Syftet med detta examensarbete är att ta fram ett förslag på ett ventilationssystem som skulle kunna fungera i byggnaden. The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate how a public library should sign and organize their resources to make them as accessible as possible to the users of the library. Our theory, Paul Arthur?s and Romedi Passini?s wayfinding theory, is about how people search through information loaded environments. Our empirical material consists mainly of three parts: an inventory of the resources and guiding at Hammarö bibliotek, eight interviews with visitors at Hammarö bibliotek and observations of how visitors use and interact with the library, its resources and guiding.

The aim of my master?s thesis has been to examine the situation of the price lists in the National Library of Sweden, in Uppsala University Library and in the Nordiska Museet Library. The starting point was that the institutes have been operating within different institutional practices. These operational differences between the institutes have affected the collecting, the organizing and the accessibility to the information of the price lists. My master?s thesis is based on Birger Hjørlands theories of domains and knowledge organization.

The purpose of this essay is to study the film culture in South Africa in a national cinema-context, focusing on the relationship between anti-apartheid film from 1974-1994 and the film in South Africa today. By pitching the South Africa-specific works of Lucia Saks and Jacqueline Maingard against the over-arching debate on national cinema as formulated by, amongst others, Stephen Crofts and Andrew Higson, this study aims to find whether or not a specific South African national cinema have existed, and exists today, or not. The study finds that an underground culture of documentaries and short films made by and for the black population has been in place since the apartheid, and the distribution method on video and television is still being used to reach the black population today. By re-examining the concepts of both the national, and of national cinema to also include film on video and television, the study shows that South Africa has indeed a film culture that can be called a national cinema..

Målet med denna undersökning har varit att ta fram lämpligt bibliotek i programspråket C för generering och parsning av JSON (JavaScript Object Notation). Biblioteket ska användas för att bygga ett nytt API mot Svenska Spels transaktionssystem som ska underlätta för klientutvecklare att anropa systemet. Undersökningen har begränsats till utvärdering två utvalda bibliotek, YAJL (Yet Another Json Library) och Jansson. För att kunna jämföra och analysera dessa har jag implementerat ett testprogram som mäter deras prestanda vid generering och parsning av ett antal utvalda JSON objekt. Jag har även undersökt biblioteken utifrån användarvänlighet och robusthet.

This master's thesis deals with how a school class of 19 students that are 12 years old,perceive the conception of the library and its activities, and how this can be studied by usingfour different approaches: analysis of the children's drawings, analysis of the children'sessays and analysis of their answers to questions in an inquiry and in interviews. Close to the city center of Reykjavik lies the combined national- and university library of Iceland. Usually, these two types of institutions are separated. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the library in fact selects the new digital material to offer the users in Iceland, and if the combined mission creates any problems or conflicts.The investigation examines the planning and the content of the digital library, what user groups are addressed and how the organisation is held together despite the different missions. If cultural context in Iceland makes a difference for what is selected and offered to the users is also discussed.Six informants in strategic library positions dealing with the digital national- or university library, were interviewed. The answers have been analysed in light of the library&information literature on building and maintaining digital library collections and organizational and marketing theory.The main result of the study is that the informants do not see a conflict between the missions of the organisation, although traces of a struggle were found in some areas.

The aim of this study is to describe the characteristics of right-wing populist parties in Europe. The three parties included in the study are the Swedish Democrats (SD), the British National Party (BNP) and the National Front (NF) in France. The study includes a definition of right-wing populism based on previous research and from that an ideal type of a right-wing populist party has been created. The material used in the study to verify how well the parties were consistent to the ideal type and what similarities and differences the parties in the study have are the parties? political programs and policies.

A significant amount of a teacher?s work consists of evaluation and marking of the students, which involves a great responsibility. This essay put the teacher?s evaluation of the students in focus. Today?s course Idrott och hälsa A, at the upper secondary school level, consists of 100 points and all students take this course apart from students attending apprentice programs.

SammanfattningSyftet med den här uppsatsen är att utvärdera tal- och ljudböckers klassifikation på biblioteket, hemsidan och i statistiken och efterfrågan på tal- och ljudböcker. Det bibliotek som utvärderingen har utförts på är Nordmalings bibliotek i Västerbottens län. Utlåningen av tal- och ljudböcker kommer att jämföras med klassifikationen av tal- och ljudböcker. Målet är att hitta förändringar som gör klassifikationen och beslut om beståndet av tal- och ljudböcker enklare för bibliotekarierna. Även efterfrågan på tal- och ljudböcker kommer att undersökas i uppsatsen. För att besvara frågeställningarna användes statistiken från år 2010 på KB:s hemsida samt en egen sökning av formaten på tal- och ljudböcker på den gemensamma hemsidan för Umeåregionens folkbibliotek,www.minabibibliotek.se, som gjordes i november 2011.

The purpose of this essay has been to investigate if the national test results, in the subject of Swedish B at upper secondary school, are affecting a student?s final grade in varied degree among different teachers. The purpose has also been to investigate if the assessment of these tests is equivalent among different teachers. This particular investigation showed that there are big differences between how teachers grade, in relation to achieved results on the national test. According to the Swedish National Agency for Education, the teacher should take all performance information available into consideration for each particular student.
