impression of the company. Face-to-face communication was considered to be the most effective way to gain a professional connection but was as viewed upon with certain skepsis due to the companies tendencies to at times present a false projection of themselves at events such as job fairs.

Vietnams krig från 1945 till 1975 är en historia om hur kommunisterna och Nordvietnam med stödav Kina och Sovjetunionen besegrar kolonialmakten Frankrike och stormakten USA och etablerarkommunistisk regim. Under krigen var det två händelser som allvarligt skadade Nordvietnamsmotståndare; Dien Bien Phu 1954 och Tet-offensiven 1968.Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka asymmetriska metoder som revolutionär krigföringinnehåller och hur dessa metoder, mer eller mindre omedvetet, har använts av Nordvietnam 1954och 1968. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt används Beaufres teori om indirekt strategi, dels för attfinna förklaringar till det asymmetriska karaktären och dels för att pröva Beaufres teori somförklaringsmodell. Arbetsmetoden har varit kvalitativ innehållsanalys och uppsatsen är ihuvudsak disponerad enligt kronologisk respektive tematisk ordning.Undersökningen visar att Frankrike och USA/Sydvietnam kontra de vietnamesiska kommunisternahade en diametralt motsatt syn på tid, operativt djup och mänskliga Offer och därför praktiseradekontrahenterna vitt skilda operationskonster vilket utgjorde grunden för ett asymmetrisktförhållande..
