I chose to do this work because I believe that today?s industrial designprofessionals lack in their task of creating aesthetic experiences and aestheticdiversity.With my work, I want to question why the majority of today?s technical, massproducedeveryday products have such a similar design expression, andwhy alternatives are so few. Most of all, I take a critical attitude to today?sstereotypical industrial design aesthetics that I would describe as technical,masculine, and unnecessarily complex.I have designed a number of products that show alternative aesthetics in thissegment and as such I have chosen the vacuum cleaner. The idea is that mydesign will serve as an eye opener and demonstrate that there are alternativesto today?s homogeneous market.The result is three vacuum cleaners claiming three alternatives to currentofferings.

In year 2000 the Swedish Public Service television started a new series of programmes named Mediemagasinet. The purpose was to expose the work of journalism through the eyes of a journalist. The programme showed different types of tasks and problems that have to do with journalistic reporting. The form of Mediemagasinet wasn?t anything new but the content was presented as the very first of its kind.

 The food-safety legislation in Sweden were changed and updated in 1996, much because of demands from the European Union for a common legislation regarding the food-safety issues in the EU. This report discusses how the Swedish authorities are dealing with the new legislation in Sweden. Further on the report presents how the food safety officers in the municipalities in Sweden are implementing this new legislation in their daily work, especially the requirements regarding the HACCP, Hazard Analysis Control and Checkpoints. The report shows that the implementation is quite slow and that many foodsafety-officers don?t implement the legislation in the same way all over the country.

I denna uppsats har jag undersökt SFI-lärares inställning till hur man bör beröra ämnet homosexualitet i SFI-undervisningen, genom att analysera lärares svar i 22 enkäter och tre intervjuer. Jag har också gjort en analys av läromedel där jag har undersökt hur hetero- och homosexuella relationer representeras i tre olika böcker avsedda för SFI-undervisning. Syftet har varit att se hur väl litteraturen och lärarnas inställning stämmer överens med de formuleringar som står i läroplaner och kursplaner om tolerans och bekämpning av tendenser till trakasserier, att sätta dem i relation till queerteoretiska resonemang samt att synliggöra ett eventuellt osynliggörande av homosexuella kursdeltagare.I litteraturen hittas hundratals exempel på representation av heterosexualitet, men ingen representation av homosexuella relationer. Inte heller berörs ämnet i de kapitel som rör familjekonstellationer, sexualitet eller politik. I analysen av enkäter och intervjuer framgår att de flesta av lärarna som ingår i undersökningen, tycker att man bör diskutera, eller prata om homosexualitet i klassrummet.

Religioners symbolsystem kan, utifrån ett sociologiskt och antropologiskt perspektiv, uppfattas som grund för hur människor skapar och upprätthåller kultur och social ordning. Inom gudinnetron riktas som oftast kritik mot de monoteistiska religionerna så som kristendom, judendom och islam. Man menar att dessa religioners etik, mytologi och symbolik tolkas och reproduceras utifrån en androcentrisk norm som främst gynnar exploatering av kvinnor, barn och jorden själv. Makt är ett nyckelbegrepp i dessa sammanhang. Mitt syfte är att förstå hur gudinnetrons symboliska system skapar förståelse av begreppet makt.

The aim of this thesis was to examine how newspaper journalism represented the celebrity Anna Anka. Which roles and qualities did the media ascribe Anna Anka and in what way did the media frame her as a woman.We examined texts and photographs from two Swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, 16 texts were analysed. The method we used were discourse analysis with focus on relations, identities and representation.The result showed that Anna Anka was represented in an essentially equal way in both newspapers. The image of Anna Anka seems to be multifaceted. In the texts Anna Anka becomes a symbol for conflicts that emerge in discourses regarding gender, celebrity and Swedish values.

Uppsatsen behandlar ett nytt bruk av en som könsneutralt generaliserande pronomen och det normkritiska och feministiska reformförslag som ligger bakom. Syftet med uppsatsen var att studera bruket av en och det bakomliggande reformförsöket, vilket gjordes i tre komplette­rande delundersökningar. Genom en inledande kartläggning av bruket beskrevs det nya bruket av en samt var och av vilka en används. Grunderna till bruket fastställdes med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med centrala aktörer i reformförsöket. Slutligen studerades universitets­studenters uppfattning om en genom en enkätundersökning, då de sågs som tänkta användare och möjliga aktörer.

The thesis Den ?fria? rörligheten aims to give deeper knowledge to the notion of social sustainable mobility. My previous knowledge within the subject is focused around mobility being biased and therefore gaining particular groups of actors within society and leaving others worse off. Therefore I chose to do a critical analysis of social sustainable mobility and more precisely show which problems that exist and why.To start with, I have created a framework for social sustainable mobility, from which I have looked at the empirical material. The general empirical material is mostly based on mobility in Sweden also a more specific study is made of the Öresundregion.

Abstract (Engelska)The aim of this study is to investigate who is being emphasized, constructed and normalized as the addressee written for, in the text book ?Körkortsboken 2013?. Körkortsboken is used as the major textbook in the theoretical part of the education necessary to obtain a drivers? license in Sweden. Most people in Sweden obtain a drivers? license, sooner or later.

This study indicates that research about men and masculinity does not appear to have advanced as far as research about women and femininity. Similarly to attitudes concerning women and femininity, clear norms and attitudes regarding men and masculinity pervade society. Hence, there is a clear need for further research within this field to be carried out. This study, with the support of previous research, looks at gender norms which exist in educational material and the impact it might have on students. Against this backdrop, the author has focused the analysis on one textbook as educational material at upper secondary level with particular emphasis on masculinity and its associated norms.

Through a theological perspective, a critical analysis is performed in order to find new interpretations and compare them with each other and with the Islamic legal tradition. Argumentative analysis is also used for both the book and the documentary for this essay.     Both Kugle and Sharma use new interpretations and arguments about love to find space for homosexuality in Islam. They use a Muslim language to have relevance with their discussions to Muslim readers and viewers.

The aim of this thesis has been to analyze and interpret several different discourses in Japan and from the findings see how the Ainu people and their existence in Japan have been defined in today's Japan and in who's interest it is to keep it this way. My findings was that the Japanese nation in all channels of society are reinforcing and perpetuating the belief that it constitutes an ethnically homogenous nation and that there exists no ethnic problems in the country. I found that schoolbooks don?t give adequate information about the Ainu people and its history, and the Japanese press is reinforcing the status quo by their selective silence and limited coverage on issues concerning the Ainu. The government has defined and legitimized the problem of Ainu within the framework of culture and tradition.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to examine the organizational culture at a specific hotel. To do this we have chosen to use interviews with both managers and employees. We have also done some minor observations and also studied written documents. The questions are as follow:? How is the organizational culture seen by managers and employees?? The management of assets in organisations today can be a challenging task and optimising their usage is critical to ensure maximum profit. For rental businesses offering tangible products efficient management of movable assets are an essential part of the business strategy. The main purpose of this study is to investigate how asset management and asset information management can be carried out in rental businesses and in what ways information technology can support it. By doing a literature review combined with a case study where three rental businesses and their use of information technology were examined we could identify several important aspects regarding asset information management. The results we have found is that rental businesses with a high degree of digitization in existing asset information management systems are able to rationalize existing work processes, which in some ways changes the roles of employees.
