The purpose of this paper is to examine how the arrival of class society is expressed in the social dance of high society during the second half of the eighteenth century. The study is based on the idea that culture and society develope in interaction; that changes in the economic, political and social life determine the cultural expressions as well. What I wish to examine is whether cultural themes from the developing bourgeois culture ? individualism, to be precise ? is expressed in the social dance during the second half of the eigthteenth century. // The study shows that public balls definitely gave people a chance to show off on the dance floor in spite of social rank.

Development of morphs within European whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus), might be considered as a beginning of a sympatric speciation process. Unpublished data suggests that presence of the keystone piscivore northern pike (Esox lucius) is the main driver of sympatric divergence in European whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus). Using introduced whitefish populations as controlled experiments, it is possible to determine when different characters diverge in the speciation process. In this study, I analysed age and growth within European whitefish populations of different age to assess if these characters change over time in absence of pike. With using otoliths from whitefish populations of different age, I was possible to determine individual age, and by measuring the length of the fish, growth was calculated.

AbstractThis study has two aims:[X] to create an analytical framework consisting of factors that might trigger terrorism[X] to apply the analytical framework on the case of IRA, in order to be able to examinewhich factors that exist behind the appearance of terrorism in the current caseTo reach the first aim the author has studied the theoretical discourse on the complexed issueof terrorism. This has constituted the point of departure for the creation of an own analyticalframework. The purpose of the framework is to bring clearness to why terrorism appears. Theanalytical framework is not only suited for application on the case of IRA, but for applicationon terrorismcases in general. To reach the second aim the framework was applied on the caseof IRA.The aims of this study have been fulfilled through the method of qualitative text analysis.

Uppsatsen är en komparativ studie om läsundervisningen i två klasser i Sverige och Danmark. Den danska läroplanen, Fælles Mål, 2009, har tydligare riktlinjer angående läsning, vilken vi har jämfört med den svenska läroplanen, Lgr11. Två rapporter om elevers läskunnighet sammanfattas i uppsatsen. Delar av rapporterna har lyfts då vi anser att dessa är betydelsefulla för elevers läsning. Till exempel har vi redogjort för betydelsen av olika läsmaterial och individuell läsning.

Torsten Sylvén, född 1915 och tredje generationen konstsnickare, blev våren 2005 utnämnd till Teknologie Hedersdoktor vid Linköping universitet för sin insats att placera möbelforskning på den akademiska agendan. Handgriplig restaurering och tillverkning tillsammans med parallella studier av framförallt 1700-talets möbelkonst har lett till att Torsten Sylvén besitter exceptionella kunskaper inom möbelområdet. In their essay they examined Sweden?s municipalities? tourist websites and graded these based on a number of Web 2.0 criterias. In this essay we examine tourist websites belonging to the 15 most popular tourist destinations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and Ireland. The purpose of this study is to give a general overview of how far these countries? tourist websites have come in terms of web development, in relation to Web 2.0.

This thesis is performed as a summarizing project for the mechanical engineering education at School of Engineering in Jönköping. All knowledge necessary to complete this thesis was gathered from previous courses and education.This project was to develop a new product for the company TR Equipment AB in Tranås. The new product is going to be based on an already existing product, TR 1700. TR 1700 is a bathtub equipped with a height adjustable function. This product is used in retirement homes and in the care of disabled people.

Syftet med denna studie var att ge en djupare inblick i pedagogiska tanketraditioner och med ett musikpedagogiskt kunskapsintresse undersöka vilka intentioner och konventioner som låg till grund för kommunikation av musikaliska kunskaper i historiska manualer. Förord ur fyra manualer från två olika århundraden studerades; en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1500-talet och en instrumentskola och en musikteoretisk manual från 1700-talet. Manualerna var Silvestro Ganassis Opera intitulata Fontegara från 1535, Thomas Morleys A Plaine and Easie Introduction to Practicall Musicke från 1597, Johann Joseph Fux Gradus ad Parnassum från 1725 samt Johann Joachim Quantz Versuch einer Anweisung die Flöte traversiere zu spielen från 1752. Med en kombinerad metod analyserades förorden i tre nivåer för att se hur musikaliska kunskaper kommunicerades dels på ett individuellt plan, dels på ett mer socialt orienterat plan. Studiens teoretiska ansats utgjordes av ett övergripande kulturpsykologiskt perspektiv, vilket gav möjlighet att vetenskapligt belysa relationen mellan individer och traditioner och därmed också förbinda studien med dagens musikpedagogiska praktik.

The Irish immigrants have been an important part of London throughout the centuries. Their presence can be found from the 17th century and onwards. Initially occupied as seasonal workers in agrarian fields the Irish later found alternative ways of supporting themselves as the Industrial Revolution transformed the whole of England. Despite their vital importance to the construction of what was to be known as "the modern Babylon" the Irish have been victims of both social prejudice and maltreatment. Some historians have imposed a comparison between the Irish in England and the African slaves in the United States.
