AbstractIn the literature on multiculturalism and group rights there is a strong tradition that sees diversity as something directly paradoxal to unity. In this tradition, scholars put forward a view of multiculturalism as a divisive and exclusionary process which breaks down the cohesion and unity of society. Related to this notion is that of a neutral and universally valid frame of reference in which political dilemmas can be solved; for example a neutral civil sphere where the ?true essence? of society lies. In this essay I attempt to criticise these two notions.

Barn som bevittnar våld mellan föräldrarna i hemmet riskerar att utveckla psykisk ohälsa, däribland traumasymptom. Hur barnets symptombildning ser ut beror bland annat på grad av våld men också på barnets anknytning till föräldrarna. Då forskning kring anknytning främst fokuserat på relationen mellan mamma och barn var det huvudsakliga syftet med denna studie att undersöka om barns anknytningstrygghet till respektive förälder har olika samband med barns traumasymptom. Data från 64 barn tillhandahölls från en nationell utvärdering av behandlingar för barn som upplevt våld hemma. Analyser av barnens självskattningar visade att anknytningstrygghet till pappa hade ett negativt samband med depression och att våld i hemmet hade ett negativt samband med dissociation hos barnen, oavsett om de hade bevittnat våldet eller inte.

Introduktion: Från och med januari 2005 ska alla noterade moderbolag inom EU ha anpassat sig till den internationella redovisningsstandarden, IFRS. Syftet med IFRS är att med hjälp av internationella regler skapa en enhetlig, integrerad och mer effektiv europeisk kapitalmarknad. I och med övergången till IFRS är EU nu världens största region med gemensamma redovisningsprinciper. Syftet med studien är att identifiera och klarlägga om merarbete har uppkommit för svenska noterade företag i och med anpassningen till de nya IFRS-standarderna samt att ge en generell bild av posten IAS 19, Ersättningar till anställda.Metod: För att uppnå syftet med vår studie har vi valt att använda oss av en kvalitativ inriktning i form av intervjuer. De fyra företagen som intervjuats finns i Jönköpingsregionen.Teoretisk referensram: Teorin presenteras i tre större avsnitt; harmonisering, IFRS samt IAS 19.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify and understand the difference between Brunius?, Zettervall's and Graebe's valueing of a historical building, the cathedral of Lund. Between 1833 and 1963 the cathedral of Lund went through three larger restorations. The character of the restorations however differs a lot between the three church architects, Brunius, Zettervall and Graebe. In a time of low interest for the Middle Ages and of many demolitions of churches in the countryside, Brunius stood out as a researcher and an enthusiast of that special time.

Roseroot (R. rosea L.) has gained more attention the last years, mainly because of its phy-topharmacologic properties. Even though many reports in roseroot have been published, only a few articles are dealt with the genetic diversity. The Nordic Genetic Resource Center has collected Roseroot material from Sweden, Greenland and Faroe Islands under different expeditions. The samples were analysed to study the genetic diversity study.

Ill health takes different expressions during different periods in life and habits during the early years affect the health during the rest of the lifetime. Bronfenbrenners ecological systems theory has been used as a theoretical starting point in this cross-sectional study. The aim of this study was to identify differences in self-rated health and health-related factors between boys and girls and between the compulsory school and the upper secondary school in Sundbyberg municipality as a basis for the planned activity in the Young Women?s shelter in Sundbyberg, as well as in other municipalities A questionnaire consisting of 24 questions based on different variables has identified disparities in health and health-related factors between boys and girls in Sundbyberg municipality (n=323). This paper found pronounced differences between the sexes in terms of sex and relationships, security, emotional support and psychosomatic complaints.

How is the identity of Swedish diplomats affected by living a very international life, regularly moving from one place to another, while their main task is to represent Sweden at all times? How does the national identity relate to the professional and the international identity and what role does the context play in this process? These are the questions asked in this thesis. By interviewing 39 Swedish diplomats and by comparing the responses of the interviews and the theories applied, this thesis will show that it is the context, rather than the time spent abroad that changes their identities and not the least their perspectives of the world. The theories concern intersectional identities, nationalism, context and globalisation. It is from the point of view that identities are constructed and therefore changeable.The diplomats gain a greater awareness of their Swedish identity, wider and deeper perspectives of what it means to be Swedish, but also the advantages that other cultures have to offer.

AbstractThis report has been developed in cooperation with Peab Region Bostad Göteborg, mentor at Krook& Tjäder (through Chalmers), and examiner at Chalmers University of Technology. The report is the result of a research of a building project, constructed by Peab. The report is investigating and it means to identify and evaluate qualities in the dwelling and its surroundings. Its purpose is to evaluate how the residents in a chosen housing cooperative enjoy living there. It shall, with help of chosen quality aspects, identify what expectations the residents had before moving in, how they experience the dwelling and its surroundings today, and what hopes they have for the future planning of the area.

Barns behov, ekonomi och politik är det som utgör innehållet i den allmänna debatten i media kring de pedagogiska verksamheternas hantering av resurser. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka pedagogers uppfattningar om resurser och dess fördelning i förskola och skola. Undersökningen har genomförts med tre kvalitativa fokusgruppsintervjuer med sammanlagt tolv deltagare från fem olika pedagogiska verksamheter i Östergötland. Intervjuerna har sammanställts, analyserats och jämförts med en teoretisk översikt där litteratur samt nationell och internationell forskning inom området behandlats. Undersökningen visar att det är pedagogen själv, tillsammans med arbetslaget, som är den största resursen, samt att det finns resurser i verksamheterna som är outnyttjade på grund av pedagogernas bristande tid, kompetens och engagemang.

It is essential to reuse- and recycles residues to decrease the amount of deposit materials and reach sustainable energy use. Two ways to work towards this is to recycle wood ashes to the forest as nutrient compensation and extract biogas from combustion of biomass.The aim with this study was to decide whether wood ashes that been used for biogas upgrading with accelerated carbonation also can be used as a nutrient compensation in the woods according to recommendations from the Swedish Forest Agency (Skogsstyrelsen).The ashes that were used in this study came from Johan Andersson who works at JTI in Uppsala, who also treated the ashes with biogas. The ashes have, in both untreated and treated condition, been analyzed in this study according to contents of elements, leaching properties, hardening properties and contents of crystalline phases, to evaluate what impact carbonation with biogas has on the ashes.The accelerated carbonation led to hardening of the ash, and decreased amount of CaO- and increased amount of CaCO3. The CO2-uptake also entails a dilution of the elements, and the content of nutrients and trace elements decreases. However the results show an indication of an uptake of S from the biogas to the ash, since the dilution had a smaller impact on S than the rest of the elements.

Denna studie utreder hur reklamfilmsproducenter anpassar sina produktioner för att de ska vara effektiva på en allt mer konkurrensintensiv reklammarknad. Enligt radio- och TV-lagen får svenska TV-kanaler idag sända tolv minuter reklam per timme, samma regler som gäller för till exempel TV3, Kanal 5 och TV6 som sänder från Storbritannien. Studien utgår fra?n en förstudie av den svenska TV-reklammarknaden där det bland annat observerades att den totala reklamtiden, inklusive reklam fo?r kanalens egna program,i ett fall uppgick till hela 26 procent av den totala sändningstiden. För annonsörer och reklaminköpare kan den ökade mängden reklam innebära ett försämrat genomslag och ökade kostnader för att nå ut med sitt budskap till samma mängd mottagare som för några år sedan.

This is a paper about the process of creating meaning in speeches held by president Bush after the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001. People need tools to orient and understand the surrounding world. They need to create a meaningful orientation in a chaotic world. Some meaning is favoured due to the prevailing social structures. Thru language discourses are produced that helps us understand how the world is constructed.

Political marketing has changed the way political parties internationally behave in relation to the voters. The purpose of this study was to investigate how political marketing is conducted on a local level in Swedish political parties, and how the local and national level of the political parties coordinate the message they send out to the voters. An explorative study was performed by interviewing experts in the field in the form of politicians on both a local and a national level. Initially the local parties' methods were investigated, followed by a second stage where we researched the link between parties on the local and the national level. Marketing of parties on a local level turned out to a large extent to follow traditional methods.

Bakgrund: Patienter i behov av intensivvård är även i behov av en plats av lugn och ro för läkning. Intensivvården är en miljö som utsätter patienter för frekventa stimuli dygnet runt. För att få möjlighet till både fysisk och psykisk läkning krävs fullständig sömn. Intensivvårdspatienter har mer ytlig sömn på grund av att sömnrytmen ofta är störd. Genom att vila mitt på dagen i sammanhängande 90 minuter kan individen kompensera för en otillräcklig nattsömn.

Introduction: HR departments have been developed to take care of the organizations most important resource: the human being. HR as a function has however faced criticism claiming that the function does not entail any value to organizations. The rest of the organization often have a hard time understanding what HR?s daily work means and thereof not having a clear image of the function?s purpose or the function?s role in the organization Aim: The purpose of this study is to describe the relationship between the organization's view of the HR department (image) and the HR department's image of themselves (identity) in order to create a greater understanding of how the HR function successfully can be a well-functioning resource in an organization's overall business. Methodology: The study was conducted in the form of a case study. We have approached the issues by taking different perspective into account, which includes HR, managers and employees.
