The main project Dry preservation of source-separated organic household wastes involves a new technique for treatment of biowaste through drying. Investigations are going on to determine how the dried biowaste best can be used to close the natural circular flow of nutrients. The objective of this degree project is to determine if the dried biowaste can be used as a soil conditioner. By restoring the nutrients in the material to the ground, the natural circular flow is closed. A declaration of contents, including the nutrient levels, C/N ratio, pH and the electrical conductivity of the dried biowaste, was constructed and a germination test was done to make sure that the material did not inhibit sprouting.

Förmågan att benämna verb och substantiv kan skilja sig åt hos såväl friska vuxna (Strauss Hough, 2007) som personer med afasi (Mätzig, Druks, Masterson & Vigliocco, 2009). Hos personer med afasi har skillnader mellan förmågan att benämna substantiv och verb relaterats till skadelokalisation (Damasio & Tranel, 1993). Vid afasiutredningar används ofta benämningstest för att bedöma framplockningen av ord (Herbert, Hickin, Howard, Osborne & Best, 2008).Action Naming Test (ANT) är ett verbbenämningstest som normerats på svenska (Lindahl & Oskarsson, 2011; Stenberg & Wik, 2013), men inte studerats hos personer med afasi. Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka hur verbbenämningsförmågan ser ut hos personer med afasi och expressiva svårigheter, i relation till den svenska normeringen för ANT. Några av orden i normeringen var problematiska, varför en reanalys av data genomfördes av Stenberg och Wik (2013).

Övervikt och fetma är ett växande problem i Sverige och i världen. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att, genom patienters upplevelser, belysa hur sjuksköterskan kan möjliggöra empowerment så att patienter med övervikt och fetma upplever livskvalitet och värdighet. Metoden är en analys av 14 kvalitativa studier. I resultatet framkommer följande teman: Livskvalitet och värdighet i vardagen, med subtemana; hur personer med övervikt och fetma upplever och handskas med stigmatisering och negativa attityder i omgivningen, upplevelser av kampen med viktminskningen, hur identitet och kroppsuppfattning påverkas av övervikt, hur övervikten genererar begränsningar i vardagen samt personernas komplexa relation till mat. Temat Livskvalitet och värdighet i mötet med vården innehåller subtemana; hur patienter med övervikt och fetma upplever sig sårbara och att de inte blir sedda av vårdpersonal, hur språkbruket inom vården kan påverka, sjuksköterskans förhållningssätt gällande vård av personer med övervikt och fetma samt patienternas behov inom vården.

The oral sensory ability in children can be assessed through test of intraoral stereognosis and two-point discrimination. Currently, these two tests are not frequently used in clinical settings, and normative data are not always available. The aim of this study was to establish normative data for these two tests in children aged 5;6 to 7;0 years. Further, intention was to compare the results with respect to age and gender. In total 103 children participated, 49 boys and 54 girls.

My aim in this case study has been to create a method for creature design to test this method in a production and evaluate the results. To achieve this I studied and analyzed the methods of three concept artists and illustrators named James Gurney, Neville Page and Iain McCaig. From the analysis of these artist´s methods, combined with my own personal experience, a new method was formed. To test this method a creature was designed based on directives given by a game design group in the process of creating a table top role playing game in a fictitious world. These directives where given for the creature´s role and its living conditions.

Bakgrund: I Sverige finns det en könsskillnad som visar att flickor mår sämre och har en mer negativ självvärdering jämfört med pojkar. Självbilden är en stark bidragande orsak till barns psykiska hälsa och det finns ett samband mellan barns självbild och attityd till beröring. Metod: Tre enkäter: Jag Tycker Jag Är (JTJÄ), Ben Sira psychological distress (Bspd) och egenformulerade frågor om taktil massage (TM) samlades in bland 93 elever i årskurs sju från en mindre inlandsstad i södra Sverige. Svaren analyserades med oberoende t-test och Pearsons korrelationstest i SPSS 2.0.0. Resultat: Resultatet av ett oberoendet-test visade att det fanns en tendens till könsskillnad i en aspekt avsjälvvärdering (JTJÄ).

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka genom ett test-retest, reliabiliteten hos fem stycken specifika fys- och styrketester för de muskelgrupper, som är mest utsatta i en ambulanssjukvårdares arbete.- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett bellybacktest utan motstånd?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett balanstest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett handstyrketest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett aerobiskt steptest?- Är det en god reliabilitet i ett marklyft i dragmaskin?MetodEtt test och retest utfördes på fem tester, bellybacktest utan motstånd, handstyrketest, aerobiskt steptest, marklyft i drargmaskin och balanstest. Försökspersonerna var 14 stycken, 11 män och 3 kvinnor, samtliga var studenter vid GIH i Stockholm.ResultatVarken bellybacktestet utan motstånd, handstyrketestet (höger samt vänster hand), aerobiska steptestet eller marklyftet i dragmaskinen visar några slumpmässiga eller systematiska statistisk signifikanta skillnader. Balanstestet däremot har bra värden på t-testet (p=0,89), som visar att det inte finns några systematiska signifikanta skillnader, men låga värden på övriga uträkningar som visar på de slumpmässiga skillnaderna.SlutsatsSamtliga tester med undantag från balanstestet har hög reliabilitet. Balanstestet visar mindre tillförlitlighet än de övriga fyra testerna, vilket även tidigare forskning visar.

Utskrivningssamtalet är den sista kontakten mellan läkare och patient innan patienten åker hem ifrån avdelningen. Syftet med den föreliggande studien är att undersöka ifall det förligger kommunikativa utmaningar i ett utskrivningssamtal mellan en läkare och en patient med afasi.  Den konkreta frågeställningen för studien var hur de potentiella problem som uppkom i samtalet hanterades och vilket utrymme som skapades för patientens deltagande i samtalet samt hur samtalsdeltagarna använde sig av icke-verbal kommunikation för att uppnå förståelse. Den valda metoden för att undersöka detta var Conversation Analysis, CA.I studien deltog två läkare, två patienter med afasi, samt två närstående till patienterna. Patienterna som deltog hade mild till måttlig afasi, svenska som modersmål och var 50 år och 70 år gamla.

Det här är en studie i om bilder i dataspel kan förändra uppfattningen om antalet ljudsekvenser som spelas upp. Faktorerna som har ändrats i varje test är förhållandena mellan antalet ljudsekvenser och antalet bildobjekt som presenteras. Flera olika ljud skapades till undersökningen, som skiljde sig i karaktär i syfte av att ge mer nyanserade resultat. 20 personer gjorde test där de fick lyssna på ljud med och utan koppling till bilder. De blev sedan tillfrågade hur många ljudkällor de kunde höra.

AimThe aim of this study was to develop and perform a reliability test of a questionnaire regarding side dominance in order to identify the dominant/non-dominant side in students at the Swedish alpine ski high school.MethodA questionnaire of side dominance of the upper and lower extremity was developed, and its reliability was tested according to the test-retest design. A total of 121 subjects answered the questionnaire twice. The questionnaire included five questions about side dominance, i.e. what hand/arm or foot/leg (left /right) that one prefers to use as a first choice when writing, throwing, kicking a ball, jumping over a fence and stair climbing. Furthermore, there was a question whether the responder has a safer/better ski turn to the left or to the right.

The focus of this thesis is primarily in electronic construction and describes the design process for a microcontroller circuit board from concept development to prototyping. The client develops test fixtures for automated testing of products within the electronics industry and needs a new controller circuit for the test fixtures that can handle controls and basic testing. An investigation into the needs of such a system is conducted and a prototype printed circuit board assembly is manufactured.The prototype is developed with focus on protection against electrostatic discharges and overvoltage. Among the functions that are included are voltage measurements, communication interfaces and control of input and output currents. Firmware for the prototype is developed and configured to communicate with a PC through USB interface for control and collecting of measurements..

In this thesis I will propose and test a pipeline for creating in-game animations using motion capture technology, with the aim to export to a 3D game engine, such as UDK or similar. Even though there are already established pipelines for creating in-game animations in the game industry, they are not of public knowledge and dissemination of information is hindered by the severe NDA (non-disclosure agreements) imposed on the studios and artists. I will therefore use my experience with game production and as a student, to research and propose an optimal pipeline for developing in-game animation that may be used by other students, researchers and independent game developers. The methodology used to test the pipeline will be a case study based on the student project Synergy, which I am developing with other third year students also attending the Game design Education at Gotland University..

The following essay is a study of the theatre-play Min Arm, a translation and performance by Per Lasson for Fria Teatern in Stockholm 2009-2010. Actor, director and playwright Tim Crouch wrote the original script My Arm in English in 2003.With basis in intermedial theory, as defined by Jörgen Bruhn, as well as Hans-Thies Lehmann?s theory on post-dramatic theatre this study investigates the meaning-building processes in Min Arm as a theatrical performance. Concepts of the difference between stage play and performance text are borrowed from and inspired mainly by Eli Rozik?s Generating Theatre Meaning.

The aim of this study was to increase our understanding of how secondary schools handle the different forms of bullying in different arenas. The questions we were asking us was how schools work to prevent and treat against bullying based on plans of action, how the schools are responsible in the bullying issues and how the schools and welfare officers have taken account of sex linkage in bullying issues. Our study is based on the result from seven qualitative semi- structured interviews with secondary school welfare officers in Sweden.  The study results show that traditional form of bullying takes place through verbal assault, physical violence, ostracism and glances. Welfare officers coincide that there are gender differences in the approach of bullying.

Background: Examinations with the intent to assess neurological functions and level of conciousness are common in neurocritical care, but the effect on the patient is not entirely researched.Aim: The purpose of this study was to describe the patient?s situation at the neurological wake-up test concerning the environment, nursing interventions and the possibility given the patient to become awake, and if these conditions affect the outcome of the wake-up test.Methods: A quantitative observational study took place at a neurocritical care unit, where 20 patients were observed from interruption of sedation to the neurological assessment, which was performed by a neurosurgeon or a specialized critical care registered nurse. Nursing interventions, environmental factors and physiological parameters were documented.Result: Twelve intervention varieties to control patients? physiological parameters were used. CPP > 80 mmHg was found in 90 % of observations.
