En Kyrkoträdgård i Staden : ?S:t Petri Sinnenas Trädgård?
En innergård i staden; ett andrum, en plats för eftertanke, en frodig oas, en upplevelse som väcker sinnena, en plats för möten och evenemang. Går det att skapa en sådan, och på endast 200 m2? Det var denna fråga som jag ställde mig när jag först började arbeta med examensarbetet ?En Kyrkoträdgård i Staden?. Och visst går det, men ibland så måste man kompromissa, hitta på egna lösningar eller åtgärda oförberedda problem och svårigheter. Examensarbetet handlar om de val och ställningstaganden som jag gjort under det pågående arbetet med att formge en innergård med temat ?Sinnenas Trädgård? åt S:t Petri församling i Malmö.

The historical aspect is given by a study of bibliographic data in different catalogues of a specific collection. The aim is also to understand what specific problems will arise in the work of cataloguing music materials and how the problems are discussed in the literature. The study is focusing of church music material and the history of churchmusic is therefore given an exposition. The origin of musical notation, which took place within the church, is also discussed.

Aim: The aim for this study of Swedish daily press is to see how the musical reporting is structured for the newspapers I have chosen to analyse. My main purpose is to investigate how the newspapers reporting are distributed between artists who belong to either a major record company or an independent record company. With this research I want to find out if there are any economic backgrounds to the content and if the reporting is equal to the market production.Method/Material: For this study I have studied, by quantitative research, every piece of musical reporting in seven daily newspapers for two weeks. Through thorough research I have determined the belonging of every article?s record company.
Hur fångar man musiken? : Fem olika jazzmusikers tankar och resonemang kring begreppet improvisation
I denna uppsats försöker jag beskriva vad begreppet improvisation innebär inom jazzmusik. Ämnet improvisation är för mig väldigt viktigt, det är ett ämne som jag valt att specialisera mig på i min musikhögskoleutbildning. Min förmåga att improvisera har hjälpt mig i många situationer i livet, framförallt sådana situationer där det gäller att kunna vara flexibel, till exempel spel- eller musikundervisningssituationer. Undersökningen baseras i huvudsak på intervjuer med fem olika svenska jazzmusiker. Jag har kommit fram till att begreppet improvisation är komplext och svårdefinierat.
Estetiska vägar mot språket : En undersökande essä om estetiska lärprocessers påverkan på språkutveckling
My purpose with this essay is to examine the relationship between esthetic learning processes and language development to find good practices in my work with multilingual children. In my report, I describe a few activities from my work as a preschool pedagogue in a multicultural area, with a large group of children where age and knowledge of Swedish varies. The background to this essay is the problems I experienced in my work with children´s language development in an organization that, in my opinion, is limited by economic factors. The questions I poses are about the way esthetic learning processes can help children develop their language skills as well as their participation in preschool activities. I also pose the question whether there is a connection between the musical ear and children´s development of language.

This essay set out to propose a problematic interpretation of the socio-cultural perspective on learning. Its purpose is to show how the socio-cultural perspective on learning defines the concept of knowledge in an incomplete way. The aim becomes then that of giving a more comprehensive description of this concept, and, to this end, to construct a new, broader pedagogic discourse. The investigation starts with a deconstructive analysis of Roger Säljö?s socio-cultural text in order to point out the incompleteness of the concept of knowledge.

Abstract:Styrdokument i musikämnet-En komparativ studie av norska och svenska styrdokument i Musikämnet i skolan.(Music Subject governing documents- A comparative study of Norwegian and Swedish policy documents in the Music subject in school)The purpose of this study is to compare the Norwegian and Swedish policy documents on teaching in the Music topic. The comparison also applies to the requirements which have been in Sweden over time. In comparison, the policy document LGR 11 from Sweden, analyzed, and the governing documents MUS1-01 and R94 from the Norwegian School.The main issue in the study is: How does the policy documents for the topic music in Sweden, compared to Norway? In order to answer the question, I compared the above-mentioned policy documents and set in relation to the musical substance is designed in Norway and Sweden.In curriculum theory treats one problem based approaches in structural functionalism, pragmatism, social epistemology and post structuralism. The starting points are then used to explore various relationships between curriculum theory and didactics.The principal researcher and proponent of curriculum theory is Ulf Lundgren.
Intuitionens intention : en magisteressä
Jag tar fram ett vitt A3 papper ur mitt block. Jag har en ny tuschpenna med oförstörd spets och börjar pricka på pappret. Halvligger på golvet, försöker att inte tänka, söker arbeta ur intet. Tekniken är enkel. Prickar jag tätt blir intrycket mörkare, prickar jag glesare blir området ljusare.
"Hur trivs du då?" : Erfarenheter och upplevelser av musikalisk socialisering under utlandsstudier
Föreliggande studie inriktar sig på hur jag som student i en viss kulturell och social struktur påverkas inlärningsmässigt och uttrycksmässigt i musikundervisningen av att komma till en musikalisk miljö där andra kulturella och sociala strukturer är normativa. Studien är etnografiskt inspirerad och utgår från en statisk-dynamisk analysteknik där videoinspelningar och loggboksanteckningar ligger till grund för det insamlade material som analyseras. Resultatet behandlar de aktiviteter som spelat stor roll, både negativt och positivt, i min musikaliska, sociala och personlighetsmässiga utveckling och beskriver också hur dessa aktiviteter förändras under studiernas gång. De aktiviteter som spelat stor roll under utlandsstudierna är främst mina trumpetlektioner, med kommunikation, teknik och musikaliska uttryck som underrubriker, det sociala livet i och utanför skolan och min musikaliska resa utanför skolan. I diskussionen tar jag bland annat upp den förvirring och frustration som mina trumpetlektioner skapade och hur mina inledande ensamhetskänslor låg till grund för min personliga utveckling.
Klassisk pianoimprovisation som konsertform
The thesis contains mainly personal experiences relating to classical piano improvisation, based on the CD record Härlig är jorden, Piano improvisations in Various Classical Styles. Sex classics: Mozart, Stravinsky, Bartók, Chopin, Debussy and Liszt play the main roles in that record.The idea is (apart from aiming at stimulationg the styles as faithfully as possible) to look at the various classical styles as different musical rooms created by the composers for us to enter and use. It is also a personal pedagogical goal to structure my ideas, including formulating the strongest possible requirements on the quality of my improvisations. A leading theme manifesting itself in different quises (depending on the style used) is not only a means for improving quality further. The audience has shown a great interest in this form.
Omvalet : En studie kring orsaker och påverkande faktorer för elever som gör omval på gymnasiet
The reason why this study has been made is the fact that a substantial part of students in the upper secondary school changes their field of study, during or after their first year. The aim of this study is to find out the reasons behind such changes as well as finding out the affecting factors. The study has been made in two steps, first quantitatively by a poll study and the second step is qualitative by interviews. This research has been made in both private schools and municipal schools, with the ambition to search for differences between these two separate school forms. The study shows that no general differences can be found in a comparison between them.

Title: Spykist ? of course, what then? - A study of the future plans of young music students in a Swedish high school. This study is dedicated to examine in what direction music students on a Swedish high school are planning to continue their education. The students, mainly 18-19 years old, are in different ways influenced in their specialised music studies by the arts program offered by their school. Will they aim for future higher musical studies or are they satisfied to have music only as a leisure pursuit? This study is based on a survey which included 99 students from grades 2 and 3 in a high school in the south of Sweden, called "Spyken".
