My purpose in this essay is to show how the staff in an institution for young women with a drug addiction, are looking at themselves as "normal" and the young women as "abnormal", and to analyse how sex and gender are made, in interaction with sexuality and class.The essay is based on interviews and a participating observation. The study is made on a compulsory institutional care institution for young women with a drug addict. To analyse the material I use theories by Beverly Skeggs and Judith Butler.In the study I show that the staff in the institution define themselves as "normal" and intend to act as models for the clients, which are described as "abnormal" in terms of being destructive, boundless and sexual. In making class and gender the staffs efforts to make clients learn domestic values and to make their bodies feminine are shown to be central processes. Sexuality is by the staff seen as something happening only between men and women, and defining relations between men and women as always sexual creates gender.A central tension that I show in the essay is that between normal and abnormal, both in relation to differences between the staff and the clients and in relation to the staffs roles as both models of normal life and of violent and violating keeps of order.

Heavy duty vehicles often have problems with traction during the winter periods. For vehicles that can lift tag axles it is possible to increase the normal force on the driven axle by lifting one or more tag axles, this will then increase the propulsive force of friction. This however increases wear on both road and vehicle. A possibility to reduce the wear while achieving nearly equivalent traction compared to lifted tag axles is to allow the vehicle to regulate the normal force by lowering the pressure in the air suspension associated with the tag axles or by the lifting of these axles. The vehicle would then by itself be able to set just the right amount of normal force on the drive wheels to avoid unnecessarily high normal forces while maintaining sufficient traction.The purpose of the report is to find out which parameters affect heavy duty vehicles when driving on slippery slopes and how traction can be improved.

This Thesis in Military Technology deals with experiences drawn from the forced introduction of Weapons Station 01, 2009. The work aims to identify the experiences regarding the forced procurement of military equipment to see how they can develop normal and fast procurement of equipment. I Sverige erbjuds barn med hörselnedsättning cochleaimplantat (CI) eller hörapparat (HA) beroende på typ och grad av hörselskada. Med CI möjliggörs utveckling av talat språk för barn som fötts döva eller gravt hörselskadade. Den tekniska utvecklingen jämte pedagogiska insatser har lett till en allt bättre språklig och kognitiv utveckling hos barn med hörselnedsättning och ett minskande glapp till jämnåriga normalhörande barn. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka olika aspekter av arbetsminne och läsförmåga hos nio barn med CI och sju barn med hörapparat. Femtifem barn med normal hörsel utgjorde referensgrupp.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how much of the estimated annual electric energy production from Swedish wind power that actually was produced, as well as the history of this agreement over time. The aim is to also examine if there are properties that have caused some group of wind power plants to produce more or less, compared to their estimated production. Operational data on wind turbines collected by the Swedish Energy Agency was analyzed. A survey was made among owners of wind power plants with a nominal power of at least 2 MW. Two different methods for normal year correction of production data were used and compared.

Body awareness is a term that refers to a person´s perception and knowledge about his or her body. It includes proportion, size, weight, contour and image of ones body. The Ben- Tovim Walker Body Attitudes Questionnaire (BAQ) contains 44 questions concerning the different aspects of body awareness: Feeling fat, Body disparagement, Strength and fitness, Salience of weight, Attractiveness and Lower body fatness. The purpose of this study was to investigate body awareness among men in military recruit training. BAQ was distributed to fifty recruits for military service in Boden.

Bakgrund: Utgångspunkt för denna magisteruppsats är att barnafödandet är en naturlig fysiologisk och social process samt att vård i samband med barnafödande ska främja denna process. Den normala förlossningen är starkt knuten till barnmorskans profession då hon har ansvar för och arbetar självständigt med handläggning av denna. Utvecklingen av förlossningsvården i västvärlden har stegvis gått från att ses som en normal livshändelse till en händelse med fokus på det medicinska. Idag präglas förlossningsvården av risktänkande och interventioner sker rutinmässigt. Riktlinjer inom förlossningsvården fokuserar alltmer på medicinska kontroller och barnmorskans stödjande roll blir åsidosatt.

In Sweden, the eutrophication of lakes, water courses and the coastal areas is considered the major threat to aquatic ecosystems and therefore actions taken to reduce the nutrient load to aquatic system including the Baltic Sea has high priority. There are many different sources of phosphorous and nitrogen and domestic wastewater is one contributing factor to the high load. Especially waste water from households that is not connected to municipal sewage treatment or a local small scale plant with appropriate nutrient removal efficiency is considered a problem. These types of households are quite common in rural areas in Sweden and in areas where summer houses has been converted to permanent living. Swedish legislation now permit the municipalities to decide in which areas within the municipality higher demands of the local small scale treatment facility should be met by the households (i.e.

Enzymatisk modifiering av fiskolja - jämförelse mellan olika lipaser.I detta arbete studerades tre olika lipaser som katalyserade en metanolysreaktion i fiskolja.Målet med arbetet var att finna ett specifikt lipas för produktion av en EPA/DHA fraktioner från fiskoljan i en metanolysreaktion få högt utbyte av Sn-2 monoglycerider av EPA och/eller DHA och med detta kunna möjliggöra uppkoncentrering av hälsoviktiga fettsyror jämföra reaktionen i normal och superkritisk atmosfär.Metanolysen ägde rum i normal och superkritisk atmosfär genom att oljan, enzymet och metanol blandades i respektive reaktorn.Sn-1,3 specifika lipaser var isolerade från Thermomyces lanuginosa (Lipozym TL IM från Novozymes, Danmark) och Rhizomucor miehei (Lypozym RM IM från Novozymes, Danmark ) och ospecifik lipas från Pseudamonas sp.(Amano-C från Amano Enzyme Inc. Japan). Alla enzymer var immobiliserade på jonbytare.I försöken användes ?Ledins? fiskolja som var köpt i en lokal affär. Oljan var en blandning extraherad från oceanernas olika fiskklasser.

Aim: To examine the reaction of extreme preterm infants with regarding to body temperature and transepidermal water loss during skin-to-skin care according to Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) during the infant?s first week of life. Method: This was a descriptive quantitatively designed study, which was a pilot study within the framework of a larger project. Nine children, with a median gestational age of 24.91 weeks, were examined by measuring body temperature (axilla and skin temperature) as well as transepidermal water loss before, during and after KMC. Results: The study showed that skin temperature tended to rise during KMC, especially for those children who were nursed with KMC for more than 60 minutes.

This qualitative study aims to study how sexuality is constructed in web articles on the movie Fifty Shades of Grey. The study is based on a social constructivist perspective where language is seen as constitutive of reality. The study is based on a Foucauldian discourse analysis which is used in order to see what is excluded and included in the articles? construction of normal sexuality. The result shows that there are similarities in how the web articles produce normal sexuality.

This master thesis reviews advances in detection and diagnosis of static friction (stiction) in control valves. Control valves suffering from stiction results in oscillating control loops which in turn decreases both the process stability and reliability. Perstorp AB sees a necessity to automatically detect stiction in valves before the effects of the malfunctioning valves have become too severe. This thesis presents an introduction to maintenance, control loops and how stiction in valves can affect performance of control loops.A selection of methods presented in the literature are introduced and examined using normal operating data from the site in Perstorp. Common for all selected methods is their intuitive ideas and that they are based on normal operating data and minimum amount of process knowledge.
