AbstractThis study focuses on three generations of Kurdish women's view on honor. The study is a qualitative research based on three individual interviews. The aim of this study is to examine how three generations of immigrant women from a culture of honor is influenced over time by the majority culture and its values together with how these women affect each other mutually both consciously and unconsciously within the family. The study is based on two questions: What does"honor" mean to the three generations of women who are Muslim and Kurdish? Did these three generations of women?s idea of honor change over time as they have lived in Sweden? Results of this study have shown that the concept of honor has its focus on the woman's body, sexuality and chastity.

Mitt syfte med detta arbete har varit att försöka ge en beskrivning över vilken relation den konverterade muslimen i Sverige har till Koranen. Jag har valt att försöka belysa detta genom frågeställningen:Hur tillgodogör sig konverterade muslimer i Sverige Koranen?Arbetet är en kvalitativ fallstudie där jag genom fyra djupintervjuer på ett så brett vis jag förmått försökt omfamna de olika uttryck som relationen tar sig. Intervjuerna redovisas som referat i berättande form, och de föregås av en översiktlig beskrivning av Koranen.Arbetet avslutas med en utvärderingsdiskussion där jag konstaterar att arbetet är ofullständigt då jag ej kunnat belysa den företeelse som frågeställning avser på ett begreppsligt vis. Slutligen så redogör jag för en möjlig fortsättning..

The purpose of the essay is to make North American fundamentalism and Islamism comprehendible on a larger scale.In order to show similarities between these groups when it comes to values, structure and commitment to their tasks, it is important to understand the nature of the religious devotion.Analyzing the similarities of the two groups enables construction of general criteria for how anthropology of religious extremists can be outlined..

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att få kunskap om hur ett antal idrottslärare arbetar vid simundervisning med muslimska flickor och detta för att på så sätt hjälpa mina eventuella framtida muslimska elever att bli simkunniga. Detta eftersom forskning visar att en stor del av eleverna i skolan som inte kan simma är elever med föräldrar från ett annat land eller elever som själva har invandrat. Intervjuerna har genomförts med fem lärare där alla undervisar i idrott och hälsa på mångkulturella skolor i en mellansvensk stad. Samtliga lärare anser att simundervisningen är ett mycket viktigt moment att arbeta med, men ingen av dessa lärare ägnar någon större tid åt att undervisa i simning. Undersökningen visade att simundervisning går bra att utföra även om eleverna är muslimska flickor.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att analysera på vilket sätt den religiösa tillhörigheten influerat sex religiöst troende och praktiserande muslimers resonemang och värderingar kring studie- och yrkesval. Den metod som användes var semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultatet visade respondenternas beskrivningar av hur de praktiserade sin tro i vardagen, vilket gav slutsatsen att islam upplevdes som en livsstil. Vidare visade resultaten att respondenterna upplevde islam som ständigt närvarande, men att det var svårt att urskilja relationen mellan det egna studie- och yrkeslivet och den religiösa tillhörigheten. Samtliga respondenter gav även uttryck för altruistiska värderingar om att bidra till ett bättre samhälle.

The aim of this essay was to determine 1. How Muslims were described in the Sweden Democrats official magazine and 2. What the purpose with their descriptions could be. The material, the SD-Courier was chosen due to it being an official magazine that was easily accessible. A hermeneutic method was used where each article selected was read several times to create a greater understanding for the material and the phenomenon within.

This study examines how the American comic book industry?s output is addressing the issue of Islam and in which manner the portrayal of Islam in the great American comic book universes have changed since 2001. The comic books are examined from the postcolonial perspective as formulated by Chandra Mohanty and the power and resistance-perspective as formulated by Michel Foucault. Examination of the comic books reveals far greater focus on universal values, orthopraxy and inclusive perspectives than it does on dogmatic teachings, orthodoxy and sectarianism while at the same time partly relying on generalizations and archetypes concerning Islam. To change the power balance requires what I call intervention from the objective, that is to say that ambiguity regarding Muslim characters has to be eliminated by the narrative.

Today it is mandatory for every college or university student to pay a union fee to their student?s union. The fee is mandatory and is a payment for writing examinations, receiving grades. The fees purpose is also intended to secure the education quality and student influence. In the presence of the abolishment of the union fee the Swedish student?s unions stand before an uprising competition between themselves and most likely a decrease in membership.

Den kristna kyrkan i väst befinner sig i en brytningstid. Från att ha haft en självklar plats och röst i samhället förlorar man mer och mer mark i ett postmodernt samhälle. Ideologen Stuart Murray analyserar detta skifte inom den neoanabaptistiska tankeströmningen, och detta arbete syftar till att studera hans tankar i ljuset av annan forskning. Ett urval av Murrays kyrkohistoriska, ecklesiologiska och missiologiska böcker har lästs och jämförts med andra författares texter. De tematiska områden som studerats är främst begreppen kristendom, efterkristendom och den västliga kyrkans ecklesiologiska och missiologiska utmaningar.Kristendomstiden präglar Europas kristenhet på många plan.

I och med min kontakt med invandrarungdomar i skolan har jag ställt mig frågan om relationen mellan muslimska tjejer och idrottsutövande. Den kontakt som jag har fått inom skolan med muslimska tjejer och idrott är positiv över lag och detta gör att den bild som media ofta visar med stereotypa bilder av islam inte stämmer. De frågeställningar som belyses i denna undersökning är hur muslimska tjejer ser på idrott och idrottsutövande och om idrottsföreningar gör någonting för att integrera dessa tjejer i sin verksamhet.För att besvara frågeställningarna utgår jag ifrån en intervjustudie med fyra muslimska tjejer. Resultatet av denna undersökning visar att tre av de muslimska tjejerna som blir intervjuade är positiva till ett aktivt idrottsutövande. Samtidigt är det en av tjejerna som säger att hon inte får hålla på med idrott på grund av religionen.
