Bakgrund: Långvarig smärta i nacke, skuldra eller ländrygg är komplexa tillstånd som kan leda till fysiska och psykiska påfrestningar samt försvåra det dagliga livet för drabbade individer. Den vanligaste metoden för att minska smärta är att använda farmakologiska preparat men det finns en risk att dessa kan ha negativa biverkningar. Akupunktur är en komplementär behandlingsmetod med ursprung från kinesisk medicin som även blivit godkänd inom svensk sjukvård och kan användas som komplement till farmakologiska medel. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva effekten av akupunktur hos individer med långvarig smärta i nacke, skuldra eller ländrygg. Metod: En litteraturöversikt med kvantitativ ansats har använts som metod för att besvara syftet.

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. This thesis aims to point out the critical factors behind successful business development processes for high technology companies. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Internal and external actors that are important for business development have been identified and interviewed in order to understand how ideas are developed and executed.

BAKGRUND: Varje dag möter sjuksköterskor vuxna patienter med stickrädsla eller nålfobi. Detta är ett problem som behöver belysas mer. Rädslan för nålar kan medföra ett flertal konsekvenser för individen. Bland annat kan personen komma att undvika sjukvården vilket kan innebära hälsorisker. SYFTE: Syftet är att belysa upplevelsen hos vuxna patienter med stickrädsla eller nålfobi samt hur sjuksköterskan kan bemöta och stödja dessa patienter.

This essay deals with the individual collecting of four individuals with different backgrounds and lives. The essay investigates what, how and why people collect. It provides a stepping-stone in moving closer to understanding one, in human nature, deeply rooted phenomenon - collecting.The essay is based on a list of questions made by the Nordic Museum in Stockholm. It also includes in-depth examinations of four person?s passion of collecting, in which four individuals were interviewed: a pig collector, a collector of Mickey Mouse items, a multi-collector of objects from other cultures and one collector of items related to the artist Madonna.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the term equableness in the Swedish elementary school with a take-off point in the free school reform from 1992. This essay starts with the political background of the terms equableness and freedom of choice and the official governmental guidelines. Research from Bo Malmberg and Gabriel Sahlgren act as a framework for the whole essay as their theories are tested. The main problem is presented as the question: is the debated concern regarding a lowered equableness since 1992 justifiable? Both researchers define equableness as a difference in grades but undertake a collective versus a more individual approach.

The tribo system ice-curling stone was investigated in order to understand the mechanisms behind the stones' behavior on the ice sheet. The problem with non-identical stones should also be addressed.The stone curls, that is, its sliding path deviates from a straight line to the right for a clock-wise rotation and to the left for a anti-clock-wise rotation. Several mechanisms to explain this behavior have been proposed over the years but none has been successful.By carrying out experiments at the local curling rink and studying silicon castings of ice- and stone-surfaces with scanning electron microscopy and vertical scanning interferometry, it has been decided that the curl is not due to dry friction, ice-debris or the difference in friction on the left and right side of the stone. The side force comes from the fact that the friction is higher at the back of the stone than at the front.The contact between stone and ice is never completely dry, nor in the hydrodynamic lubrication regime. It is probably a combination of hydrodynamic lubrication and a contribution from mechanical scratching of the ice.

ABSTRACTBackground: Endometriosis is a chronic disease where the tissue, that the uterus contains,also can be found outside the uterus.The objective of the study was to investigate young women?s experience of endometriosisand how they experience the care.Method: Fourteen young adults were asked to participate and eight of them did participate.They were all in the range of age 14-20 and they all had had contact with a unit forendometriosis in Sweden. Semai-structured interview was chosen as the data collectionmethod. An interview guide was used during the interviews. For the analysis aphenomenological method with focus upon experiences was used.Results: The result showed that the young adults? experiences in the daily living containedpain, alienation, tiredness and side effects.

SAMMANFATTNINGBuksmärtor är en av de vanligaste orsakerna till att människor söker sjukvård. Historiskt sett har smärtlindring till patienter med buksmärta varit restriktiv. Otillräcklig smärtlindring kan bero på rädsla för att smärtlindrande läkemedel ska dölja viktiga kliniska tecken som kan leda till diagnostiska svårigheter.Syfte: Att undersöka i vilken omfattning ambulanssjuksköterskan smärtlindrar patienter med buksmärta, i vilken utsträckning patienter smärtskattas samt om det föreligger någon skillnad mellan män och kvinnor när det gäller administrering av smärtlindrande läkemedel och omfattning av smärtskattning prehospitalt.Metod: En retrospektiv jämförande deskriptiv journalgranskning med kvantitativ ansats. Ett konsekutivt urval gjordes och sammanlagt granskades 200 journaler, varav 100 omfattade kvinnor och 100 omfattade män.Resultat: 21 % (n=42) av patienterna smärtlindrades. Det fanns ingen statistisk signifikans som visade att kvinnor och män smärtlindrades i olika omfattning.

Bedömning av smärta hos icke kommunicerbara patienter är en utmaning för intensivvårdssjuksköterskan. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur sjuksköterskor uppger att de bedömer smärta hos denna patientgrupp. En deskriptiv och jämförande tvärsnittsstudie gjordes med hjälp av en webbaserad enkät. Enkäten distribuerades till alla kliniskt verksamma intensivvårdssjuksköterskor (n=96, svarsfrekvens 75%) på två intensivvårdsavdelningar på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala.De smärtparametrar som sjuksköterskorna ansåg viktigast var pulsstegring, blodtrycksstegring och mimik/ansiktsuttryck. Påbyggnadsutbildning eller uppdrag inom smärtområdet hade ingen signifikant betydelse för vilka smärtparametrar sjuksköterskorna uppgav som viktigast.

Bakgrund: Långvarig muskuloskeletal smärta är ett vanligt problem i Europa och patienter upplever att deras liv påverkas negativt av smärtan. Det finns en korrelation mellan långvarig smärta och psykisk ohälsa som till exempel nedstämdhet, oro och ångest. Med ett biopsykosocialt synsätt ser man helheten av personen och en biopsykosocial multiprofessionell rehabilitering är fördelaktig.Syfte: Undersöka vilka tankar och förväntningar patienter med långvarig smärta har inför och under rehabilitering.Metod: Examensarbetet är en systematisk litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats. 6 kvalitativa studier har kvalitetsgranskats, analyserats och sammanställts för att beskriva patienters tankar och förväntningar inför och under rehabilitering.Resultat: Studiernas deltagare upplevde psykosociala faktorer som oro och rädsla. Vikten av stöd och uppföljning och av att bli trodd och tagen på allvar upplevs också som viktiga faktorer.

The main purpose of this essay is to investigate the legal position for employers concerning protection against what employees can express about one?s employer in social media.It may regard dissatisfaction concerning employment, tort or so-called whistleblowing. The spread through social media may be comprehensive and thus cause more damage to the employer.Employees within the public sector as well as in the private are protected by the liberty of speech, which is constitutional, even the protection of sources or the right to criticize can offer some protection. This gives the employees the possibility to widely express themselves in private social media as long as it can?t be classified as a violation, which per se is very rare.However, certain differences between the both sectors will be pointed out.There are still no constitutional rights regarding social media, but a grey area has emerged concerning the legal position.

Idag lever cirka 40-65% av Sveriges befolkning med kronisk smärta. Påverkan av kronisk smärta på en persons livsstil varierar, en del ser smärtan som en olägenhet i vardagen medan andra upplever att smärtan påverkar varje aspekt av livet. Det är inte lätt att behandla kronisk smärta då variationer på smärtan är många och diagnosen ofta är osäker. Alternativa metoder för att behandla smärta blir allt vanligare och en sådan metod är mindfulness. Syftet med studien var att beskriva den samlade kunskapen kring mindfulness verkan hos personer med kronisk smärta.

Dogs presenting with vomiting and abdominal pain, are common patients at the small animal clinic, and the reason for these symptoms can have various aetiologies. One common reason for these symptoms is obstruction of the small intestine caused by a foreign body. Obstruction of the small intestine is best diagnosed by using radiography, contrast-study if needed, and ultrasound. To avoid further examinations, diagnosis from plain radiographs is preferable. One of the signs of illness one can detect from these examinations is a dilation of the small intestine proximal of the obstruction, caused by gas or fluid; ileus.

The purpose of our research was to explore the social situation of unaccompanied children. We also aimed to reveal the relation between their social situation and their identity development. The overall purpose were to describe their social situation, the value of significant others, how different languages influence their identity development and finally how their origin affects their future dreams.In order to achieve the best result in our research a qualitative method was used. This was based on qualitative interviews and was disposed around a very loose set of questions in order to let the interviewees lead the way. The analysis of the result was conducted on the basis of a set of theories and concepts in order to understand the identity development.

The intention of this essay was to describe and analyse the participant's experience in a work project based on a holistic model.
