This report presents a thesis project conducted by two students at Mälardalens högskola. The project covers 15 points in industrial design and was conducted during April to June 2014. The principal of the thesis works at Plastic Produkter. The assignment was to develop equipment for an effective way to dose, mix silicon, fill a special designed plastic bag and then seal it. The bag is then formed into a breast model.When a customer for various reasons decides to do a breast augmentation or a breast reconstruction, there may be doubt or uncertainty about the result.

During the last decennium climate issues have become more and more important. Many steps towards an adaption of efficient energy supply systems have been taken all around the world. These steps have been created to ensure the next generation?s energy demand. In EU and Sweden objectives have been set to ensure that the energy consumption decreases by 20% year 2020 and by 50% year 2050 compared with the energy consumption levels of year 1995.

Consumers seem to become more demanding in their buying behaviour within the fashionmarket. The society refers to individualism, personality and creativity, which affect people?s wayof dressing themselves. Many companies have started to work with aspects that create aconsumer experience to meet the customers? new demands.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen var att diskutera hur 20-30 åringar konsumerar nyheter och hur de skulle vilja konsumera nyheter.Idén till det här arbetet uppkom i samband med att vi upptäckte att SVTs stora nyhetsprogram Aktuellt och Rapport tappade tittare och lockade väldigt få unga konsumenter.  Vi valde en fokusgrupp som vår metod till att undersöka frågeställningarna; Hur konsumerar 20-30 åringar nyheter idag? Hur vill 20-30 åringar konsumera nyheter? Vilka slutsatser kan vi dra av resultatet för att få fram hur SVT borde producera och distribuera sina nyheter till unga vuxna i framtiden? Vi gjorde också en intervju med biträdande programdirektör för nyheter och samhälle på SVT. I den här uppsatsen har vi kommit fram till att SVT har de resurser som behövs för att göra kvalitativa nyheter till de unga. Det svåra är att producera och distribuera nyheter till en generation som lever i konvergenskulturen där all media är i ständig förändring.

Det samhälle vi lever i idag ser inte ut som det gjorde när våra fäder och deras generation växte upp. Utvecklingen har gjort att både globaliseringen och speciellt tekniken som berör information och kommunikation har tagit ett stort steg framåt.Tack vare teknikutvecklingen får många personer tillgång till en ny typ av information. Idag känner flertalet konsumenter till att det förkommer flera olika mer eller mindre farliga kemikalier som finns kvar i de klädesplagg som hänger i butik. En marknad har uppstått med kläder som är miljö- och hälsovänligt tillverkade. En övergriplig och en djupgående konsumentundersökningen har genomförts, samt en konkurrentanalys.

Public concern and the need of responsible way of doing business have brought forward the issue of sustainability at the forefront of discussion in the last decade. Even though, food retailers are playing an important role in the economy, they are exposed for criticism by media and consumers for any socially and environmentally irresponsible business practices because, the potential environmental and social impacts from their operations are significant. These impacts need to be recognized and properly addressed. The main objective of this study was to assess the sustainable business management of a cooperative food retail business in Sweden, known as Konsum Värmland (KV). The necessary data and information on history and status of KV, and its practical activities concerning the implementation of sustainable development programs as well as the motivation and challenges encountered by KV during the implementation were gathered via reviewing different documents, research papers and press releases; interviewing decision makers and other personnel in KV and other researchers from Swedish University of Agricultural University who have investigated KV.

The market for heavy duty engines is constantly requiring engines that should be more andmore powerful, while still maintaining low fuel consumption. As a result of increasing enginepower, the engine and coolant temperature increases as well due to insufficient coolingperformance (because of design issues, cost etc.).Also, emission legislations, both current and future, require more and more measures to betaken by engine manufacturers. One way of meeting the legislations is the use of cooled EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation), which also lead to increased coolant temperatures.Both these factors also naturally lead to increased engine oil temperatures, the consequencesof which are not thoroughly investigated.This thesis project aims to investigate effects of high temperatures on engine oil degradation,with focus on the greatest degradation process: oxidation. To do this several engine runs havebeen performed on a 310 hp engine with EGR to see what happens to the engine oil in a realengine when exposed to high temperatures. During the tests oil samples have been taken andanalysed for important parameters.As a complement to these engine tests some laboratory oxidation testing have also beenperformed, to be able to compare engine test data with laboratory tests.One goal of the project was to try to formulate an empirical oxidation model, which would beable to predict oil oxidation levels in an engine, given any running parameters.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att skapa en förståelse för hur organisationskulturen ser ut och hur rollerna fördelas på en typisk enkönad och mansdominerad arbetsplats, i detta fall en brandstation. Vi använder oss utav åtta kvalitativa intervjuer och en mindre observation för att få en klarare bild av organisationen som sådan. Insamlad empiri analyserar vi utifrån tre för ämnet centrala teoretiska teman. Denna teoretiska referensram behandlar maskulinitet, organisationsteori samt Goffmans dramaturgiska modell. För att uppnå avsatt syfte uppstår ett flertal frågeställningar.

Today green tree retention, together with leaving dead wood, is a common practice with the aim to reduce negative impacts on biodiversity and environment due to clear-felling. To better understand whether this conservation practice also makes a long-term difference, it is important to know what happens to these trees after harvest. Few studies have made an assessment of what happens to retention trees over a longer time period. In this study I inventoried retention trees that were left at clear-cuts six, twelve and eighteen years ago. I carried out a re-inventory of 57 retention patches (divided into free-standing tree groups, small swamp forests and edge zones) and free standing dead trees, spread over 25 previous clear-cuts in central Sweden.

In this thesis a method for evaluating investments in small scale hydro power is presented. An analysis of the future position that small scale hydro production will have on the Nordic electricity market is also carried out. This is done by an inventory of technology and economic and environmental aspects. The inventory is also a guide as to how the project should be implemented.Hydrolyzer is the name of the Excel tool developed to evaluate investments. The tool requests input data from the user and then evaluates the investment and generates a sensitivity analysis.

Många och gamla! - Hur vill 40-talisterna ha sin framtid inom äldreomsorgen?Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka hur fyra informanter, vilka är födda mellan åren 1940 till 1949, ser på sin framtid som eventuellt hjälpbehövande inom äldreomsorgen samt vilka behov, farhågor och förväntningar de har.  För att utföra denna studie har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod med intervjuer, där fyra informanter, två kvinnor och två män deltog. Intresset för studien och framtidens äldreomsorg är stort. Det märktes inledningsvis i studien att många ville få chansen att komma fram och berätta om deras känslor i ämnet.

AbstractThe assignment were assigned by Camatec Industriteknik AB. Camatec is a Karlstadlocated consulting company, they make everything from pilot studies to complete projects in mechanical design and calculation. They even have their own patented product, Camcoil. It is a winder for steel strips and is used for example with hardening of the steel strip. The assignment has been to solve the problems encountered by some customers within this product.

I mina intervjuer visade det sig att samtliga personer utom två inte var rädda för döden. Arlebrink skriver om psykologiska försvarsmekanismer och förnekande. Att döden inte kommer att drabba just mig, är ett exempel på en sådan mekanism.Det är tydligt att vi ser olika på döden beroende på vilken generation vi tillhör men också beroende på vilken erfarenhet vi har av att vara nära döden. Den yngsta intervjupersonen säger att ju yngre vi är desto odödligare tror vi att vi är. Hon tror också att oron blir större när man fått barn, en tankegång som Arlebrink skriver om.

AbstractBackground The importance of establishing well-functioning parent-teacher relationships are clear objectives in the Swedish National Curriculum for Preschools, (Lpfö 98, Lpo 94 & Lgr 11 chapter 1-2). Parental involvement in preschool activities is seen as important for several reasons. Facilitating healthy child development, learning and socialisation are some of these reasons. During the past twenty years Sweden has become a multicultural society. Today, people from more than 170 countries live in Sweden, and about 18% of the population are first or second generation immigrants.

Banker har en fundamental roll i samhället genom att låna ut kapital till företagen för investeringar via kreditgivningsprocessen. Genom sin viktiga intermediära roll får investerare också ett stort ansvar för att jordens resurser förvaltas på ett hållbart sätt. Vi menar att de individer som hanterar handeln av finansiella instrument och beviljar lån till företag därmed även är delaktiga i ansvaret för den miljöpåverkan som deras investeringar orsakar.Det har gjorts många studier inom hållbarhet kopplat till finansiering, och vi vill undersöka hur det ser ut i praktiken i Sverige. Detta kan vara viktigt för företag som söker kreditgivning eller som ska byta ägare. Denna studie avser att undersöka hur bankerna arbetar och hur långt de har kommit med att ta in hållbarhetsaspekter.Vår fråga om hur hållbarhet beaktas är en omfattande fråga som kan innefatta en mängd olika delfrågor.
