Malnutrition vid cytostatikabehandligen, sjuksköterskans förebyggande och lindrande omvårdnadsåtgärder : systematisk litteraturstudie

Syftet men denna systematiska litteraturstudie har varit att beskriva vilka komplikationer, som kunde leda till malnutrition hos cancerpatienter när de genomgått cytostatikabehandling. Studien syftar även till att beskriva vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder sjuksköterskan kunde vidta för att förebygga och lindra dessa komplikationer hos patienter med cancer. Artikelsökningen har skett via databaserna Elin@Dalarna, Blackwell Synergy och ScienceDirect (Elsevier). Sökorden som användes var cancer, constipation, fatigue, malnutrition, nutrition, nursing, pain, support, treatment, chemotherapy, side-effects, prevention, oral, complication, nausea, nutritional support, weight loss, BMR, oncology och care. Resultatet visade att komplikationerna som cancerpatienterna kunde drabbas av var fatigue, diareér, kräkningar, såriga slemhinnor och illamående.

Näringstillskotts plats i omvårdnaden av personer med trycksår : En litteraturstudie

Bakgrund: Trycksår är vanligt förekommande inom vården. En koppling har gjorts mellan försämrad nutritionsstatus och ökad risk för trycksår. Ett sätt att påverka näringsstatusen kan vara att ge näringstillskott och genom detta indirekt påverka läkningen av trycksår, detta omvårdnadsansvar ligger hos sjuksköterskan. Ett problem kan dock vara att kunskapen hos sjuksköterskor gällande näringstillskott kan variera. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva näringstillskotts effekt på läkningen av trycksår.

Undernäring hos äldre personer med fokus på könsskillnader- En kvantitativ studie

Introduction: Malnutrition leads to loss of health and coexists with disease and loss of function. A good nutritional status becomes more important the older you get to maintain a good health. Studies show that it is important to identify and prevent malnutrition in its early stages. Men and women recieve different medical treatment in a number of different medical diseases. There are few studies in nursing from av gender perspective.Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the prevalence of malnutrition in the elderly in Västra Götaland with focus on gender differences when it comes to prevalence and nursing interventionsMethod: A register study with av quantitative approach is conducted to answer the aim.

Attityder till äldres ätande och näringstillstånd : En enkätstudie bland kommunala sjuksköterskor

Äldre personer riskerar i stor utsträckning att drabbas av undernäring och sjuksköterskor har en viktig uppgift i nutritionsarbetet kring dessa personer. Studiens syfte var att mäta attityder till äldres ätande och näringstillstånd. Det validerade instrumentet Staff Attitudes to Nutritional Nursing Care Geriatric scale (SANN-G-skalan) användes. I urvalet ingick sjuksköterskor på särskilt boende och korttidsboende i två kommuner. Två påståenden som handlade om kostpolicy och utbildning i nutrition lades till i enkäten, med möjlighet att lämna kommentar.

Beskrivning av patienters postoperativa vårdförlopp tre dagar efter kolorektalkirurgi enligt ERAS vårdprogram

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the post-operative care during the three first days for patients who have undergone colorectal surgery according to ERAS care programs with a focus on the variables nutrition, elimination, activity, type of analgesia and the number of hospital days documented in the patient record and patient log books. ERAS means "Early Recovery After Surgery" and the purpose of the health care program is to accelerate recovery after colorectal surgery. The study had a descriptive design and a quantitative approach, in which 51 patient records were included. Log books and patient records were reviewed postoperatively. According to the log books estimated most of the patients, who had documented, that they ate and drank very good or good.

Antinutritionella substanser iåkerböna, ärter och blålupin vidutfodring till mjölkkor

There is a shortage of locally produced high quality protein concentrates in Europe andSweden. Local production would decrease the dependency on imported soybean and meet thedemand for organically grown feedstuff from ecological dairy farmers. Field bean (Viciafaba), peas (Pisum sativum) and sweet lupin (Lupinus angustifolius) are good alternatives tosoybean, but contain anti-nutritional substances (ANS) that could reduce their use as proteinconcentrates in dairy cow diets. The aim of this literature study was to review which ANSfield bean, peas and sweet lupin contain and whether they affect dairy cows negatively.Trypsin inhibitors and Chymotrypsin inhibitors (TI) were present in all three crops. TI couldbecome inactivated and degraded in the rumen, but due to the high passage speed of thedigesta, most TI left the rumen in an active state.

Utveckling av en fiberberikad probiotisk fruktdryck

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether resistant maltodextrin is suitable as a fiber source in the probiotic fruit drink ProViva Mango without affecting the probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus plantarum 299v, viscosity or the sensory experience of the drink. Resistant maltodextrin is produced from hydrolyzed corn starch and is classified as a soluble dietary fiber. It is relatively resistant to digestion in the small intestine, where approximately 10% can be broken down, 50% can be fermented in the colon by the intestinal flora and 40 % is excreted in the faeces. Resistant maltodextrin has several important qualities when it comes to food processing. When added in a product, it does not affect the viscosity or taste and it is heat and acid stable.

Granskning av drycker med hälsoprofil : påståenden och hälsomärkning

The aim of this study was to survey the labelling of drinks with pronounced healthbenefits found on the Swedish market today and to evaluate whether they are inaccordance to EU and national regulations or not. Especially the nutrition and healthclaims were looked into. This study shows that there are several drinks with claimedhealth effects being sold today. The process of approaching full functioningregulations in the EU on nutrition and health claims is proceeding slowly. A snapshotof today??s market of drinks with pronounced health effects shows that there aremultiple cases of misleading statements and interfering labelling on the products.Often it concerns nutritional labelling or health claims.

Får patienterna tillräckligt med näring på intensiven?

Bakgrund: Patienter inom vården löper risk att drabbas av malnutrition. Flera studier har visat att malnutrition fortfarande är ett stort problem inom vård och omsorg och en viktig patientsäkerhetsfråga. Målsättningen med nutritionsbehandling är att tillgodose patientens fysiologiska behov för att minimera vävnadsförluster och upprätthålla vitala funktioner och därigenom ge möjlighet till tillfrisknande samt förbättrad upplevelse av hälsa. Förr sågs nutritionsbehandling som en stödåtgärd medan den i dag har en mer framträdande roll i patientens vård och behandling. Syfte: Var att undersöka hur kaloriordinationen uppfylls och hur viktutvecklingen sett ut under de dagar studien genomfördes.

Lichens are adapted to bright and sparse forests on oligotrophic ground. Due to a slow growth rate and high light demand lichens will suffer from competition in eutrophic environments. Therefore, lichens have disappeared from managed forests where the forest industry has increased the productivity. A reduced abundance of lichens will affect both biodiversity of the forest and the reindeer winter graze lands. It is important to understand how and for how long fertilization affects the abundance and diversity of lichens in order to protect lichen rich ecosystems. We have registered the biomass and number of lichen species in eight plots (four nitrogen rich and four nitrogen deficient) and compared fertilized Sami settlements with their oligotrophic surroundings in the nature reserves of Tjeggelvas.

The purpose of this study is to give an overview about iron fortification from the view of technique and health. Example of a technical aspect is different iron compounds which are used for fortification like ferrous sulfate, ferrous fumarate and elemental iron. In the aspect of health the big question is if iron fortification can improve the health in reducing the prevalence of anemia. The study focuses on flour fortification with iron in Egypt and Iran and involves a literature study with scientific articles. Also information from WHO (World Health Organization), FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and FFI (Flour Fortification Initiative) are used.Fortification means an intentionally increasing of the content of micronutrient in foods with the aim to improve the food quality and deliver a nutritional benefit to the consumer.

Betydelsen av social rang på beteende och mjölknings­parametrer i ett automatiskt mjölkningssystem (AMS) :

The purpose with the study was to find a pattern in the behaviour of dairy cows which could be related to their social rank. A behavioural study was conducted at the University Cattle Research Centre (Kungsängen) in Uppsala, Sweden. The study included 12 lactating dairy cows, 6 high ranked and 6 low ranked. The cows were housed in a loose housing barn with an automatic milking system (AMS) to which they had access 24 hours a day. During the experiment the total number of cows in the barn was 46.

Horses are made to eat mainly roughage and it is essential for optimal health to offer them an appropriate amount of roughage with good hygienic and nutritional qualities. To produce good hay at the right time and be able to keep the hygienic quality until next summer is a problem. This has the effect that horse owners today choose haylage and silage to a larger extent. Science in this area is scarce, i.e. if the change from hay to silage has any effect on the horse.

Probiotics is a special group of health products on the market. The most common type of  these is live cultures of lactic acid fermenting bacteria from raw milk . These include, among others, yogurt and various trademarks such as Hälsofil ®, Acidophilus ®, Dofilus ® and Kefir ®. Such products are often used by patients who are treated with antibiotics to combat the intestinal flora eliminated, thus causing digestive problems.
