The purpose of our research was to examine whether the acceptance and diffusion of RFID technology among the employees at public libraries in Sweden, follow the classic diffusion of innovation model. RFID or Radio Frequency Identification, is a technology that uses radio frequency and microchip technology to track items, in our case, library books and other library materials. Diffusion is the process by which, in our case, the RFID technology is adopted by the library staff. The purpose of this study was to examine what factors influenced the acceptance and adoption of RFID among the library staff. We used Everett Rogers' Diffusion of innovation theory as our framework.

The aim for this study was to investigate, analyze and compare the way Sweden's main five news outlets portray and frame Swedish supporter culture surrounding football. In order to do so we formulated four research questions, all with the purpose to operationalize both the questions and the theories into data and results. The questions reads as follows: 1. What are the dominant portrayals in Swedish news outlets presentation of supporter culture? 2.

The aim of this paper is two-fold. Firstly, it is the production of a historical and chronological narrative describing the development of the Swedish Red Cross Hospital in Pusan during the years 1950-58. Secondly, it is the investigation of the objectives and aspirations of the organisations and institutions involved and how they affected how the hospital developed during the wartime years and up until the inauguration of the Scandinavian educational hospital, the National Medical Centre, in Seoul. Shortly after the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 Sweden, a neutral nation, offered to send a contingent for the establishment of a 200 bed mobile field hospital which was to be subjected to the command of the Eighth US Army in Korea. In the end a larger semimobile evacuation hospital was set up in Pusan where both UN soldiers and PoWs were treated, and it came to be known as the Swedish Red Cross Hospital. The decrease in and finally the cessation of hostilities in 1953 opened up for treatment of Korean civilian patients and such work was conducted not only at the Swedish hospital but all over Pusan, though initially it was not formally sanctioned by American and UN authorities.

Det övergripande syftet med denna uppsats har varit att belysa normer och värderingar i socialtjänstens arbete med barn, detta genom att problematisera olika föreställningar om barns behov och föräldraskap samt utredarens roll i barnavårdsutredningar. Jag ställde mig frågan, hur ser egentligen barnavårdsutredningar ut i sken av rådande samhällsmoral och socialpolitik? Vilka föreställningar om barns behov, föräldraskap och inte minst utredarens roll bygger egentligen utredningarna på?Jag kan konstatera att det finns en speciell utredningskultur. Vidare har jag funnit att barnets behov avgörs av föräldraförmåga men även att föräldraförmåga bedöms utifrån barnets behov. Jag har också identifierat utredare som omedvetet eller medvetet framstår som neutrala.

Syftet med vår undersökning har varit att se hur grannlandet och dess historia skildras i danska och svenska läroböcker. Vi undersöker även hur bilden av Skåne gestaltas i svenska och danska läroböcker i historia från sekelskiftet 1900 till idag. Vi tittar även närmare på hur läroböckerna förhåller sig till gällande läroplaner. Vi har i vår undersökning kommit fram till att den äldsta svenska och den nyaste danska läroboken formulerar ett starkare särskiljande mellan de svenska och danska folken. I flera av böckerna förmedlar man dock en gemenskapskänsla, men talar inte om ett nordiskt folk, utan två skilda folk. De äldre danska läroböckerna har en neutral hållning till Sveriges historia.

This Master's Thesis studies the attitude that library employees have regarding a sex and gender-neutral treatmentof their clients. The analysis is based upon replies to a questionnaire which was submitted though channels directedat library employees, like BIBLIST and BiblFeed. The respondent?s replies contained a number of welldevelopedcomments making the resultant analysis both quantitative and qualitative in nature.In performing the analysis a theoretical framework combining Hirdman?s gender system with symbolic interactionismhas been used together with literature about gender roles.The questionnaire showed that gender neutrality is a complex concept that can be interpreted in many differentways and is therefore easily misunderstood. It is obvious that sex is an important category when respondents aredealing with their clients, but also that sex and gender are problematic concepts which respondents find difficultto know exactly how to relate to.

Personer med dubbla diagnoser har beskrivits som dubbelt utsatta dels beroende på kombinationen av sin sjukdom/funktionshinder och sin beroendeproblemtik, dels för att de befinner sig mellan två huvudmän, socialtjänst och landsting. Inom Tyresö kommun drivs Hästskon boendeenhet, ett varaktigt boende för bostadslösa vuxna personer med dubbla diagnoser. Uppsatsen undersöker Hästskons boendeenhet ur de boendes perspektiv gällande brukarinflytande men även ur Hästskons samverkanspartners perspektiv gällande samverkan för målgruppen personer med dubbla diagnoser. Undersökningen har genomförts med både kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder. Den kvantitativa delen utgörs av en enkätundersökning med de boende på Hästskon, den kvalitativa delen innefattar intervjuer med tre av de boende på Hästskon och med Hästskons samverkanspartners.

Den här uppsatsen behandlar problemen med informationsstruktur samt metaforiskauttryck och ordlekar i en egen skönlitterär översättning från tyska till svenska medlöpande kommentarer. Originalets författare Felicitas Hoppe har ett säreget språkoch använder ofta uttryck som leker med ords mångtydighet, vilket ibland skaparfantastiska och surrealistiska historier. Hennes första verk, novellsamlingen Picknickder Friseure, blev utvalt för översättning och av totalt 20 noveller har åtta översattsom ett sammanlagt sidantal av 16 sidor i målspråksformatet. Därtill har 44 löpandekommentarer gjorts, och uppsatsen fokuserar på de problem som tar upp informationsstrukturoch metaforer.Målet med översättningen var att överföra författarens stil till målspråket. Genomatt förstå metaforerna och ordlekarna utifrån källkulturen har de överförts med semantiskoch formell ekvivalens så långt det varit möjligt.

Syftet med min uppsats var att undersöka och jämföra den bild av muslimska kvinnor som har förmedlats och förmedlas av svenska läromedel i religionskunskap för gymnasiet de två senaste årtiondena. Jag ville ta reda på om, och i sådant fall hur bilden av muslimska kvinnor som förmedlas av böckerna har ändrats sedan terrorattentaten mot New York 11/9 2001. Målet med min uppsats var att försöka få fram data som synliggör om det eventuellt var så att den ökande islamofobin i samhället även har letat sig in i skolans läroböcker.Efter att ha undersökt texterna i böckerna så skulle jag bestämt vilja hävda att den ökande islamofobin i samhället efter 11/9 inte motsvaras av det som står i böckerna. Jag har inte kunnat hitta något som tyder på att läroböckerna har tagit en mer fördomsfull riktning efter 11/9. Istället så tyder min analys på att böckerna efter 11/9 är betydligt mer nyanserade och har en mer neutral och objektiv hållning till materialet än vad de tidigare böckerna har.

The aim of this study was to determine to what degree the framing of the political party the Sweden Democrats had changed in swedish media, from 2010 in contrast to 2012. Particular interest was directed towards the framing of the party as a problem.This was done by studying the news articles during 12 weeks in 2010, and 12 weeks in 2012, in the newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen. These particular newspapers were especially interesting to study since they have been outspokenly critical of the party. Both of the newspapers can be said to be among the most clearly critical towards the Sweden Democrats.I studied 256 published articles retrieved through the news database Newsline. Quantitative content analysis was used to determine patterns and tendencies.

This Masters thesis examines the position of films in Swedish public libraries. We have, by way of comparing various statistical data, determined that the status of film in public libraries is week. We have completed earlier research by mapping what genealogical, discursive patterns that could be outlined in the Swedish government reports from 1949 until today, focussing on the activity goals and media policy of the public library. We have, on the basis of Foucaults theories on genealogy and archaeology, where text documents are considered to be meta-descriptions giving each other authority, analyzed if there any discursive excluding or contextual formulations exist in the usage of the language concerning the goals and the media attitude of public libraries. We have mapped contextual discursive formulations that to the commissioners have become neutral starting points for their assumptions and conclusions.

This essay points at the importance of public libraries as arenas of meetings between refugees and the local population, and by this - creating social kapital in the society as a whole. The researchers Aabø, Audunson and Vårheim have created theories about low-intensive meeting places, that means ? neutral, public places where accidential meetings with different strangers can happen, which can create social capital and trust among each other. To complement these theories I also use Vårheim who have implementet social capital-theories to the sphere of public libraries. These two theories complement each other and can help me investigate two public libraries in a rural area in Sweden.

Summary:Teenage girls? choice of dropping out or complete a treatment.The purpose of this study is to investigate, from a client?s perspective, why teenage girls (age 13 to 17) drop-out or complete a treatment at Familjehuset in Karlstad, Sweden. We also want to investigate if the teenage girls? experiences coordinate with the social workers opinion of why the teenage girls choose to drop-out or complete the treatment. Earlier research shows that many factors influence the client?s choice.

Edsbyverken Office Furniture has over the past 100 years been producing delicate carpentry products, chairs and skiis, but more recently the focus has shifted to furniture for the modern office environment. With a wide selection of products and its characteristic neutral design, Edsbyverken has an extensive group of clients both in Sweden and internationally. The aim of my C level thesis project was to examine the materials Edsbyverken is currently using in order to develop new designs or product functions. Simultanesously, I also wanted to verify whether the method I developed for this project - to initially undertake a comprehensive study of the chosen materials and thereafter specialise on a certain product and target audience ? was effective and successful.

People working with handling parcels in terminals are often victims of musculoskeletal injuries. This is largely due to the hazardous lifting of too many parcels which are too heavy and unsuitable work postures. The human body?s ability to lift and grasp objects is so outstanding that developing a device with the same capability is very difficult.The goal of the project has been to develop a technical device that will improve the handling of parcels with regard to ergonomics. The area of concern was the lifting of parcels between the conveyor belt and the cargo space of the freight car.
