While studying at the landscape architect program in Uppsala I found stress to play a major roll in the education. To help myself and others to handle the negative stress within the profession and the education I choose to write my thesis about landscape architects' work cultures. Swedish Association of Architects is in second place in the SACO study on long-term sickness for fatigue syndrome, stress and depression. The issue needed to be addressed. My purpose with the thesis has been to study the work cultures in the landscape profession and training and to study and find ways to manage negative stress in the profession and in education.

I takt med att vår medvetenhet om miljöns påverkan på vårt välbefinnande ökar, så ökar också behovet av en kunnig yrkeskår som planerar vår livsmiljö utifrån de rådande förutsättningarna. Landskapsarkitektyrket är ett relativt ungt yrke, vars tunna yrkeshistorik bidrar till en allmänhet som generellt är dålig på att definiera yrkesrollen. Medias framställning och tolkning av yrket är också en starkt bidragande faktor till att den skeva bilden av yrkesrollen ytterligare förstärks. Syftet med denna pilotstudie är att granska ett antal utvalda medier, vars information ställs i motpol till ett antal intervjuade yrkesverksamma landskapsarkitekter. Resultatet förstärker min teori om att det finns en utbredd okunskap hos såväl kollegor som allmänheten.

Purpose: To compare the expectations of coming profession in social work with experienced social work. We wanted to compare the pictures between the students in school of social work studies with social workers. We also wanted to increase social workers as well as other readers? awareness of social work as a profession.Questions: What characterizes the school of social studies? How do students in school of social work view the coming role as a professional? How do students in school of social work view upon social workers as professionals? How do social workers view upon their own profession? How do social workers view upon the own role as a professional? How do social workers view upon the relation between the idea of the profession and the daily practice? How do the students in school of social work studies and social workers view upon professional social work?Method: Qualitative study with qualitative interviews.Conclusion: Social work is a low status profession. How to increase the status of social work is not easy.

I Förskollärarprofessionen ur ett förskollärar- och föräldraperspektiv författad av Jenny Wernberg och Therese Persson, studeras förskollärares och föräldrars syn på och uppfattningar om förskollärarens profession samt likheter och skillnader mellan dem. Vi har även studerat hur läroplanens införande har påverkat förskollärarnas professionalisering. Våra teoretiska utgångspunkter är begrepp som profession, professionalism och professionalisering. Kvalitativa intervjuer och enkäter har legat till grund för denna studie. Förskollärarna har ett helhetsperspektiv och pratar om sin profession och professionalisering på gruppnivå. De fokuserar mycket på läroplanen och vikten av att synliggöra verksamheten för föräldrar.

Schizophrenia can cause symptoms such as auditory hallucinations, delusions, emotional blunting, apathy and lack of motivation. These result in a diminished ability to participate in daily activities and bring the client group into the domain of occupational therapists. The purpose of this literature review is to compile the latest findings in occupational therapy interventions for individuals with schizophrenia. Furthermore guidance regarding the utility of the interventions will be given based on the author?s assessment of the evidence in the 22 articles included.

This paper is based on a literature review and interviews made with managers in small-scale nurseries for pot plant production. The review helped to identify the worst occupational hazards in pot plant production. The interviews provided a way to investigate how the nurseries act so as to avoid the worst hazards and what they do to even out work intensive periods during the season in order to get a more even distribution of work over the year. According to available statistics problems with back and shoulders are the most common of the physical disorders and the risk for occupational accidents are high for greenhouse workers. Most of the occupational injuries are connected to musculoskeletal problems. The handling of material is often manual and involves frequent lifting and carrying of heavy loads, the strenuous work postures and static muscular tensions these repetitive tasks are associated with causes straining and overloading.

This essay describes how the author gradually gets a deeper understanding for his profession and the development of his professional skills, attitude and practice. The essay contains two main narratives representing examples from the author´s occupational practice, and through those narratives he tells how his practice alters and develops. These stories are also the basis for considering different aspects on how to get good models for practising a profession when you are a beginner, and how to manage ethical dilemmas. The starting point is when the author in the beginning of his career as a rural pastor is visiting a seriously ill parishioner at a province hospital. The course and the outcome of this call is surprising the young pastor, and the author tries to analyze the background to the outcome and assesses several possible explanations for the result of his call. The narrative is used to examine the attitude, the professional skills and the social and existential context for the author at that time. The patriarchal patterns in the parish are illuminated and questioned. In the second part of the essay the author investigates what will happen when pastoral cure transforms to psychotherapy, and how the author deals with phenomena in the therapeutical process such as idealization and secondary traumatization. On basis of texts written by among others Ingela Josefson, Fredrik Svenaeus, Christian Nilsson and Ulla Ekström von Essen the author seeks explanation for the development of his practical knowledge. The purpose of this study is to examine what factors that motivate people to work in professions with an explicit and inherent risk of threats and violence. By using a qualitative study and conducting in-depth interviews with eight security guards and doormen with experience from working at restaurants and nightclubs, the study could conclude that the interviewed security guards and doormen were motivated mainly by economic incentives and the social interaction that the profession entails. Status and riskiness of the profession did also, to a certain extent, contribute to the motivation. The professions' lack of advancement opportunities were frequently mentioned as the main reason to why one chose to leave the position, or consider the time in the profession as limited..

The study takes place in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. It focuses on how the past reforms since the 90s have changed the teachers? occupation as a profession.The study is partially based on analysis of prior research and documents related to the thesis. The cornerstone of it is based on four immerse interviews carried out in three different schools. Two of which were private schools and the third is a municipal school.

Gotland is famous around the world for its unique nature. The agriculture here has always been an important source of income and part of the identity of the island. But today the profession has low status and hard to survive. How can the interest for farming be increased?Gotlandsgården is an investigation about how the agriculture could develop.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetsterapeuters arbete med fritidsaktiviteter vid rehabilitering av äldre. Fem semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med arbetsterapeuter verksamma inom distriktsarbetsterapi eller daglig verksamhet. Arbetsterapeuterna hade 5 till 38 års yrkeserfarenhet. Intervjuer analyserades enligt kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analys av data resulterade i tre kategorier: ?Ramar och regler vid arbete med fritidsaktiviteter; Strategier för att möjliggöra klienters deltagande i fritidsaktiviteter; Arbetsterapeuters tankar om fritidsaktiviteter?.

Many professions, such as doctors and psychologists, have a long history of work practice which have resulted that these professions have created their own ethical guidelines. The IT profession, which can be viewed as a relative young and somewhat immature profession, have yet to accommodate any clear guidelines regarding ethics. It?s therefore imperative to create discussions regarding ethical actions to raise the ethical awareness and also create ethical guidelines. The development of the IT profession is moving forward at a quick pace and it?s important to understand that this rapid advancement is not only changing the profession but also changing the society and the environment.

Background: The audit has not always been as it is today. The first law requiring auditing was legislated in the Companies Act 1895. Many events have taken place in the audit history; among them was the Krueger crash, which affected the auditing profession hard in Sweden. This led to new recommendations and laws that would save the profession. Because of the events in the past, there are many who question the audit profession and discussions have been held regarding the auditor's independence and objectivity.

The aim of this essay is to get a deeper understanding of a teachers' profession and to get knowledge of how earlier experiences can influence you as a teacher. I have interviewed a female teacher, Pia to get this understanding. As a tool to get the teacher's whole story I used the life story method. In her profession she is influenced by her own importance of security as a child.Her own needs of security has given her an deeper understanding for pupils like herself during the childhood; insecure and afraid. Her understanding for all kinds of behavior among the children has increased by her own experiences.The story shows that Pia is frustrated by the fact that she can't control her own working time.

The aim of this study was to investigate physician?s view of physiotherapy in primary health care. Semi structured interviews were conducted with five physicians. The study was carried out as a qualitative context analyse study. The interviews were coded in categories independently by the two authors.
