Sleep has a substantial effect on health status where good sleeping habits proves positive on learning. The aim of the present study was to map the views and perceptions of sleep and its effects on health and school performance on 12-year olds. The goal is to visualize these views to give teachers the possibility to better plan the education in concordance with the students? abilities. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews where 12 students aged 12 have partaken.

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den vanligaste cancersjukdom bland kvinnor i Sverige och i världen. Mellan 15 och 20 kvinnor insjuknar varje dag. Att få beskedet bröstcancer skapar förde flesta förvirring, ångest och chock såväl hos den som är sjuk som hos de som står den drabbade kvinnan nära. De förändringar som uppstår i samband med sjukdomen och de olika behandlingarna har stor inverkan på kvinnornas självkänsla och upplevelse av hälsa. Syftet: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att beskriva kvinnors upplevelse av att leva med bröstcancer.

För personal i kriminalvården är det av central betydelse, både ur ett behandlings- och säkerhetsperspektiv, att känna till orsak och verkan för olika former av destruktiva beteenden bland intagna i fängelser. Det finns forskning som tyder på att en förhållandevis stor grupp klienter begår negativa handlingar för att de är oroliga att de kommer mobbas av andra intagna. Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka om ökad hotupplevelse i kombination med en ineffektiv förmåga att hantera det upplevda hotet på kan predicera oro för att bli utsatt för mobbning bland intagna på en kriminalvårdsanstalt. I uppsatsen undersöks också vilka copingstrategier som intagna anser vara mest hjälpsamma vid oro för mobbning, och huruvida deras val av copingstrategi understöds av andra intagnas förväntningar om hur man bör handla när man riskerar bli mobbad. Trettioen deltagare från en kriminalvårdsanstalt deltog i undersökningen.

During the last two decades, temporary staffing has been the fastest growing industry in Sweden. The latest development within this industry is the integration of third-party providers of temporary staffing. Client organizations outsource the process of recruiting temporary workers to intermediaries with procurement management expertise. The concept is called Vendor Management Services (VMS) and aims to standardize decision-making and lower costs through improved efficiency. However, studies have shown that VMS intermediary functions have negative impact on placement matching.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur gymnasielärare i idrott och hälsa upplever sinarbetssituation och hur de nyexaminerade lärarna gör för att hantera den. Studiensfrågeställningar var: Vilka stressorer upplever lärare i idrott och hälsa i yrket? Hur hanterarlärarna i idrott och hälsa dessa stressorer? Vilka skillnader och likheter finns det mellannyexaminerade lärare i idrott och hälsa och de med mer erfarenhet i hur de hanterar dessastressorer? Upplevs arbetssituationen bli bättre efter en längre tid i yrket?Metod: Metoden som användes var en kvalitativ metod genom intervjuer, eftersom individensverklighet, det vill säga det upplevda, var av centralt intresse. Studien utgår från 8 styckenhalvstrukturerade intervjuer där fyra respondenter har mindre än två års erfarenhet i läraryrketoch fyra stycken har minst 7 års erfarenhet. Samtliga intervjuer har spelats in på en diktafonoch sedan transkriberats.

AbstractBackground: Inflammatory bowel disease involves major changes where psychological and physical stress becomes a part of ones daily life. The ability to adapt and cope well with the situation, increases the chances of feeling satisfied with life. There are various management strategies that people with IBD use to cope with their daily life.Aim: The aim of this study is to describe strategies that people with inflammatory bowel disease use to manage their daily lives. A further purpose is to describe the study group in the included articles.Method: A descriptive literature review. This study is based on 12 scientific articles, searched in the databases Cinahl and Pubmed.

The calculations in this thesis are evaluating the profit as a consequence from treating young stands of pine in Sweden with birch bark extract, BBE. Treatment is to be done with the object to lower or fully reduce the moose browsing on pine. The study is made in three versions. The results from each version separately will follow below. Version I.: The size of the moose population is in no way affected by the reduced resources of food as a consequence of large scale treatment with BBE on pine. Results show profit at a 3 percent level of interest with the exception of treatment program with more than 4 treatments all together and with the exception of Västerbottens Län with an early first treatment. Version II.: The population of moose decrease from 10 to 5 individuals per 1000 ha as a consequence from large scale treatment with BBE on young pine stands.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att uifrån patienter, närstående och personal belysa de etiska dilemman och svårigheter som kan uppstå vid vård av patienter som får livsuppehållande åtgärder. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie. Litteraturstudien visade att etiska dilemman kunde uppstå vid beslut om att avstå, påbörja eller avsluta livsuppehållande behandling. I de granskade artiklarna framkom att det kunde vara stor skillnad på allmänhetens och sjukvårdens förväntningar på vården. Beslut som togs vid vård i livets slutskede var komplexa både ur ett medicinskt och känslomässigt perspektiv.

Background Adolescents and adults suffering from needle phobia have an unreasonable fear of needles that leads to negative experiences if they do not get the support they need. Negative experiences lead to patients avoiding health care, or these experiences affect important aspects of life. The suffering that a patient experiences may be obvious to some, but others hide it, and then it will be more difficult to detect. The nurse's role is to recognize the suffering and its different reactions in order to alleviate and prevent unnecessary suffering of the patient. AimThe purpose of this study was to describe about young people's and adults' experiences of having needle phobias.

My paper, ?Us and Them ? an analysis of the creation of ?the Other? in The Reluctant Fundamentalist and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas?, aims to examine Mohsin Hamid´s and John Boyne´s novels from the years 2007 and 2008. The paper tries to answer the following questions: How is ?the Other?and?Us and Them?created in the novels? And: What consequences does the thinking in terms of ?the Other?and?Us and Them?lead to in the novels? The examination is done through the method of close reading and by applying the theory of Orientalism and Edward W. Said?s analysis of the theory to the reading.It is, I believe, of utmost importance for teachers to create unity among their pupils, and peaceful and democratic classrooms where co-work is promoted.

The purpose of this degree project is to clarify how five Kenyan Life Skills teachers discuss about hiv and aids education. Furthermore, to reveal whether the validity claims in their verbal communication refers to facts, morality or personal experiences. This, I will study by examine the teachers knowledge of, and attitudes towards, the disease. The teaching methods they are using and the basis of their validity claims. I have chosen to use semi-structured interviews as method and the theoretical framework is based on Jürgen Habermas theory of universal pragmatics.My result shows that there is a dilemma about whether the respondents knowledge is sufficient or insufficient.

This essay will discuss consumption as a strategy for creating one?s identity for persons with visible disabilities. Along with this, questions asked and answered are concerning how lack of inclusion in the fashion industry affects the informants? consumption of clothes and how the informants discuss identity in relation to their disability. Compulsory able-bodiness (McRuer, 2006) is a main theory that will influence both the discussion and the results.

Background: The amount of elderly patients who?s suffering from dementhia increases every year. Many of these patients develop and decrease in their cognitive ability. The development can lead to people's communication skills deteriorate. It can be a problem for the nurse to communicate with these patients.

BarnOPAC is a Swedish library interface for children. It was launched in public libraries in Sweden in 2001 and has now become a part of library software equipment in several public libraries. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate the interface BarnOPAC on the basis of the childrens perspective. The questions raised consider: how children experience and handle this interface, how library staff experience it and what viewpoints librarians have on childrens use of it. For this purpose we implemented a user study including eight children using the interface in a school library.

Syftet med studien var att jämföra skattad hanteringsförmåga och hälsorelateradlivskvalitet hos närstående till personer med kronisk hjärtsvikt och stroke. Ett annat syfte var också att studera om samband fanns mellan hanteringsförmågaoch hälsorelaterad livskvalitet.  Metod: En komparativ och korrelativdesign med kvantitativ ansats användes. För att mäta hanteringsförmåga ochhälsorelaterad livskvalitet användes Jalowiec Coping Scale (JCS) och Shortform- 36 (SF- 36). Urvalsgruppen för studien var närstående till patienter med kronisk hjärtsvikt och stroke (n = 46).
